IT'S THE MOMENT OF TRUTH, AND THE MOMENT TO LIE - ꧂
he was finally back in his horse form and he was glad. not that he hated being a cat, but he did hate being weaker to larger things. how could he ever protect inferno if things went bad? he may have seemed confident, but he was anything but.
he can fool anyone into thinking he was confident, most of the time. today was not one of those times. the sound of hooves with a smell he knew very well. a smell he dreaded crossing again. he let his eyes flick over to the place he heard. head raising from his grazing.
and there stood the stallion he knew would one day come. father. the word was cold and angry in tone. ears flicking back as he let his head rise all the way. nostrils flaring. the stallion would not take his eyes of the black stallion that was his father.
'are you afraid son? i thought you would be ready for this by now.'
the words made him stamp a hoof and let out a sharp huff. i am not afraid of you. i'm not a colt anymore. i'm never going to back down again. he snapped back as he eyed the stallion. watching to see his first move.
yet, his father laughed. laughed and turned. trotting off with parting words. 'sleep with one eye open.'
