was it safe to be outside as prey? probably not. especially as a small child. yet, he knew that merlin was nearby and was making an effort to get to her. the child needed their mother. they were lonely and bored. that and grass was hard to find. at least close to home.

so the steps of the child, loud as most kids were, headed towards where that npc told him mother was. each hooved foot crushing dead grasses and sticks. ears swiveling as he searched for mother. search and search.
