She was dead. Gone. No where to be found. One moment she could picture the bengal at her side, walking sticks and in all of her sickly glory. But no longer would she be there. Mynthe had been spending most nights in the tent intended for Goldenluxury despite others telling her not to, not that she would listen to them even. She found ways to sneak in undetected while other times she would blatantly stride in with multiple watching eyes. The island looked like shit now as she could tell from the mainland, charred over and covered in the ashes from the volcano. Everything looked dark and all she could see was smoke in the distance. Every tree was probably burned along with every piece of greenery that made the island once so beautiful. Beauty turned into something truly tragic. Though she couldn't lie, the setting was perfect for the occasion, for the death of someone she was finally getting used to around the place. A face that she didn't feel total anger or mistrust towards even if it did take a while to get to that point. In no way did she trust the now former Captain with every fiber of her being, but she could admit to herself that she had been developing a somewhat of a soft spot for Goldenluxury and that soft spot was enough to make her feel an aching sadness even if it wasn't as intense as those who knew her on a more personal level than she did.
The night time had arrived where nearly everyone was asleep, Mynthe slipping out from her small tent on the mainland and looking around at the seemingly calm camping site. She could see no one up and about, a chance for her to sneak into a different tent tonight. Slowly she exposed her body to the gentle coldness of the night, the moon's light revealing her now mangled fur and slightly thinning frame. It was as if she had just been found again at the shores of the Typhoon. Her paws carried her across the campsite to Goldenluxury's tent, the thylacine not even trying to conceal the sounds of her pawsteps at this point. She didn't care, she really didn't care whether they saw her or not. If they tried to stop her she would get aggressive or find another way. But at the same time she felt selfish, selfish for trying to hog the loving memory of Goldenluxury to herself, the only few things now that they had to remember her by. No, she deserved to be selfish. Goldenluxury was the only person she could truly consider a... a possible friend.
Mynthe slipped into the tent without caution, eyes lurking around the tent. She wasn't sure what she felt right now, or maybe she knew but didn't want to admit it. She could feel a strong aching in her chest as she viewed all the things that Goldenluxury had inside her tent, neatly set up. If only she knew that she wasn't going to be returning.. if only Mynthe knew earlier that she would lose Goldenluxury so that she wouldn't have gotten close in the first place. She allowed her paws to carry her around the tent, looking at every photo or possession she had. She wanted something, something from this tent to keep her own memory of the former Captain alive with her. Her eyes landed on something that seemed to be reflecting off the moonlight that came through the tent, metal it looked like but it was hidden under a ragged down blanket. Slowly she approached the hidden object, head lowering to get a glimpse before she lunged her jaws forwards and clamped them onto the blanket, pulling it off.
The first thing she saw was a chest, a small one that she could fit in her jaws quite easily. For Mynthe there seemed to be a calling to this chest and she couldn't tell if it was an urge to steal or something genuine. She put little thought into the act, barely taking a moment to stop and think. She wrapped her jaws around the small chest and made her way to the exit of Goldenluxury's tent, pushing past the blinds and out into the open. Whether someone saw her or not with the chest barely concerned her, Mynthe making her way back to her tent with the chest of the former Captain's wills locked tight in her jaws.
