[font=trebuchet ms]A day had passed since Tena's return, and no further incidents had occurred.

Rin sat on the dock with her second attempt at a cup of tea, the sun setting over the water ahead of her. Occasional sips left a bitter taste on her tongue, but it wasn't outright unpleasant. For a second attempt, it was alright. She would probably finish the cup this time, rather than leaving it to reach room temperature and eventually throwing it out like she had the first time.

Somehow, by this point, she hadn't grown to associate tea with any form of tragedy. She would be grateful for that much.

Talons clacked down on the wood beside her- the impact too light to be caused by Nemhain. Turning her head, Rin stared down at the sudden visitor: a crow. Furrowing her brows, she felt her muscles tense. It would be foolish for one of the gods to attack her here, but it wasn't impossible.

The crow glanced at her cup of tea, then back at her, and squawked in an inquisitive manner.

The tension melted out of Rin's limbs. The crow was non-sentient. Feeling the edges of her mouth twitch, she shook her head. "You wouldn't like it," she said, before turning back to the cup of tea and taking another sip. Though it was still warm, she could tell it was cooling down- she ought to finish it quickly. Next to her, she heard the flapping of wings, quieting down as the crow flew away.

Shortly afterwards, she heard the planks shift again. Looking down at the crow, she blinked- the crow held a quarter in its mouth, and looked at her expectantly, as if offering an exchange. With a sigh, she set down the cup of tea in front of the crow. The crow set down the quarter in front of her, then leaned down and drank from the cup. Curiously, it didn't seem repulsed by the taste, drinking steadily.

Sweeping the quarter closer to her with one paw, she gazed out at the sunset, her strange, temporary companion drinking tea beside her.

/tl;dr: a crow pays Rin twenty-five American cents for her tea, and now the two are sitting on the dock watching the sunset

[align=center][div style="width:70%; text-align: justify; padding: 1px; font-family: helvetica;"]"What's with ya and birds? They got a fetish for ya or somethin'?" Those are the first words out of his mouth upon seeing Rin with the crow. The corvid reminds him of Bink and he briefly wonders if this one is capable of speech as well; he doubts it though.

Lemy approaches steadily, white pupils momentarily staring out at the sunset. The view is beautiful and perhaps calming to some, but all he can really feel is a cold sort of exhaustion. He returns his attention to the two and tries to half-heartedly bat at the crow in an attempt to amuse himself. "This your new pet? Weren't satisfied with just Nem, huh?" He asks, tilting his head in faux innocence.

Videogames rather liked birds. And crows, of course -- they were really smart. You could befriend them, and they might give you little trinkets. Probably not particularly useful ones, but it's not like that was the goal anyways. They were a lot more graceful in the air than Videogames had ever been, too. Arrowhead had always been a bit disapproving of Videogames' rather .. unique attempts at mimicking them.
    It didn't matter anymore.
"Did it just pay you a quarter?" Videogames chirrups softly, a note of sheer delight to his voice. He hadn't seen it happen, per se -- he just saw the crow land from a bit of a distance, and he can't think of any other reason why Rin would have a quarter. And while Videogames could chatter about birds all he liked, well -- that would imply he had an interest, huh? As such, Videogames says something more, even as he grins wide.
Videogames, for his part, doesn't particularly care about the sunset. He can't ... what was he even doing over here, again? He can't remember why he ended up here, but he'll probably be wandering off pretty soon anyways. Not like the crow will be sticking around for long with the way Lemy was batting it. If Videogames cared any less about his presentation, he might've rolled his eyes. But he does, and it's not like he cares all that much anyways -- a vague flash of amusement and exasperation, but that's all.

Scrabbling of talons usually signaled Sanzu's arrival. She'd heard voices with her massive ears and swiftly had come to the scene to see what was going on. Perhaps she'd been coming down to the docks to try her luck at fishing, or maybe she'd simply been walking to see where spinning around and then running could take her. "What'sa we talkin' about?" Sanzu chattered.

Her ears twitched a little, red eyes glancing back and forth between the congregation. There was a birdie! She only now noticed it. Her tail wagged behind her. "Are we huntin' the birdie? I'mmsa can hunt the small birdie!" She chatters. A misunderstanding of the situation at hand it was, her small form crouching and scooting closer. "What's a quarter," she then whisper shouts, red eyes focused on the crow. She could totally hunt a bird! Her vibrant green body and rapidly wriggling hind totally did not give away her small form in any manner.

[font=trebuchet ms]Truthfully, Rin herself had to wonder why it was always birds. She knew the most likely reason that Nemhain had taken an avian form (though she preferred not to think about it), but that didn't explain the crow. Though, now that she thought of it, besides Nemhain and the crow... it wasn't like she had birds flying down every time she walked outside in some sort of Snow White-esque tribute from nature. To Lemy, two cases in five months might seem like a lot, but two cases in five years wasn't much.

As Lemy batted at the crow, the crow jumped back a few steps, then cawed indignantly. Rin watched the interaction with a quirked brow, but made no move to defend the crow. "A business partner, if anything," she remarked, twitching her tail. To Videogames, she replied, lifting the quarter into the air with her telekinesis and spinning it, "Yes, it did. Truthfully, I'm not even sure the tea was worth that much."

To Sanzu, she shook her head. "It bought my tea, let it drink in peace," she said, with a small nod to the crow. The crow, in response, leaned down and sipped the last of the tea from the cup- then, with a soft squawk, it took off from the docks, leaving the empty cup behind.

Looking back at Sanzu, Rin continued, "A quarter is... money. You give it to someone in exchange for goods." It was hardly the most worthwhile form of currency, but she wasn't particularly missing the tea anyway. Hearing another squawk from afar, she glanced up to see the crow returning. As it landed on the docks, it presented a metal bottle cap to her.

"I have nothing else for you," she said, with a shrug. Unfazed, the crow set down the bottle cap and glanced between the others, squawking in an attempt at a bartering offer.
