HEAVEN HELP A FOOL THAT FALLS IN LOVE

she was an old woman now and she knew it. not that it made much of a difference. she had her two kits and lost her mate. moved on to find a home with her kids. she had lived her life. sure, she was not quite an elder, but she was close enough. she was pushing elder years and was thinking of retiring soon.

the only reason she had yet to do so was her kits. they needed her, even now. she was still teaching them. not that they are kids. one had a kit. though the father dipped and they were never mates. then again, spotted was not far from moth. they both had kits without forming a relationship.

spotted just wanted to protect them. all three. yawning, she lifted her head from her paws to look out over the camp. seeing who she could see.

I WILL WAIT FOR YOU

she was a cold, harsh monster. yet, she was always a mothers girl. so, when she came back into camp with her catch, she made her way straight to her mother. stopping to drop the vole at her feet. she would let her rump sink to the earth and tilt her head. looking back over her shoulder to see if her brothers patrol was home.

after a moment, she looked back to her mother and offered a soft purr. "i hope you were hungry, mother." she spoke with warmth for a change.

WHAT DOESN'T KILL YOU

true to form, he would soon stalk into camp. eyes cold as he scanned the faces around him. large paws carrying him across the way. he would stop beside his family and blink. slowly sinking his form to lay beside his mother. not bothering to speak to them as he knew they could see him. so, why bother?
