Put simply, Suiteheart was exhausted. The death of Margaery had permanently scarred her. Even if she woke up one day and was not consumed by grief and longing, the white feline would carry scars of what had happened until the day she left this earth. To have someone you loved pass away was cruel enough, but when they were part of your soul, it was a million times worse. The pain was indescribable, and even her nighttime trips to the coast with Cooper could not quell her racing mind and crushed heart. The waves she once loved to be surrounded by made her feel like she was drowning, and the moon appeared dimmer and the stars seemed to have burned out.

It was funny how all the beauty in the world could evaporate the moment the one thing you were living for died.

It was late now. Suiteheart knew the sun would be rising soon, but she knew it would not extinguish the shadows that loomed over her heart and mind. She allowed her eyes to close after she checked on her slumbering newborns. The bed she had shared with Margaery was so empty now, and Suite found herself sleeping on the side Margaery called her own. The other's scent lingered there, but even that was fading. The white feline had fallen asleep with tears in her eyes as she clutched desperately onto Margaery's pendant.

Her dreams were no nicer. Since her wife's passing, everything in her sleep was darker and more vivid. It felt as though she were truly living through the things now, and she recalled every intimate detail of these new breeds of nightmares. She easily remembered those eyes of emerald, the curses and threats their owner made. She knew his name started with an 'N,' but that was all her mind allowed her to know. Other than that, the only certainty in her dreams was that she was going to be killed by the mysterious figure with the burning eyes full of hate. Sometimes, she saw a girl with eyes full of stormy skies and freshwater seas.

Tonight, she saw that girl.

The setting was in a clearing, and she was sat in a heap of wildflowers. The trees around her and the girl were full of new growth and life, and it was obvious it was spring. The girl with those familiar eyes was laughing and smiling at something Suite had said. The other called her 'Hyacinth," and to this, Suiteheart's face contorted in confusion. The ragdoll's laugh was like tinkling bells as she asked her mess-up to be excused before referring to her as "Erlend." This only added to the confusion, but before she could ask, the pretty woman was humming as she picked flowers.

In her dream, Suiteheart took up the tune easily, picking a few red flowers. After taking hold of the prettiest one, she placed it behind the other's ear. The air felt light and easy, and warmth flooded her systems. She recognized this feeling: peace. That only made the smile on her face blossom further. Along with the soon-to-be-summer, love was in the air. For the first time, she felt the weight of a ring on a chain around her neck. That was right. She was engaged. She had to be engaged to that gray-blue-eyed beauty in front of her.

She opened her mouth to ask something, but she stopped in her tracks as she noticed the look on the other's face. The girl's eyes widened in shock, horror, and betrayal as she looked upon something Suiteheart could not see. She felt a paw reach for hers, and Suite held onto it tightly. The terror on her lover's face was bright and too real, and Suiteheart felt tears prick her eyes. She could feel the air change around her. The heat of spring was gone. There was no warmth here. Death stood behind her, an immovable force, but she did not want to accept her fate. Instead, she lurched forward, attempting to hug the fae. However, before they had the chance to embrace one final time, Suite was ripped away. A scream escaped her throat though it was quickly silenced as she was thrown to the ground.

Her attacker, the man with horrible green eyes, simply laughed as she struggled to rise. The girl, her lover, cried out for this to stop. Her attacker refused to listen as he placed a paw on her throat. Suiteheart struggled to breathe, and before she could do something - anything -, his claws had unsheathed, tearing into her, and killing her.

Suiteheart woke up screaming and blinded by tears. She instinctively reached for Margaery, and the Ecliptic Admiral remembered too late that her wife was gone for good. It felt like her heart was breaking all over again. She was haunted by the memory of Margaery. The ghost of her wife clung to Suiteheart. The white feline could not even bear to rid herself of the thought of it, for it might mean Margaery would be lost forever in her mind.

Knowing she could not remain in the room for another second, she quickly soothed her children back to sleep, and slipped out of her room. Gently shutting the door behind her, the white feline sank against the cold metal and wondered if any of this would ever end. A petite paw rose to take hold of Margaery's pendant, and in that moment, she knew this was only the beginning.
