draekon hated the silence. he knew that it was getting late but it had been so noisy, so loud all day long that.. something felt wrong. it made his ears ring, made his body feel like static, and everything, even the snap of a twig under his feet felt like an intense pressure crushing his skull, but he needed the noise. he needed sound, he needed to hear what was going on around him..

he couldn’t stop pacing. he’d been going like this for ten minutes, wearing down a path in the dirt as he went. ten steps, turn, ten steps, turn.. it had been the size of his cage at the circus and pacing made it feel.. less small.. but now the world had no end, it seemed, if he kept walking one way he could probably go forever. grunts and huffs left the big cat, trying to calm his panic with his own noises but his ears didn’t seen to like that. they only pinned back against his skull, which only made his noises louder.

FOURTHWALL FALLOUT

Fourthwall had never felt small in the world. Then again, he hadn't lived the life that Draekon had. Fourth had been born to a massive pack of direwolves, to a low ranking outskirter female. He'd left her and his two siblings at around 6 months old and had never looked back- not because they hadn't treated him right or hadn't wanted him, but because Fourthwall was a monster in his own right. While he was happy to socialise and was active enough to always be doing something positive for the clan like patrolling or hunting, the fact remained that he had his own issues to tend to. Whatever wires were crossed in Fourth had always made it hard for him to connect and sympathize with others, and it was this that had caused a rift between his family in him. As cold as it sounded, Fourth hadn't cared for them at all. They were just people who had wanted something from him, and he had no interest in helping anyone but himself. It was selfish, but he'd never pretended to not be so. It had always been like this, and there were many people who called him heartless, cruel, and rude. And he could be those things sometimes, sure, just like he could be adventurous, playful, and loyal. People just had to stick around long enough to mean something was all.

There was no real issue keeping Fourth awake that night. No, he'd simply gotten bored earlier and napped when he shouldn't, resulting in a troublesome lack of wantinig to sleep now. It wouldn't have been so bad if there were people to bug or follow around, but the whole reason he'd passed out after his workout earlier was because the camp was so dead lately that there was nothing to do. And now, in the dead of night, things were no different. This had left him wandering the camp aimlessly, the silence defeaning in it's own right, until he heard something.

It was the shuffling of large paws dragging through the sand, and the low, distressed grunts of a large feline. His pace would quicken and as he came around the side of a clump of trees he found Draekon frantically pacing, blue eyes glazed over as if he were lost in his own head instead of aware of what was around him. He looked like he was about to snap, and Fourth didn't like it. Within the clan threats had to be controlled, and Draekon would have to learn to live with whatever demons were haunting him.

A very lionish huff would escape his dark lips to announce his presence, unthreatening but firm in its volume to make sure that the tiger heard him coming. "Keep your paws on, Stripes." the maned hound would say, not knowing the others name and finding nothing wrong with making a lame one up for him.  "What's wrong?" he'd ask, head cocking slightly. He still kept what he said to the other short and sweet because he wasn't really sure if they understood language or just body language.

draekon hadn’t excepted anyone to find him in his daze. another voice was nice, very nice. it almost made the ringing go away- keep your paws on stripes. he almost wanted to laugh. his stripes were hardly stripes. more.. blobs of black covering his fur. like someone had thrown black paint all over him.. that’s what it looked like. that’s what it felt like. ever his fur moving was too much to process.

whats wrong? everything was wrong, so wrong, too quiet, he couldn’t think straight-

“draekon.” that’s all he could muster before another grunt left him, and he had to stop his pacing to rub one of his ears. he hated it, he wanted the ringing to stop so badly and the talking was helping. his grunts weren’t enough anymore now that there was noise- real noise. he still felt like static.

“not stripes.”

The tiger was in luck if noise was what it wanted, because if there's one thing that the hybrid was well adept at, it was inserting himself into other peoples lives without their consent. He liked to talk, to bug people with nonesense, to just be with someone and have them there, for any purpose at all. He wasn't sure why, he'd never thought about it. What point would there be in doing so? Fourth was a simple guy. He didn't filter himself and he believed in enjoying the little things in life, which was why he seldom ever denied his impulses. This led to him having a fairly high level of unpredictability in many cases, but when you earned his loyalty you had nothing to fear from him. It just took a while to get there was all.

"So, he has a voice." the maned beast would say, dark lips splitting in a wide grin of satisfaction. "Thought you might have been some kind of feral for a while, which would have been cool but I'd get tired of my own voice eventually. Since, you know, you'd never answer me if that was the case."

As he'd been on the other occasions they'd met, there was an aloof casualness to the maned canine creature, the muscle and scars there to speak of a warrior, but a laid back attitude and informal way of speaking that made one think of a rebellious teenager more than they would anything else. And in a lot of ways Fourth was just that. While masculine, cunning, and extremely capable, he was a canine that was selfish and demanding and possessive in nature. He had a violent streak and an ill temper that slept beneath his careless demeanor and in his heart there were many things wrong that made him broken and jagged in their own way.

"I'm Fourthwall, by the way. What are you doing?" he'd say, venturing over to gestur at the pacing trail the other had been taking. Blunt as he was, he didn't care that it was awkward to point out someones weirdness or anxiety attack symptoms, but he didn't really have a sense of what was appropriate and what wasn't.
