[align=center]blackbird singing in the dead of night, take these broken wings and learn to fly
The matter of her pale, unseeing, sea-green eyes gradually became less and less... Relevant for the tiny fae.  While her fur may still prickle under new gazes, she no longer flinched away from the thought of instructing others how to move without seeing.  It'd been Bakugou's doing the first time, of course, requesting she give a class on the subject.  How did she move without seeing?

It was like asking how she breathed.  Something learned naturally.  Instinctively.  Regardless, as she grew older, she understood that helping others learn how to navigate without their eyes was actually useful.  As a kitten, she'd regarded the task with bewilderment.  What gain was there in teaching others how to move without their eyes?

With war on the breeze, the little privateer hoped this would be a beneficial exercise.  She felt no confidence in teaching someone how to fight without their eyes, but she could certainly try helping them move.  So, with Fiachra's help, the faerie set to creating another obstacle course.  The raven proved only semi-helpful most of the time, often turning to annoy her instead of lending a claw.

Eventually, a medium sized course consisting of various sized rocks, logs and a number of crates, sat on the sandy beach.  A blast to the past for any of those old enough to recall the first go-around.  The privateer herself sat beside Tofu the turtle, a small basket of colorful cloths resting beside her.  Her pale hues flickered thoughtfully before she raised her soft voice, "'m hosting 'n obstacle course, for any interested."

At the start and finish, she'd placed a bell.  A new idea, which would tell the finisher there was no more course left.

"Ya 'ave to go it blind, with one of these cloths." The most important rule.  "I'll be offerin' tips from 'ere." Or not.  Or vaguely.  Who knew?

[div style="margin: 0 auto; border-width:0; width: 70%; text-align: justify; font-family: arial; line-height: 1.5; font-size: 9pt;"]While Keona had no eyes that could see the world, Elijah perhaps had too many. He was accustomed to switching vision to vision, moving from his own sight to that of his rats as he traversed and did his best to maintain steps ahead of the ones around him. He felt distrustful of his surroundings, unable to accept the materialisations that supposedly existed before his icy gaze. He second guessed his own eyes, his own ears, his own nose. Not until he checked with every single one of his rats that he felt certain. But, by then, it was usually too late for Elijah to regret not acting on impulse, not acting on the image he saw with his own perception. His ears swindle towards the privateer's voice, the male's nose twitching as he recognises her different but familiar scent. This was Keona, the blind girl. He could have sworn she was older than him but her image was akin to that of a child. Despite the facts before him, the demiangel didn't necessarily feel unsettled by the apparent forever-child. Though he was curious as to why she continued to be dazzled with youth, Elijah quickly loss interest in pondering the matter. Keona was not here to be interrogated.

A smile creeps upon his expression, the darkfurred male drawing his gaze towards the so-called obstacle course. "A blind obstacle course doesn't sound...too bad. I trust you," he says without a falter in his tone, but the truth was that he trusted his rats more than the likes of a pirate. He didn't exactly feel safe with the stability of the course items but he chose participate anyway just to humour her.

Without any words, a number of his rats sweep towards the basket that held the assortment of cloths, shifting quickly through before picking out a pale blue that matched the hue of Elijah's blood. As if treating the boy like a king, they lay the fabric before him. Elijah wasn't experienced with tying knots with his eyes closed. He had never even tried it. Still, the demiangel lifts the cloth with the wind, bringing it to head and doing his best to feel the way it moved behind him. Most of it came from his imagination. He struggled to feel the ends meet, only recognising the pattern of warm wind brushing behind his ears. He shakes his head gently and after a few tugs, he turns his head towards Keona. "I think it'll hold," he muses. "Where do I, uh, go? Forward?"

"I want to too!" The youth called with a grin.  There's a vague memory of his friend doing something like this before, but it's grown muddled and unimportant with time.  In the present, he happily bounds over to Keona and her basket of cloths.

Ikaia happened to be older than Keona, though it seemed they might have well be the same.  The blood running through his veins, like hers, seemed to change the course of time for them.  Not that he seemed to take much notice, quite contently living his life like there was nothing odd about him.  If Elijah ever posed the question to either of them, he might only shrug, uncertain.

"Do we try to ring the bells?" He inquired as he worked with the cloth.  He had looked over the course once or twice, but decided going in nearly completely blind made the most sense.  Ikaia felt rather confident he'd seen two bells though; start and finish.  "I think I'm ready, Keo."

idyll trusted their fellow crewmates rather generously. perhaps  a bit more than they were used to trusting. the coyote was never used to the term 'friends' as they had never had any growing up. secured and tucked away from the world as they were. only ever knowing the same three people all their life. up until they had taken that leap to see their father... their life had finally begun.

this trust was of course extended to keona. when told of the plans for the obstacle course, they looked over the entire thing. there wasn't much that they were concerned about, thankfully. far away from the crushing waves that they weren't as concerned or frightened of. just to make sure, though, they stood next to the fae as they spoke.

"if... i become too close to the water, please tell. i can't bear to be around it." their voice was hushed, then they took one of the pale colored clothes and secured it over their eyes. they took a few cautious steps forward, then bumped into kiaia. "oh, my apologies."

Elijah.  Hard to say she knew him by his voice or the pitter-patter of rat paws.  Regardless, her head turned upwards, the upturn of her lips hinting at a smile.  Trust.  Did she trust her crewmates completely?  Keona furrowed her brow.  Mostly, she supposed, but she kept to herself more often than not too.  Oh well.

Soon Ikaia came rushing over, followed by Idyllfields soon after.  Her ears flicked back sheepishly and she listened to the sound of their paws moving.  Ikaia had the right of it.  "Uh-huh.  From ‘ere... Go forward a lil.  Now without your eyes you ‘ave to focus on your other senses.  Mostly touch and hearing."

"Don’ worry about the water; it’s not close enough," she offered softly, the tip of her tail twitching.
