I'M GOING TO MAKE IT HURT -
And just like that, he was Sentinel. Almost overnight he had gone from a simple Common man working for the greater good of the group, to the most powerful man of the group. Hairless legs hauled him up and he looked at the interior of the housing he inherited from his ascendant. It was barren, empty save for the pelt and straw bed he had and a few trinkets from minor raids gone past. All other possessions were thrown out or given out to the common folk.
The wolf-beast breathed in, lungs rattling for a second before calming down. His exhale was ragged and he grinned. Alabaster teeth glinted in the candlelight and his furless muzzle looked dry. He ran his tongue over it and started for the door. It was carved from oak and looked extremely worse for wear. It creaked angrily as he opened it.
He took little time in walking down to the now vacant Templar housing. Bloodstains dragged out of the door and down the stairs, and he flicked his ears. He helped do this. He helped cleanse The Covenant from weak animals who's soul purpose was to rot away.
Josiah Fauls turned his face to the quiet Hold. Josiah Fauls, son of the son of the brother of the late Sentinel, was now The Sentinel. "Covenant!" He yelled, pausing to let his rough voice echo into the surrounding caves. "Stand before me; I bring news and a new future for us!"
As the group started to gather around him, he smiled broadly. Finally, after they were all here and he saw the faces of friends and allies, he started. "As you all know, we have weeded out the weak, rotting bodies of our old High Ranks. This leaves me to say that I am standing up as your Sentinel. And that we have two open positions, Centurion and Templar. I'll be keeping an eye out for anyone who looks to be worthy of these spots."
"And with those out of the way, I am announcing that our borders will be... somewhat open. We will allow any allies to tread upon the lands above, and we will approach wanderers and potential joiners with apprehensive curiosity. We won't be attacking unless they attack first or act out of violence. After that, everything is on the table." He let his words echo, then he furrowed his hairless brows in thought. One more piece of news...
"I've caught wind of a new, blossoming group nearby. The 'Legion of The Stars', they call themselves. They're a small group, and I fear they may be crushed under the weight of the larger ones. Which is why we should pay them a visit, if you get my drift." He chuckled, seeing realization click in the group's eyes and hearing some whoops and chuckles among them as well. "We go the day after tomorrow. But for now, that is all. As you were, Covenant."
As they started to disperse into groups and lone individuals, Josiah walked back up the steps and into the Sentinel Housing. With a victorious grin he stood in the doorway, turning to face the cavern before him, open to comments, questions, other such things.
