    Diego was a coward.
That much was apparent, at least. He'd been running all his life; from what? He couldn't lie anymore and say he was fleeing his family. His desperation and his sheer anguish at Romulus's near death proved different. During his short stay in the Coalition, he'd found himself wondering where the others were. He knew of his parents' misfortune, obviously, but what of the other three? Sojourn? Abzu, and Timbre? He knew not of their fates.

Similarly, Di wouldn't know what the Coalitioners would put his disappearance down to. Boredom? His time there simply being over? Without sounding far too self-deprecating, Di would chalk it up to his cowardice, though only he would know that he hadn't just upped and left... At least, not intentionally.

He'd put up a fight, well, sort of. For the most part, Diego had been taken by surprise when the stranger made their attack; that, and he wasn't the best fighter in the world, already. There would be signs of a scuffle, maybe a little blood, but not much. Just enough. Enough to tell he hadn't left willingly.

Was it weird that she actually cared about Diego? Sure she was blunt and distant,, but they saved Rom. They deserved some respect. So, when the male vanished, she noticed. Paws carrying her over to the place he was last seen. Part of her wondered if he left. Yet, something told her he would not leave Rom helpless like this. So  she looked about. Ears flicking as she tried to find anything to point out what happened.

That was when she found blood. Not a lot and there was a struggle. It was concerning and she let out a yip, loud and bold, to catch someone's attention. Anyones.
