Georgie breathed in deep, let the air sit in a new and still strange body for a moment that stretched for an eternity. She hadn't expected it to be like this, the change. it had been so long, and the bodies weren't so different, but...well. She was out of practice. It was out of practice, and it probed at the muscles and ligaments and blood cells of this strong new thing with an air of wonder and more so of hunger and Georgie, where she stood ankle deep in the foaming surf, let out a long sigh. She burrowed into the wet sand with her toes and kicked around aimlessly, turning to glance over her shoulder. This was boring her. Was boring it. It had been away for what had felt like an era, but nothing had changed at all. Not really. Meat was still warm and a necessary casing for life, but these creatures, they were...well, they weren't...
They would do. That was all. And that was fine, really. It had never expected to be satisfied, just sustained.
Georgie turned away from the lapping sea, padding back until dry sand stuck to her wet paws and she had to flick it off. The tip of her tail twitched like it was it's own separate, living thing and she sought out the darkness of the treeline. Staring at the stars would only ever make her homesick, and there was nothing more infinitely maddening than longing to be somewhere you couldn't return to. Nothing save, perhaps, perpetual rage, but that was maddening in the way that made one only ever want to lean into the impulse. She tongued the inside of her cheek thoughtfully, sharp eyes cutting a path through the dim greenery. Tonight was as good a night as any to raise hell.
