one day she found herself by the water, having a nice stroll, mind empty and just processing the sounds of the nature. she inhaled with a happy smile on her face, the fresh air tickling her nose, then something shiny (again) caught her eye (again). ignoring any potential danger, she padded over to it. it was a shiny piece of thing, sharp at one point it was but had been smoothened by aeons of liquid caresses. it was faintly glowing amber and smelt nice and fresh. she held it up to her optics, the light reflecting off of it momentarily blinding her. setting it down between her paws she blinked, shook her head and fur out.

a name, briefly flashing to her head. mermaid's tear. a story she had briefly heard from a passing wanderer, just chitter-chatter. a thing of beauty made even more beautiful by nature. it smelt faintly of the ocean, of something ancient that had watched the world live and die for aeons and aeons more to come. the pebble was smooth to the touch, no longer than a claw-length. such delicacy, maybe she could find more? she cast her gaze back towards the water's edge, hoping to locate something that she could also collect.

The pup was first to arrive, mostly in part to her loving to explore. The child was trying to understand her world and her new home. It was much different when she thought about the smaller territory of her mother. upon seeing Inferno, the child decided to get closer. The item that the older female had found made her head tilt.

"Hello.. What is that..?" She asked softly as she stood a little ways back. Swaying slightly as she studied the new item. Tail fluffed up as she was still a little nervous about possible dangers. After all, she was still a child with no fighting skills. "It is pretty though.." Whatever it was, it was pretty and looked sharp enough to be a weapon.

"hello zuriela. this i believe once used to be a piece of glass, but now it's as harmless as a bug. see how the edges are smoother now?" holding out the object to the younger animal. "i believe they're called mermaid's tears."

the explanation made her even more curious. ears perking as she leaned in to get a closer look, the pup would let out a soft gasp. "a mermaids tear..? i have never seen that before.." she admits as she looks up at the other. "what is a mermaid..?" she mused softly to herself.
