YOU KNOW WHICH STARS BELONG,
He has been gone so long. Too long. That is impossible for Love to deny as he stares out over the horizon, green eyes gleaming with pain, and regret. He had spent months on Haven Island, barely clinging on to life, and for what? For some scrap of ill-gotten fame? To find himself? All he had found was new traumas. New nightmares that haunted the hours where he wasn't awake, visions of his mother's body laid out in the sand. His journey had been a doomed one from the start, and now he came back to his entire life crumbling down around him. His mother was gone, instead replaced with some copy with none of her memories. She didn't even recognize him. She didn't recognize any of them, anymore. Instead, she was an entirely different person, and he was left without a mother. The proud captain that he had loved so much had vanished, and the worst part was that he hadn't even been there for her. He could've been there for the last couple of months before what had happened. He could've forged new memories with her, and been able to cling onto them in this time of grief. Instead, he got to cling to what scraps he truly had, his own struggles brought on by his own stupidity.
The ocean brought no comfort as he stared out at it, green gaze faintly burning with tears. He reflected back on what had happened when he had returned, barely conscious and swaying on the shore. Roxie had been so angry, and rightfully so. He knew that he had made a mistake, and truthfully... he knew that he deserved every word that she had said. She was right. He was the one at fault, and he deserved everything that she had snapped at him, driven by anger and indignation at his actions. The name she had given him burned heavy on his tongue, feeling like chains down to the deepest part of the sea. Lovefool. It was appropriate, at least in his mind. Still, it made his heart ache to think about, knowing that he had only brought more disappointment onto his family name. He had gone out to Haven Island to try and make Goldie proud, but instead he had only dragged everything down with him. Now, he carried a name that would be a blemish on the family tree for the rest of his life.
The hybrid felt bile raise in the back of his throat, claws slipping out from his paw as he sat at the edge of the water. With a shout of anger and agony, the boy lashed out at the waves, watching as he disrupted a small portion of the ocean blue. His hit only managed to scatter a few stray droplets into the air before he left his head fall, breath hitching. He muttered to himself, voice thick with emotion as he spoke solemnly, "I really am a fool..." Part of him just wanted to throw himself into the ocean blue, just so that Goldie wouldn't be forced to deal with him as she recovered. Perhaps that would be the only act of honor he pulled off for his family.
