PRECIOUS POSSESSION
canela is a wandering lost spirit that appears as a cinnamon colored fennec fox covered in pink ribbons / tends to lose her tail / cries a lot / ♥ ♥ ♥
Why was she here? Where was she? What had happened? All she remembered was trekking through the burning levels of hells searching for her pretty blue ribbons when suddenly, a fracture of the mortal world and the spirtual world sucked her into the chaos and now she was here. Among the living. It felt odd. Seeing actual creatures depend on functioning organs to survive and honestly quite disgusting. Did they really not mind having so much bacteria within themselves and fragile little bones that she no longer held within her...body? Could she really even call her form a body? She was a "ghoul" but she didn't really like how that sounded...she wanted to sound nice. Friendly. Approachable. Maybe then someone could tell her where her cursed tail had detached itself from her semi-transparent figure. Her tail. Where could it be?
A soft whimper flowed out of her trembling lips as the tiny figure scuttled down the railroad tracks she had found herself on, her large ears pinned to her skull as the nimble fennec fox stared blankly down at the salt waters that just went right through her. She was foolish. Canela had gotten so excited about being able to explore the living world that she had blindly run around through the multiple lands that stretched before here, including the deep depths of the sea. It wasn't her fault, okay?! It was the cursed split that had tempted her although she did have to admit that it was stupid of her to not make sure her ribbons at the base of her tail had not been tightened. Now, her tail was who knows where and it was frustrating her. Sucking in a shaky breath of the midnight air, her amber hazel gaze flickered around as she reached the end of the railroad tracks, realizing that she had reached the end.
"Oh." murmured the vulpine as she tipped her head upwards from staring at the ground, her back legs slightly shaking. God, jungles were a faded memory but the looming tower of gnarled rich trees and palm trees mixed together brought a sense of warmth. She had once lived in the tropics. Sometime ago. Many moons had passed since she remembered the feeling of sand beneath her paws and the fresh wind of a sea current. She couldn't place her paw on it but she knew that she held fond memories lodged inside the back of her vacant mind, her thoughts had been twisted and torn by hell's wickedness and well, she forgot anything past the time she had to spend in the afterlife. She had been someone. Now...who was she?
Sighing, the short spirit wandered deeper into the territory with attention locked onto what appeared to be life. Oh, it had been so long since she had seen actual flesh! Her small bubblegum colored tongue stuck out at how strong they smelled, their auras just rolling off with so many emotions and feelings. Of course, they were alien to her and she was not able to empathize with them as she slipped through groups that socialized, her ghost-like figure hardly able to be caught by the mortal eye unless she wanted to be seen. Canela wanted to but at the same time, she didn't. She had always disliked the feeling of eyes upon her, it felt like they were picking her apart by every second and she would grow fidgety if she stuck around too long under the gazes of strangers. The other part of her wanted to be visible so she could ask if anyone had seen her tail. Her long ribbons that were wrapped around many parts of her figure were like bandages, hiding the nasty scars that she had received when she had been alive and had sadly carried still even after dying. She was insecure. Nervous. Excited. Emotions that she could understand that she felt but they weren't strong, they just felt like tiny needles pricking at her mind. Faded emotions were so odd.
Stepping into the tavern, she glanced around at the buzzing life that mingled about. Some were eating. Others conversating. Or arguing. She couldn't really tell as her urgent need to find her tail grew and was beginning to blind her. Her breathing began to quicken and the glazed sheet of tears that covered her eyes was beginning to water more. Fuck, she really couldn't keep herself together nor her composure. The transparent spirit bit back a sob as her long ears twitched nervously as she glanced around, long winding patterns of frost forming where she was located. She stood at the center of the tavern, unseen and unnoticed. She was going to cry. Don't cry, don't cry, don't cry. Tonta! Quit your crying! she thought bitterly to herself as she sniffed and raised a small paw to rub at her eyes before setting it down and forcing the ice that formed around her to stop spreading. Giving herself a light shake, she allowed herself to be visible to mortal eyes as she stood nervously and cried out "H-Hola! I-I'm sorry, sorry, I'm sorry for b-bothering but...but u-uh, I've lost my tail. Has um. Has uh...has anyone seen it? I'm Can ah C-Canela. I'm really sorry I don't mean to botherbutIjustwantmytail--...back." Her voice floated from stuttering repetition to rushed words as the female felt ready to faint. The eyes. God, she hated the eyes. She tugged nervously on the pink ribbons around her neck as she waited for a response, oblivious to the fact that her ice elemental that was connected to her spirit had begun to grow worse and icicles were now forming on the ceiling.
Good first impression...right?
