ROMAN
Roman was still getting used to leaving the nest on his own, and while his "siblings" seemed to be sprouting very distinct personalities of their own, the boy didn't seem to vary too much in any direction. Yes, as he grew older he certainly grew more beautiful, his metallic gold fur more on display, but sometimes it might seem that beauty was all there was to the young betta. At times he seemed as distant and expressionless as a statue, with little impressions and less to say. But perhaps it was simply that he could not decide what he was supposed to feel. Sometimes, in the face of terrible things, his heart sang... but he felt equally as alive in the face of gentle caring and affection. They were dual impulses and draws that he did not quite understand, and with little interaction with others at his young age, there was not much else to shape his persona into anything more meaningful than beauty and confusion.
They were starting to explore now, though, and Roman consistently found himself several steps behind either Goldie or Blue, taking comfort in their familiarity. He didn't feel the same draw to Guru that he did towards Pincher, paradoxically, but he also wasn't likely to avoid her. As he caught up to the rest of the group, Ro shifted forward on delicate paws, brushing up against Goldie as he sniffed curiously at the treat this stranger had given her. This foreigner seemed kind -- his aura was a good one, and Roman felt a flush of warmth towards him. "Hello," he said, voice smooth and soft, "What're you feeding her? Are these for us?"
