    the lumbering beast moved along casually. tongue flicking out slowly. tasting the air as he followed the deer. each step calm and silent. moving until he could see the animal ahead, grazing. he waited. watching with a rather eerie calm to him. then, it happened without warning.

he darted forward, surprisingly quick. one bite and the dear ran away. bleeding. yet, it was already done. he lumbered after until the deer collapsed. to weak to fight or run. the beast inched closer and finished the work. killing with a fast bite to the throat. then he dug in.
