The small feline form that Ares had was, in many terms, not her favorite. It bore the scars of her wings, it harbored its terrors as the deinonychus's stronghold, so-to-speak. But in times that Ares felt small, or too big for her new house, the cat form was the unfortunate choice.

Stretching her tiny form, Ares walked off her porch, a frown curling onto her face. It was a faint buzzing, this pain at her shoulders where her wings once were. But it was enough to annoy her. Ares shrugged it off, and continued into the swamp. Though she only made it so far before the pain suddenly worsened. Legs buckling, she gritted her teeth and collapsed into the sodden earth. Claws digging into the ground, her ears flattened as memories flashed in her head.

"No... no. Stop." She snarled, biting down on her foreleg to stop the memories. Focusing on the pain, and eventually ignoring the searing pain in her back until it went away, she let go and breathed heavily. Slowly, she tried to stand up, but her legs shook and she flopped back onto the ground. "... Well, guess I'll stay here."
