The kitten had been much more reluctant to leave the room they'd all been born in. But eventually, after having been the only one left, Simon had been forced to come out or face being alone.

And so, here the kitten sat, in the grand circle, bored out of their mind. They weren't one for just going up and interacting with others and they didn't feel like actually leaving the observatory. With a wide yawn, the kitten laid down, head resting on snowy paws.

Within seconds, as if she could sense that somebody was trying to get an ounce of rest, Aaliyah arrived, lil' mouth meowing as fast as she could.  She wasn't saying anything in particular, just vocalizing and hoping that somebody would respond.

Well, who wouldn't?  She already knew all the adults thought she was adorable, and that definitely meant that she could anything she wanted if she just screamed loud enough and looked at them the right way.

Now, instead of Roy or Margaery, Aaliyah was trying this tactic on Simon, who she wanted to play with because... well, because she saw them and decided 'oh!  playmate!"  Duck and cover, Simon, duck and cover.

Was it a wise idea for her to be here?

No.

Was she going to saunter up and probably torment the poor child anyways?

Why, of course! This was Genevieve after all.

It was the sudden wave of nausea and dizziness that stopped her in her tracks, a pang in the back of her head alerting her of Margaery’s discontent towards the situation. Behave, She head from the deep recesses of her mind, an empty smirk appearing upon chocolate lips as she processed what was occurring. Margaery could have seized back control in that moment and yet, she didn’t. The troubled girl was probably much too sensitive and hurt still. After all, why would she leave her with something akin to a migraine and a poorly-veiled threat? If she didn’t know her as well as she did, she might have guessed that Margaery actually wanted to see how she faired around children.

[color=#b14767]”Hm, hello, love,” She greeted, though her voice lacked the typical warmth that Margaery’s did. Obviously this was not Simon’s mother - as told by the lack of anything in her red eyes and her rigid, almost calculating posture. Did she expect a child to know the difference though? Admittedly, she didn’t know. Vampire children did tend to be a bit more developed than say, ah yes! A perfect example- Aaliyah. She glanced momentarily at the young bobcat kitten, not a single emotion passing over her features. In reality, she was contemplating how to punish her for trying to assert herself over her - Margaery’s? - child. 

Behave.

The threat was louder this time and Genevieve was forced to dismiss her thoughts, instead taking a seat. What was she supposed to talk to this child about anyways? She and children did not mix. Never had.

Most likely never will.

[GORDON CIPHER.]

Gordon could relate to being shy and reserved, and she quite liked Simon from the brief interaction she had with him when she went to go get him and his siblings' necklace strings. Gordon saw Genevieve making her way over to greet Simon and honestly, the little she-cat felt a protective surge go through her. The Observer came over as quickly as her short legs would allow her, her ears flatten a little bit as she blinked at Genevieve. This was really her attempt at looking 'threatening'; she didn't trust Genevieve whatsoever, and she didn't like the way she talked. She just wanted Maegaery back.

Gordon quickly turned her attention to Simon, though she tried to keep a watch on Genevieve out of the corner of her vision as much as she could. "H-hey, Simon." The she-cat squeaked out. "How's it going?"

A confused mew left the kitten as he lifted his head from his paws and looked at the bobkitten. With a panicked noise, the kitten lifted up on his hind paws and batted at the air with his front paws; it was as if he was batting the other kitten away.

He was so distracted by Aaliyah that he almost didn't notice the approach of Genevieve, not until she actually spoke. He twisted, still squatted on his hind paws, to look at her, a smile on his maw that flickered for a moment. He couldn't tell what but, something felt... off about her. And that wasn't how she normally talked to them, it felt like he was being talked to by a stranger. "oh, hello!"

The shy kitten dropped back to all fours as Gordon approached, confused at the hostile looks she was giving his mother. Perhaps there was something he was missing? "Hello, Gordon. It's ih, It's good." he said softly, eyes scatting back to look at Genevieve.

After being assaulted by all the terrible and wonderful memories of her past lives, she knew quite well was Genny was capable of. The white feline knew how to reign her in, but that meant giving up control over part of herself; she was not ready for that. No, she did not want to even think about that as it bothered her so severely. Despite forcing the thought to the back of her mind, she felt something reaching up inside of her, clawing at her consciousness, begging to see the light of day. For a fleeting second, dirty streets replaced the Observatory floors. She could feel Genevieve's counterpart pushing up, but Suiteheart was stronger. She blinked and all was right with the world again - or, well, things were normal.

With mother bear instincts activated, the white feline strolled forward, stepping between Genny and Simon. Her eyes narrowed for a heartbeat, and unless Genevieve or anyone else was staring directly at her eyes, they would not have noticed. She turned then and offered her mini-me a warm, lopsided grin. "Hey, baby," she purred, craning her neck in an attempt to nuzzle his cheek. "Are you and Aaliyah having fun?"

Suite let her eyes fall to Gordon next, and she said, "Afternoon, Gordy. How're you?" She felt a bit more relaxed at the sight of the Starstruck Guardian. She had seen the timid fae looking quite protective of her child, and Suite was thankful for that.

The boy reminded her of a dove: soft, white, and round with the innocence of a youth’s world. He was precious and shy, so it hadn’t come up as a surprise that she didn’t see him around much. Easily the spitting image of Suite with his snowy white pelt, it was faintly strange to see mother and son standing next to each other. Like a mirror image, but...smaller.

“Hey, Simon, Suite, Gordon.” She greeted, voice cheerier than it had been for a few days. She ignored Genivieve altogether, and suppressed the faint protests of the voice in her head. “Lovely day. How are you all?” Hazel asked, taking a seat and sweeping her tail over her paws.

Of course Gordon was going to be protective of Simon. Margaery wasn't acting like herself, and called herself Genevieve. It was worrisome and she didn't like how 'Genevieve' was acting. She didn't trust Genevieve. "I'm fine." The little she-cat replied to Hazel and Suiteheart, allowing a smile to cross her face despite her worries. "What y-you guys?"
