Most of the time that just meant keeping his distance and being a good kid, letting his mama get some well needed rest where she didn't have to worry about him. Sometimes it meant watching the little kits with Uncle Michael while they were getting big, or going to get some food when everyone was busy. He had never really minded doing these things, since he had already been beginning to learn how to be a bit more independent before his siblings had come along, and helping with them had only pushed this further. The apprentice wasn't so far along yet that he was exactly itching to move out of the house – although it could get a bit cramped, what with all of the kits and his uncles and cousin and grandfathers occasionally visiting – but it also meant that all he really needed was himself... and perhaps Brunhild and Kal. He always felt bad taking the reptiles away from his mother, but seeing as she didn't want him to go too far on his own, even at six months, it was sort of a necessary precaution.
One of the ways that Roan had been practicing his newly blossoming independence as of late was with his medic aspirations. Ever since Goldie had announced that they were in need of new medics with the seeming disappearance of Idyll, the siamese had found himself intrigued. He had already found medicine fascinating after what he had learned from Rosemary, but after that? He had truly thrown himself into it, even hosting his own lesson on broken bones. Now, he was still trying to learn as much as possible before Goldie announced who would actually be getting the position – or positions – within the group. As such, he had gone scouring the Typhoon's territory with Kal and Brunhild, picking up not only a bunch of books on medicine for reference, but also some herbs as well. When he returned home around midday after his little adventure, he had a satchel clenched in his jaws that was full of books and herbs, and he smelled strongly of both saltwater and the rainforest. Pushing his way inside of his home, he was somewhat surprised to see Trygve was in, used to his new little brother wanting to explore. Smiling a bit, the apprentice plopped the satchel down on the floor before he greeted, waving his tail in the air, "Trygve! Hi! You're not out on the beach?"
