She had never really been in charge of anything in her life.
Hell, she didn't have much say in her life overall, not until now. Someone else was always telling her what to do, what to say (or rather what not to say). Now she had the freedom to make decisions--and it had left her confused and lost. She wasn't controlled by anyone anymore, yet she didn't have the courage to do things on her own. It still felt like people were breathing down her neck, ready to punish her for making a single wrong move.
Then just today things suddenly changed. It was funny how fast and suddenly things could do that.
Cosette led the younger female to where she had set up her home, giving her a small smile before allowing her inside, where it was still somewhat barren aside from a few minor pieces of furniture. There were a few seats to rest in, a brown and red rug laid out on the floor in the middle of the room, and a small table off to the side. On it stood an oil lamp that illuminated the building at night.
"Well, uh, just make yourself at home," she offers awkwardly, looking between Halo and the room they stood in. It was small, but she had managed. Still, she wasn't sure how well it would accommodate two people.
