Ever elongating feet scraped against the ground as she darted around the corner of a tree, snatching up the large rat she had been chasing her jaws clamping around it. Noises echoed through the forest, and whenever one of exact interest popped up the growing frill of feathers rose from the top of her head, just now noticeable in the last few weeks. The smell of blood drew her, not the blood of the rat or someone random animal but the blood of someone she knew! Quickly leaving her catch the raptor speed through the island until she skidded to a stop near the other female, making a creeing sort of noise as she tilted her head, the vocal cords she 'spoke' with seeming to have expanded. Goldie was hurt, and thanks to the picture book she had read the young raptor was not entirely daft on what so do this time unlike other times she had seen packmates bloody and injured.

"Golden." the raptor chittered out the name of the alpha softly, taking two steps forward to hover over the injured body. Amber optics blinking softly she lowered her body down to nuzzle the injured feline, hoping to get her attention. The older female needed to be treated, but the ever growing Masie also did not feel right leaving her alone either!

    Pip wasn't too late.

It ran as a mantra through his head as the young canine picked and stumbled his way through the undergrowth, determined to get to the scene and do his job, as it was very likely needed. This wouldn't be another Junji, gone before Pip could do anything. The memory spurred his legs faster, but he still had to be careful not to trip, considering how many of the containers in his satchel were glass; if he had to pick shards of it out of his side and limbs, it wasn't going to be a good day for anyone.

Making mistakes got people hurt or killed.

When he did make it, the ruckus subsiding, he hadn't expected to find Goldie. It was- unadvised for those with medical backgrounds to treat the people they cared about. Emotions could easily cloud judgment, could foster missteps, but there wasn't a choice, was there? If Pip hesitated, it could mean the difference between a full recovery and lasting problems. Still, he wasn't prepared. Not for Goldie, not for the telltale blood gathering at her hind. Pip inhaled deeply, calming his nerves, mismatched gaze shifting from her back to her face. "Excuse me," he murmured, gently nosing by Maise. "Goldie, you're gonna be okay. I want you to drink this- it's raspberry tea, it'll help with the bleeding." Pip pulled a small, sealed jar free from his bag, and poured it into a bowl that he set close to her face. The scrapes on her face and sides weren't too serious, but would still need disinfecting, so he retrieved the saline. "This will keep your scratches from infection." Carefully, he tipped it over the scrapes on her side, following it with a comfrey poultice. "Can you close your eyes so I can get the ones on your face?"

As Pip came up next to her and nudged her to take a single side step, the only thing going through her head was if Golden had always looked this small, that fragile. Really, not much thinking took place before observing the soothsayer overtook what was going on inside the creatures head. It was like watching some moving picture book, nearly. The things he was using weren't exactly in the picture book as the book father had gotten her was plant based, not a bottle of clear liquid and some sweet smelling tea. With focused amber optics the raptor rounded them once, settling down on Goldens other side tail wrapping around likely ending up past where Pip was sitting due to how large she had gotten. Amongst watching for danger with her long neck extended upwards, the young raptor briefly wondered why Pip was using that clear liquid instead of one of the plants she had seen in her book, but she was more concerned with the fact there could still be a threat and she was the largest one here. If anything dangerous came out of the brush? It was now her job to protect them.
