The junkyard was not a place that Alaric tended to frequent. If you asked him, it was called a junkyard for a reason, and a damn good one too — the stuff that went into it was, well, junk, and he doubted that anything of any real value could be found hidden in the piles of scrap that that particular portion of the territory boasted. Some may say that one man's trash is another man's treasure; for Alaric, this could not be farther from the truth.

Nevertheless, he occasionally found himself venturing there on the off chance that he was somehow bored enough to want to go there. Normally he'd sate his boredom by reading a book, but there was only so much entertainment that one could get from a book before they grew jaded and decided to move on to greener pastures — well, in this case, he supposed the rusted metal scraps blanketing the junkyard would make it more of a red pasture. Alaric chuckled to himself lightly at the thought.

Today happened to be one of those days where he had grown tired of just reading. Besides, he could hear some kind of commotion going on at the junkyard, and he was curious as to just what it might be. Blue hues landed upon the larger form of Snarl upon his arrival. She appeared to be moving various metal sheets into a pile in the center of the landfill, and not far from it was a small collection of screws and nails. He recalled, then, that this had been the task that Leroy had assigned to her in order to assist with the camp's reconstruction. The tabby knew Snarl to be more of the solitary, confrontational type, but regardless of this fact he figured he would offer his help. And if she accepted it then he'd finally have something to do instead of sit around and procrastinate doing his own task.

"Mind if I lend a hand?" inquired the male as he closed the distance between himself and the unfriendly hyena. He wasn't quite sure what she would say in response, though.

Even though he was the one who'd issued out the task, Leroy actually hadn't any idea if there salvageable components within the junkyard's proximity. A hefty allotment of weeks transpired since he last paid a visit to the place, so the usable material that the general had known about being no longer available was a palpable possibility. For all he knew, acid rain could've corroded away at the steel he'd mentioned, and the concrete blocks might've crumbled due to the tremors. In spite of those potential circumstances, though, Snarl managed to procure a decent supply as a result of her scavenging.

Relieved, the male exhales a reprieved sigh. He wasn't sure what to expect when assigning the chore, but the what lay before him at the current moment was more than satisfactory. The metal sheets would provide an excellent protective coating to any structures that may or may not be built within the very near future. Also relieving was catching glimpse of Alaric's presence - had Snarl extended an invite to the tabby to make better use of time? The canine did not know, as his arrival came well after the chaser's.

"Good workin', there," he lauds through a smile, encroaching on the busy hyenoid. He half-expected her to begin fucking around midway through her job (and he wouldn't have gotten mad if that'd been the case due to these expectations), so understanding that this wasn't so felt gratifying. "I'll help as well, if need be," he offers, tagging on to the feline's proposal.
