☀ — and till the end you're my very best friend
    space
//tldr; it's pierce's "birthday" (he celebrates a month early because he forgot lmaoo) & he's reflecting on his last birthday party. he misses his bf & daughter and to take his mind off things he throws a little party for himself

One year ago today, Pierce had had it all. A sister, a best friend, a bunch of loved ones surrounding him. He'd had a clan to look after, a duty to fulfill- he had been whole, not a care in the world so long as everyone he cared about was safe. What he wouldn't give to have that life back, that life where everything had been so simple. Hell, there'd hardly been any issues between his clan and others back then. They'd had almost no worries, to the point that his best friend had had the time to throw a surprise party for him- his first birthday party. Walking into the little clearing Riddlersgame had set up for him had been one of the best moments of his life, if he was being honest. He could almost feel it, the cool spring air on his cheeks as his  gaze settled upon his friend, a broad grin spread across his features. He could feel Riddler's soft fur as he wrapped him up in a hug, smell the familiar, comforting scent of old books and pine on his tabby pelt. It had pretty much been their final happy, whole moment together before the incident, when everything went to shit. How he longed to be in the other's embrace once more.

It wasn't uncommon that Pierce missed his family.  No, and that was expected from everyone when they were away from each other. What bothered him wasn't that they were gone, but that they were still gone. It had been, what, three months? He knew they hadn't died - he would have seen him at the festival if they had -, but who's to say something else, something worse hadn't happened? What if someone had taken them? Or they were sick? It was possible Clementine's condition had somehow worsened while he was away and she couldn't make the trip, but he would never be able to know for sure, and it was tearing him apart.

At first, to escape his thoughts, he'd painted and wrote and drawn, but he was getting worse. He'd found he was chewing his claws, and his paintbrushes, and he knew if he let it continue, it would only keep going downhill. So, he found another outlet; cooking.

Pierce wasn't a good chef, and an even worse baker, but it definitely distracted him from things, and since it was his birthday, he figured he might as well give his clanmates a chance to celebrate. And what did people usually eat at birthdays? Cake, of course. Though, Pierce wasn't too keen on the idea of trying making a cake again, so he settled for cookies instead, and just hoped it'd go okay.

Well, it hadn't, really, but the desserts were only a bit burnt, and since they were still warm and their chocolate bits were still melty, he decided he might as well just go for it and serve them. So, carrying a little platter of chocolate-chip cookies into camp, Pierce placed them gently on the ground, a small smile finding its way to his lips. "Hey! I, uh, baked some cookies, if you guys are interested." He felt a little odd announcing himself that it was his birthday, so unless someone asked, he wouldn't mention it. He didn't mind keeping it to himself, anyway- in a year's time, they'd probably all forget, so what did it matter? There was no point in troubling them with it and basically baiting "happy birthday"s.

[align=center][div style="max-width: 600px; text-align: justify; font-family: verdana; font-size: 10pt;"]If anyone knows what it's like to lose family, it's Melantha. She did not have a tragic childhood. No traumatic deaths, no abuse at the paws of someone who is supposed to love her. In fact, her childhood was a completely normal one, as far as normal childhoods go. And unless something has changed in the six months since she last saw the Faber clan, they are all alive and well. The only tragedy is the moment the river ripped her away, spiriting her away to distant, unknown lands. She thinks about them most days. Stella's incessant chatter. A myriad of critters tormenting Corbett every day, from which it was Melantha's job to save him. Arguing with Alison. Competing with Dearlea for Father's attention. Learning how to read in Father's study. Arguing with Alison and Mother.

It's the little things which she misses the most.

The young snowseeker happens to be nearby when Pierce makes his announcement about the cookies. She does not know the guy very well, but she is a curious creature. There is no resisting the urge to investigate. Now, Melantha possesses no interest in the cookies. Well, not interested in eating the cookies. She is curious as to why the serval baked the goods. "What's the occasion?" queries the girl as she approaches on quiet paws. To her knowledge, Pierce has not done something like this. He seems nice, but not so outgoing to the point that he bakes cookies for everyone. So there must be an occasion, right?

    [shadow=darkblue,right]KILLUA[/shadow]
    .
Birthdays were always a strange concept to the wildcat. The simple factor was that their family didn't even remotely celebrate birthdays in the first place. He remembered his father telling him that ultimately it was a waste of time and that there was no need to waste time when there was money to be made from their jobs that they took on in the first place. Killua of course wasn't old enough to have his own birthdays, but his two oldest brothers were and he wondered what it would be like to have his family actually throw a birthday party for all of them. He had no clue what a birthday party was until he came to the clans, obviously something that he didn't really expect from creatures that when he first looked at them thinking that all of them were idiots and were wasting their time. Killua realized that what they were doing was out of respect to those that they did know, and that they were happy that whoever they were celebrating was still alive. That seemed to be a major factor that changed Killua's perception on how the clans dealt with what they did for one another. If his own family had decided to put on a birthday party, he could only imagine how awful it would be. There would probably be some sort of hidden agenda for the party and it would be used as a test of skill. That's what it had always been for the family, as there was no such thing as taking a break from their training either. Killua remembered when they used to eat with each other with the prey that was caught for them by the butlers. Sometimes it was prey, or sometimes it was actually human food that they would end up eating. Killua had lost track of the times where his mother had poisoned his food just to teach him a lesson not to trust the food that he was being given by his own family. It was annoying yes, and it was one of the main reasons that he decided to eat by himself, and barely trusted the food that anyone would give him. Sure, he was immune to most negative effects when it came to poison but that didn't mean it was anything pleasant for him to go through. He would like to avoid the effects as much as possible. Would Killua make it to his first birthday? Probably, as he wasn't going to die in the place like the clans, and he knew that his family wouldn't kill him either unless he did something absolutely terrible.

If anything, they would protect him from some threats just to make sure that he stayed alive because he was the most important one in the family after all. Birthday's still confused him to this day, and he hadn't seen one in the clans all that much. He blinked his sapphire blue optics as he came out of one of the tunnels from the caves, seeing two familiar figures standing at the entrance of the cave. The albino serval would stop a good distance away as he looked at the two, wondering what was happening. Killua had already seen the looks that Pierce had given him time and time again, but it wasn't to the point that the other probably remembered who he was. Killua did, and he remembered how much he disliked the guy, but since Pierce wasn't around that much that meant he didn't have to worry about getting pissed off that much. He flicked one of his large white ears as he debated going around Mel and Pierce when the smell of cookies caught his attention. His presence would probably ruin the mood, but he could care less when there were cookies involved anyway. He began to move his way toward the two of them, listening to what the Snowseeker said to Pierce, earning a snort from Killua as he came to stand next to her. His bandages still wrapped around his throat and his right leg as he looked at the cookies that Pierce had. "Does it matter, cookies are still cookies." Killua said with a grin spread across his facial features as he looked at the larger wildcat. Raising one of his paws, he stabbed one of the chocolate chip cookies, sitting himself down as he took a bite out of one of them. "I swear, we should just open up a bakery or something considering how many people can cook here." Killua stated with a grin on his facial features, his eyes landing on Pierce for a couple seconds to show the other serval that he wasn't ignoring him. It was almost as if he was complimenting the serval on his cooking, using his salmon-hued tongue to lick away some of the chocolate that was on his lip. It was one skill that Pierce had that Killua didn't, because he couldn't cook well enough even if he tried. He would be horrible at it.

    GENERAL:
★ KILLUA | KILL (BY FAMILY ONLY) | MALE
    ★ Bisexual (leans toward male)
    ★ 8 moons | Birthday | Ages realistically
★ Snowstriker |  Former Deputy & Former Head Combatant (FF) | Professional Assassin

    IMPORTANT FACTS:
★ Killua constantly remains stealthy. He uses his air elemental to cushion every step that he takes, making his pawsteps barely audible.
★ Killua also uses his Air Elementals to block out his scent from everyone around him. Which means its impossible to find him by scent, as he doesn't like to be associated with any clans despite his ranks he may have.
★ He has a very bad addiction to candy and doesn't share it with anyone no matter who they are.
★ Killua will not respect your character right off the bat. Unless they express how strong they are, or if they are interesting in his opinion, then there is a chance that he might show respect. Meaning that he will show no respect for ranks.
★ Killua has no morals. Meaning that seeing death doesn't affect him, and if someone dies, he just considers the one that did to be too weak and deserved death.
★ He is not afraid to kill your character, as he believes himself to be stronger than everyone else he comes across due to his training and how he knows the clans after living in them for several months.
★ HE WILL NOT TRUST YOUR CHARACTER. Not right off the bat anyway. Which means he won't give any personal information to them unless he deems them to be interesting.
★ Killua is immune to all deadly chemicals/poisons and is also immune to electrical attacks. However, just because he is immune, he still feels the pain from it all, he can just bare the pain. This means that he will get somewhat pissed if poisons are attempted to be used on him or if someone tries to electrocute him.

    RECENT EVENTS (oldest-recent):
    ★

    PHYSICAL:
    ★ ALBINO SERVAL W/ METAL CLAWS [birth/main] | health: 100% | Reference.
    — 30 lbs and the size of a full grown domestic cat, Killua belongs to the wildcat species of the serval. Meaning that his body structure consists of his long legs and his large ears that are perched on the top of his head. The most noticeable feature of him though is that his fur, instead of the usual tan and black, is stark white. Unlike most albino servals though, Killua doesn't show the usual spots of an albino serval, his fur being completely white. He has a lean build, meaning that he is built more for speed, yet there will be strengths behind his attacks. He has numerous scars all over his body, but sadly they can't be seen thanks to being hidden underneath his slightly unusually long fur. Compared to a serval's anyway. His eyes express a vibrant electric blue/sapphire hue color to them. Looking at his claws though, the front claws in his front paws are made entirely metal, over inches long meaning that they have a lot of piercing capability. These claws are made out of a light, durable metal that is sharper than even that of swords. So that the claws are capable of slicing through tough hide if need be. The claws on his back legs though are completely normal claws. Due to his front claws being so long though, it means that they can't be fully sheathed, so the tips of the claws always stick out no matter what. This means that if he is to ever spar with someone, there is a likelihood that character will end up getting scratched. Killua can often be seen eating some form of candy when he is talking to someone, except in serious situations.
    - major injuries: severe injury on right arm (causes him to limp slightly)
    - minor injuries: bandages around his throat

    PERSONALITY:
Everyone wants to keep Killua on his good side. No one wants him on his bad side because if they do it usually results in their death sometime later. Killua has no problem with killing those that mock him, on the consideration that he doesn't like to be considered weak, and having grown up only being taught how to kill, he has no other morals when it comes to dealing with social situations. Killua is extremely terrible when it comes to social gatherings, actually making quite difficult for him to interact with others without completely pissing them off. This serval doesn't show respect toward those that he doesn't know, and those that he doesn't consider to be capable of doing their job. He believes that most adults that he has come across are idiots compared to him, as despite his young age, he believes that he has a lot more experience than adults could ever have. Right now though, he is trying his best to figure out what he wants with his life after running away from his family and dealing with a clan previous to coming here, hearing a rumor that there were strong creatures here that could be a possible challenge. He has a huge ego as he thinks that he can take anyone on with relative ease. That he can take on anyone no matter what size they are. The assassin doesn't like to follow the rules either, practically a loose canon as he just does whatever the hell he wants to despite the consequences. He can often be seen mocking others, or even teasing if he is in a lighter mood. Killua so far is rarely seen being serious, as he mostly talks with a lot of sarcasm in his voice.

☀ — and till the end you're my very best friend
    space
//me? bumping up a days-old thread? it’s  more likely than you think + mobile

Pierce felt his smile settle more naturally upon his features at the sight of Melantha, who, though he didn't know her well, seemed like a kind girl, and she had a sort of... calming presence. She was a bit odd, perhaps, but he respected that. "Oh, hi, Mel," he greeted as she approached, avoiding her initial question with his simple words. His tail flicked behind him as he considered his words for a moment before speaking up again, "It's, uh, my birthday, so I thought I'd... share with everyone else." That's basically the point of birthdays, right? He wasn't really sure- he'd only had one real one before, and his friend had thrown a party for him, which had been pretty cool, if a bit tense between a few people.

At Killua's approach, Pierce felt that familiar-but-unexplainable knot in his stomach. It wasn’t one of fear or upset, rather one of mild annoyance. His feelings toward Killua made him feel kind of bad, but it was something deep-rooted that he couldn’t quite place his finger on. Despite the irritation that built in his chest, he offered the boy a warm smile. He didn’t hate his cookies? Really? Pierce tried not to make a face, but really, he was shocked. They were kind of crappy, honestly, and the bottoms were completely charred, but he wouldn’t say anything if the guy genuinely thought they were good- or, weren’t bad. “Cookies were cookies”, apparently, even burnt ones. "Oh, that would be cool!" the speckled tom agreed with a wave of his tail. "I don’t think I’d be able to contribute much more than these, though." No way was he gonna try anything else- he could hardly bake basic chocolate chip cookies as it was.

    VALEMON
    male — 9 months — snowbound — member — tags — rped by Autumnleaf
Val had never had a birthday, but they were one of the few things he understood. They seemed fun and all and were a nice excuse for games and treats. The only thing he couldn’t get was why one would celebrate getting older. It happened to everyone; why such a special occasion?

Still, as soon as he spotted a new face offering cookies, he couldn’t help but get excited. Getting closer, he heard the other male mention his birthday. So, why was he giving away things? Weren’t birthdays the time to gift the person whose birthday it was? Seeing as Val had nothing to offer, he quickly removed his crown of artificial flowers. He had a couple more back in his cabin, and it was this guy’s birthday. Plus, he might let Val have a few extra cookies if he gave him a gift.

“‘Appy Birt’day!” the cub announced, presenting Pierce with the flower crown. Then, his eyes shifted to the plate of chocolate chip cookies. “Have one, please?”
