Recently, Lumia had noticed that people were... avoiding her. She wasn't sure why, really. Was something wrong with her? Had she done something wrong? It wasn't as if she could just ask, considering whenever she seemed to get close to someone, they ended up shivering and moving away. Vayne and Danny weren't options either, thanks to the damn Coalition taking them away. So for the moment, she was left just... wondering. Trying to figure out what it was that was making others want to get away from her. At first, she had thought maybe she smelled like something unpleasant – maybe a skunk had managed to surprise her? That didn't really seem to be the case, though, considering how many baths she had taken to no avail. It didn't seem to be a side effect of her being a Cipher, either. Everyone had been just fine with her before, and everyone seemed to be fine with Vayne, too. She considered it being something she had done wrong, but... wouldn't she have been punished by now if she had done something really wrong?
Nothing seemed to be making sense, and it was honestly more than a little infuriating. So, feeling frustrated and listless, the privateer had headed out to the beach, sitting down near the edge of the water. The comforting sound of the waves hitting the shore allowed her to settle slightly, and she closed her eyes to relax. Of course, unbeknownst to her, the reason so many had been avoiding her had been because of her unchecked and developing water elementals. Or rather, ice elementals. The air around her seemed to constantly have a sharp chill to it, driving everyone who couldn't handle the cold out of it eventually. Lumia didn't know this, though, considering she felt just as warm as she usually did. Instead, it seemed as though the icy wind only seemed to affect the air around her. She probably never would've noticed it at all... if it wasn't for the water. Upon hearing a quiet crack in front of her, Mia opened her eyes, only to let out a sharp gasp. Where her paws had been resting in the water, there now seemed to be a thin sheet of ice, slowly cracking and eventually sinking back down into the sea.
The sudden ice was definitely a surprise, and it wasn't long before Lumia was inspecting her own paws, muttering to herself, "What is... going on?" She had always known that elementals were simply a part of this world, but she had never really imagined herself having them. And she certainly hadn't imagined them manifesting themselves like this.
