Such a Perfect Surprise // Inferno

Days went on longer and longer, it seemed. Laolong was starting to lose track of everything, even with the sudden chaos of an island being discovered and Tanglewood trying to take it back from The Typhoon. She couldn't help but feel detached from it all, the hustle and buzz and noise of it all. She'd been so silent within the group that it felt like she wasn't even in the group anymore. Just hovering around it like some strange ghost. She felt purposeless.

Thunder roared overhead as she skirted the border of the swamp, near the crater that housed silence and ghosts of all kinds. Her new body was nothing less than graceful, gentle yellows and deep greens of her birth body carrying into a lengthy lung dragon, standing 8 foot tall and 19 feet long. She tread along soft toe pads and curved white talons. And her signature jutting lower fang on the left of her face.

Rain started as a gentle pitter-patter against the sparse leaves of the swamp, dampening her peachy ruff and flattening it against her scaled body as she walked. Laolong halted, ears flicking, as she looked across the border. She could just run. It wouldn't be too hard. But where would she go? Foliage ruffled from beyond, and she leaned her head forward to investigate.

the female had been grooming herself a ways away from the main camp, having had a really nice relaxing nap smack dab in the middle of a patch of sunlight. a coarse tongue smoothed out inches upon inches of golden-silvery fur, catching the funlight and spreading warmth throughout her body. the golden girl, indeed. she sighed happily, letting the warmth of the sun seep into her muscles.

suddenly, a noise. she was very close to their borders with tanglewood, and the sound was getting louder. lobes pricked up and she turned her head to the source of the sound. shining blue optics, swirling with mischief and flecks of ice, bored right into the bushes where laolong was. a sparkle could be seen in them as they made out the form of the lung dragon. "well hello there." she cooed, "do come closer."

Well. It wasn't every day she'd see someone grooming themselves. The vague Coalition scent tipped her off and the dragoness narrowed her eyes. She heard about what happened last year and she wasn't going to let that happen to her. A low snort left her and she quietly looked over Inferno. A stunning feline, yes.

Tentatively, she stepped past the border, coming closer like the other had beckoned her to. "Hello. Who are you?"

she regarded laolong with some sort of mild curiousity and hidden interest lurking in her optics. she'd never seen a dragoness before, aside from the vague form of chernabog in one of the monthly meetings, so laolong was an interest to her. "i'm inferno." she began, and as the other stepped onto coalition land, a teasing smile formed on her maw. "and i believe you're now on coalition territory." tilting her head, muscles relaxed to show she was joking, she continued. "what's your name, and why were you so easily swayed by someone simply saying to come closer?"
