WHEN I WAS DOWN ☆ injured - wormwood. - 08-03-2020

( this is the follow up to a one shot ill hopefully be writing soon, but basically the tl;dr of that is that Aurum went back to the home of his old pride, only to find them destroyed and taken over by a hyena pack they had been at war with, and then some of the hyenas found and attacked him )

He had thought that going to visit his old pride would be relatively stress free. He could still remember the way back to their sprawling abandoned city quite clearly, and he had thought that, even if he hadn't ever missed them, he could have some sense of closure. He hadn't been particularly worried about any outright hostility either, seeing as he knew that Judith was gone, and no longer spreading poison about him amongst the denizens of the lion pride. However, he had never considered that, perhaps, the pride would no longer exist. He had figured that, even without he and the rest of his family to lead, someone else would step up, and make sure that things were handled. It had only seemed natural to him, especially after so much time of living in Tanglewood. Unfortunately, when he had stepped over the usual border of his former home, and found that he could scent no sort of scent line in the air from anytime recently, he had known that something was very wrong. His suspicions had only been further confirmed as he walked through empty streets, one blue eye focused on the tall abandoned buildings all around, calling out the names of what few old pridemates he could actually remember. There had been no response, and he had been left with the chilling realization that there was... nothing. Nothing left, of the place where he had been born.

That alone would've been enough to leave the angel slightly unnerved once he made it back to Tanglewood, but he hadn't gotten the chance to leave the territory peacefully. Just as he had been heading back towards the edge of the city, he had heard frantic pawsteps – many of them. Far too many. It was then that the hyenas had revealed themselves all glistening sharp teeth and wild, furious eyes. They had given him no time to explain, as they had been on him before he knew it, chomping and scratching at anything and everything that they could reach. They were overwhelming, but he had still managed to fight them off, having both size and power on his side. There might have been several more of them than there were of him, but none of them had fire elementals. All it had taken was a moment of strong concentration, and then one of them had been up in flames, howling and shrieking wildly as they stumbled back into the others. The group of hyenas had dispersed quickly after that, either trying to snuff out the flames that had enveloped the other, or desperately trying to get away. Either way, it gave Aurum the chance to escape, the shaderunner taking off into the sky despite the heaviness that gripped him.

Making it back to Tanglewood had been no easy task, considering the bites and scratches that littered his body, making every flap of his wings a rather extreme achievement. He had made it, however, even through the pain, and soon enough he found himself collapsing on the border, breath coming out in heavy pants. His wings flopped down limply on either side of him, similarly injured just as the rest of him was. He could only hope that none of the hyenas had rabies, even though he had seen none of the usual telltale signs of the disease. Grunting in pain, the angel managed to push himself up for long enough to shout, his chest aching with the action, "Vigenere! Delilah! A-Anybody! I need... I need help...!" After he had completed his call, the shaderunner practically collapsed back down onto the soft ground, his chin resting against the earth below as he waited for anyone to come.

Oh, how Vigenere could relate to the feeling of homesickness. Unfortunately for him, going back home wasn't exactly an easy task, considering the entire dimension had collapsed. He wished he could visit his old home, maybe even visit Athena's grave - and to give his parents a proper burial. That simply wasn't going to happen and it was a fact Vigenere tried to avoid thinking about often.

Thankfully for Aurum though, today was one of the days where Vigenere wasn't horribly busy and had taken it upon himself to patrol Tanglewood's territory. It wasn't hard to notice that the lion had gone missing and that was also partially why Vigenere made sure he was out-and-about today. What he wasn't expecting, however, was Aurum collapsing close to their border. Hearing the Shaderunner's shouts, Vigenere tensed up and whipped around, trying to follow where he thought Aurum's shouting had come from.

"Fuck, what happened?" The smell of blood was strong, although from what Vigenere could tell, nothing was thankfully life-threatening. Still, Aurum definitely needed medical attention - unfortunately, Vigenere didn't exactly know much other than to get the wounds clean and find some way to make sure Aurum didn't bleed out. " [member=1277]DELILAH.[/member] - Aurum's injured. Get here as soon as possible." He attempted to call out to the dragoness telepathically, before focusing once more on Aurum.

"Did The Pitt get to you?" Vigenere asked, lowering himself to Aurum's level to try and offer the larger feline some sort of weight to press against. It certainly wouldn't be much, considering the size different, but hopefully it could achieve something. He couldn't smell the scent of the desert-dwelling group, but that didn't mean that it wasn't hidden by the sharp tang of blood.[glow=COLOR,1,400]✧*:・゚[/glow]

Re: WHEN I WAS DOWN ☆ injured - DELILAH. - 08-03-2020

DELILAH EVERGARDEN
"The Gods have forsaken us."
Aurum's injured.

It was a voice so familiar- level-headed yet panicky at the same time. A fierce need to protect, yet surprise nonetheless.

Dishes clattered at the dragons feet as she rummaged through her drawers and grabbed enough bandages and medication for the wounds. And then, with a sound like a crack of thunder, her wings spread and the woman launched herself from her treehouse.

The scent of her friends carried her over, the surprised croon that left her lips when her landing was a bit slumped. The wyvern made her way over to the winged man and carefully examined the wounds given.

Bite marks. She'd need to test if any bones in the wings had been cracked somehow.

"Do you feel your wings? Can you try to move them for me? Jesus, no.. This scent isn't of any Clans that we know of. It was a group, look at how these bites are laid out."

Delilah rumbled softly, settling dandelion leaves on the ground in front of Aurum, Goldenrod floating beside her before she dropped it in her mouth and started to chew. Already used to the taste, the woman got to work cleaning and plastering any open wounds she could find that weren't bite marks.

"I'm going to need to use a few hours of x-ray vision to check on his bones.. "

for a moment when the cry had gone up, the War wolf had thought that perhaps the Pitt had struck out again - but no it seemed to be an unlabelled group - a rogue band Aurum was unlucky enough to be injured by.

Fenris browns drew in concern as he approached and he carefully nudged at Delilah’s shoulder with a single claw ”do you need me to fetch anything that might help?” he was rather useless otherwise - but he was good for fetching and carrying, or holding someone - or even ferrying the injured if need be.
