It'd been a long time since Videogames had updated his progress. Quite a lot of months, at least. And he'd been doing a lot, since then! Including training himself to hunt better. And .. well. He'd been preparing for his next try. See .. there was this thing, here. Where, whenever you felt like you'd improved enough at hunting, felt like more of a person, you'd go hunting for a bird. And then you'd pluck a feather from the bird, and use it to mark your progress. And Videogames had .. one. One feather, pierced into his ear. And today .. he would catch one more. He could jump higher. He was better, now.
So Videogames sets out. He's grinning as he does so, paws light and easy as he trods through Silver Woods. Silver Woods -- a pretty place, assuming you don't go too far. But you have to go far in to find the pretty birds. The harder to catch ones. Not far enough to intrude in the deep woods, of course. God knows the deep woods were unexplored and eerie and dangerous. But. Deep enough. Keyword, enough.
So, Videogames leaps into the trees and makes from there. He likes the trees. Servals probably weren't intended to climb through trees like this, but Videogames does anyways, easily bouncing from branch to branch, eyes slit as he seeks out a bird. Any bird, just so long as it was pretty and rare. And then, after a little while, Videogames sees it. A little blue feathered bird. His tail swishes as he quickly crouches in the branches, but he pays mind to it's movements. Not only to better hunt it, but also because not all prey was feral. You had to pay attention to the subtle cues, see. But .. finding nothing, Videogames launches himself to the other side of the tree. And -- his teeth sink in. But, he does not manage to latch onto the branch, and one paw skims over it as he goes crashing to the ground. The serval would shriek, but his jaws are too full of feathers and flailing bird and if he lets go, it'll be gone. So -- he bites a little harder, and then he hits the ground and he's breathless. The force had smashed his jaws closed, of course, and the bird lies dead in his jaws. Videogames allows himself to blink a few times, a little dizzy and put off as he gathers himself. And then he looks at the bird, and he grins. He did it. He oughta go back to camp to get something done with this then, huh? He aches from the fall, but Videogames shakes out his pelt and picks up his catch anyways, trotting through the woods on his way to Silver Woods' abandoned village. A hotspot for his clanmates, of course, and a good place to set things up. I mean, it had tables and stuff, so that was probably why? .. They oughta clean up the place, in that case. I mean, as it was, it wasn't terribly habitable.
