just to mess with flo and chate: ShowHide
If she were to say the past few days were easy, she would be lying. Something had changed within her. Everything felt colder. Darker. It was odd considering it was spring. She had ignored it for as long as she could. It was easy until she met her.

Her.

"You're searching for something. Someone."

It was true. Suiteheart had been searching desperately for the souls. She needed Lil, Lissa, and Eli. She had had such hope in her heart when she found Margaery, but she was beginning to be crushed. Her mood was gray. She couldn't seem to be lifted. And this stranger... They knew that.

"I can help you, you know?" the flame-colored feline said, voice calm and kind. She even offered a gentle smile. "You're tired. I can help you, but you have to help me first. And then you can rest, having found what you are looking for."

She seemed so kind, so welcoming. Suiteheart trusted her. She had to. This creature knew something. "Who are you? How did you find me?"

The creature shook her head. "It's a secret. But it's okay. You're looking for Lil, right? Lilyspoise? I know where she is. And I know how to get the other two: Lissa and Eli. You want to find them, right?"

"But... I don't understand. How do you know them? How did you-" Suiteheart wanted to bombard the ginger creature with questions, but she was cut short.

"Not important." Her voice had somehow shifted. It was harder now, less gentle. "Here's the thing: I require a high price for giving information. And anyway, it's a price you'll have to pay. I know you live in the Ascendants. With Margaery. I know you two are lying to everyone. I can easily spill these secrets. I can easily hurt your wife. And I can easily make sure you never see your children again." A sick smile unfurled upon the stranger's lips, making Suiteheart shudder. "Now, now. No need to be so scared! I'm not scary. But my friends are. They're the one's who've helped me find this information. And my friends need something big from you."

Suiteheart frowned heavily. This was all too much... Her head was spinning. How did this girl know so much? Who the hell was she? But still... Suite needed to make sure her wife would be okay. She needed to find her children and to make sure they were safe. She needed them all to be okay, even at the greatest of all sacrifices.

"I don't understand..." she murmured. "How do you know so much?"

"I have friends in high places. And I've got friends in low places." The feline sat herself down, neatly wrapping her tail around her paws. She offered Suiteheart a gentle smile, but its undertones were so sinister it stirred Suite to her core. "Would you like to hear my price?"

Suiteheart inhaled deeply. She let the idea float around in her mind. Could she live with it? If it meant the safety of her wife and children and their reunion, she would live with and pay any price. She would have to. It was not out of the question. "Yes."

The being smiled that sick smile once more. "Great," she purred. "All I need is your soul. You'll still be here, but you will be mine. You'll do as I say. Forever. Simple as that. Do you accept?"

"Wait - I - but... I - I don't..." She watched as the feline arched an eyebrow.

"Oh, it's okay. I guess I'll be seeing you around, Suiteheart Folie. Say hello to your lovely wife for me. Maybe I'll find her instead. I'm sure she would give anything for her family. She obviously cares more than you." With that, the orange cat stood and began to walk off.

Suiteheart's eye grew wide. She... She couldn't let Margaery do this. No. She wouldn't allow it. The ivory feline called, "I-I accept." Her baby blue eyes fell to the floor. What would happen now?

"Perfect. Simply perfect."

A shot of absolute pain ripped through Suiteheart. The girl let out a wail. She began to grit her teeth as the other feline giggled. The world around her grew dim. It was darkening. Her chest hurt. Her head her. Her entire being screamed in pain.

And just like that, there was nothing.

The lifeless form of Suiteheart slammed to the floor. There was nothing. The body was lifeless. Empty.

"Did I say you'd live? Oops." the stranger giggled, turning to walk away. Such easy, simple work. It was almost pathetic at how quickly Suiteheart caved in. Oh, well, her soul would make an excellent present for the beast. He would enjoy this one, she was sure.

But her work was never done, was it? So off she went in search of more. All that was left was for Grassina to witness the reactions of her friends. This was a great joke, wasn't it? And to the two nerds reading this: it's just a joke. Suite still lives.

bear plot: ShowHide
For Suiteheart, things seemed to be looking up; she had a good home, she had found her wife, and she was actively searching for the souls. Though no crucial leads had surfaced, the area for exploration were decreasing everyday which meant Suite was getting closer to finding her children. Despite all the bad things that had transpired in the past year, things were genuinely getting better, easier.

These thoughts of good fortune swirled in her head, making her feel light. She decided to use these positive thoughts while searching for her children. She had traveled north and east already, so she was headed south. Surely, she would find something. She even carried a small bag with her that held the charm bracelets she had made for her kids in the event that she found them.

A sudden but far-off rustling sound caused her ears to perk, and she stopped moving. After having almost been ran over by Hazel's colt, she was not trying to be trampled today. She swiveled her head to the left, searching for the source of the noise. The scent that drifted to her was not that of the pony. No, it was something entirely different. In fact, the smell brought up a sense of dread in her, yet she could not tell why. 'What the hell could this be?' Suite wondered, trying not to let her curiosity get the better of her.

Despite her better judgement, she crept toward the sounds. Every fiber of her being demanded that she turn around, but she couldn't. It was as if she were drawn forward. Though she knew what she would come across would not be good, she could not stop herself; she had to be certain. She needed to exterminate the idea that was beginning to circulate in her mind.

'Not here,' she thought, a stern look on her face. 'There's no way.' It didn't seem possible, but maybe it was.

Glimpses of white fur could be seen here and there through the dense foliage that engulfed her. The trees around her made Suite think herself extremely small, but the creature ahead of her was massive. Panic arose in her chest as her true fears were realized: it was a bear.

It was not just any bear, however. No, it was a polar bear. She had no idea how this bear had gotten here, but it made her uneasy to even begin to think about. As her worry heightened, her vision began to darken. Her head was pounding. Suiteheart's legs almost gave out, causing her to stumble with a loud crash.

The bear whipped its head around, now having a clear shot of Suite. Baby blue eyes grew wide with a panic as she stumbled backwards. The mighty creature roared at her, taking a step forward. Before Suite could see what happened next, she hit the ground beneath her, unconscious.

---

Suiteheart awoke with a start. The dream she had had felt so real... It was terrifying. The last incident with a bear had left her absolutely scarred. She was thankful it was just a nightmare. If it had been real, she wasn't sure she would know what to do.

The female scanned the area around her, and she suddenly became very aware that she was not inside the Observatory. Confusion set in almost at once. Where the hell was she? It looked just like her dream, but the bear was nowhere to be seen. A bright pain stung her head, and she winced. Lifting a paw upward to hold her head, she -

The observer froze in place. Her eyes widened as she moved her paw in front of her face to see it was changed. Her usually petite white paws were now massive. Jet-black claws jutted out of them too. She looked down at her form, begging and praying it was not what she thought it to be.

And yet it was.

Suiteheart had shifted into a polar bear.

"Change back, you fucking idiot!" she roared. This was her worst nightmare come true. To be stuck in a bear's body... This... No. How could her powers return to her to betray her again? She cursed anyone and everyone she could think of. This wasn't fucking fair!

Maybe she just needed to concentrate. Suiteheart closed her eyes, and she waited. But nothing happened. There was no going back. She was stuck. "No. No. Nononononononono!" the usually calm and collected girl hollered. "I can't change back..." she murmured to no one, voice small and terrified.

She was a long, long ways away from home. The reality in which she had once lived was vastly different from this one, and she cursed Adelaide to the high heavens for altering her appearance again. A deep, agitated sigh fell from her lips. First a blue bird and now a red heeler? Why couldn't she have just remained a human?

She shook her head; she shouldn't have ventured so deeply into the unknown. She shouldn't have searched so hard to find Wirt and Greg. Her mistake, she supposed. Dark brown eyes rolled mightily. 'That's what you get for trying to be the good guy, Beactrice.' Well, no more of that, she would tell herself. She hadn't been good in a long, long while.

The beasts was a persuasive creature by nature, and the ginger canine was not strong enough to fend of his powers. She had been manipulated, but it was unsurprising. For weeks, she had gone through with his biddings. She had done everything he asked, and in return, she received information on the whereabouts of her friends. Recently, he had promised her their safety should she collect the third soul of that tri-souled creature from the Typhoon. And this was the reason her paws carried her to Tanglewood. Natural enemies? What was easier? She smirked.

"My name is Beatrice," she barked, voice loud, confident. "I'm here to join."

big prom au: ShowHide
Well, shit. Was senior year almost over already? Oh, no! Whatever would Shay do?

Shay couldn't be more ready for the end of senior year. This fact wasn't because her school year had been terrible - no, it was actually the best year on record. The girl was just tired of the same thing day in and out. She was ready for change, for college. And she was ready to move in with Margaret finally. Both things were going to be fucking amazing.

Despite all the hurrying up to finish high school, she was extremely excited about prom. Aside from graduation and the last few high school parties, prom was the only thing left to cross off on her list. And this year was going to be amazing; it was already better than last year for a number of reasons.

Hell, she and Margaret were even fashionably late. Such clichés... And not because of anything important. No, it was because Shay's mother had insisted on taking one million pictures. But she couldn't blame her mother. Not entirely anyway. Shay supposed she should also blame herself as she took Margaret to a good restaurant with unfortunately slow service. The pair had still had fun, and they were totally going to tell everyone the lateness on their part had been intentional.

A smile danced on her pink lips as she entered the dance, holding Margaret's hand. They matched extremely well this year too. Marg wore a stunning, long, dusty rose dress, and Shay wore a tuxedo in the same pink hue. Shay's hair was long and curled just slightly so there was a gentle wave to it. Her makeup was simple, natural but beautiful. The pair looked absolutely stunning (and Shay was really happy she'd been confident enough to wear a tux this year, instead of a dress like she had the previous year).

"Happy last prom," she said to her date over the pop music and conversing couples and friends alike. "I'm glad my last one gets to be with you." Her smile was still so incredibly bright.

Baby blue eyes left Margaret for a moment to search for her friends. She'd seen all the promposals, and she couldn't wait to see all the dates. This was going to be great!

"Well, I guess it's a damn good thing you're not leading the way then," the short, obsidian wolf retorted, voice heavy with annoyance. The words were directed at his traveling companion - a very tall coyote. The size differences were almost comical, but it somewhat mimicked their former human selves. The dark wolf supposed he should be used to this type of unfairness, for even in this form, he could not win.

Tim let out a sigh as they continued onwards, nearing the snowy tundra of Snowbound. The winds had become harsh and freezing, even for near summer. The wolf narrowed his eyes as everything suddenly became cold. He was not used to this. Not at all. Had they taken a wrong turn? God, they probably had. Before his companion, Brian, could mouth something, he barked, "Don't say anything. I know where we're going."

His eyes shifted from the cold place to the coyote for a few heartbeats, wondering if this were all really worth it. When they had last parted ways, he had killed the other. Granted, he had not meant to, but it had happened. He had been in anguish over that for some time, but after succumbing to his own cruel end, he found this existence was punishment enough. Brian hated him now, he was sure. The only real reason they were together again (as far as Tim knew) was because they had formed somewhat of a rocky truce. Nevertheless, fighting had ensued immediately. They bickered about everything. Always.

"Oh, and how is this just my fault?" he growled, arching a metaphorical eyebrow. "You're the one who said we should take that stupid shortcut. If we hadn't gone that way, we probably would've been there by now." His eyes were narrowed as he spoke, not looking at the other.

Brian continued mouthing words, and Tim was growing increasingly aggravated as the duo encroached upon the border. In fact, he was so peeved that he had scarcely noticed the scent markers. Luckily, he had stopped just before the boundary, whirling around to face the taller being. "You make me so angry sometimes, my God," he said, fur bristling. "Sometimes, you make me glad that I pushed you," he added, words spat with venom. He knew that was a sore spot for Brian, but did he care? Well, actually, kind of. But the words were there, and there was no time to take them back.

A fight had long since been brewing, and now, surely it would begin.
