Most of the herbs that were in his books were there, anyway. The flowers didn’t have much of a purpose, but he had been keeping them for his sister who seemed unlikely to return. Still, sometimes he looked around the territory for things he had never seen, and sometimes he found them.

Today, the young sawbones found himself in a part of the territory he had never been in. There was an occasional house, but for the most part it seemed fairly empty. Maybe there’d be a new plant somewhere? Selby continued on, hopeful that he might make a discovery.

Eventually, Selby came to another home. This, in and of itself, was not strange. However, just as he came around the bend, he could see a garden, not unlike his own. Unlike his own, though, he could see some plants he had never seen before. Gaping, he stood there silently, not sure what to do. Obviously he couldn’t just go into the garden and dig up the plants. That would be rude, plus he didn’t even know how to properly take care of them.

So, Selby instead went up to the door and gave two quick, firm knocks and waited.

It was an odd feeling; the excitement of having visitors after so long of not having anyone to talk to. Her only company being the demon that she shared her body with, as gruesome as Lilith could be at times.

Normally when someone came to her doorstep, they had been attacked by the alligators that roam around her yard. However, the knock on the door wasn't an urgent sounding one, so of course, Delilah's ears perked up in interest.

"I'll be right over! Let me just-" The loud, yet gentle voice of Delilah called out as she felt her way down the rickety stairs, the wood creaking under her three paws as she hopped down. Blind, pale pink eyes surveyed nothing, her tail tapping around everything before she made a quick dash over to her door, nearly slamming into it before telekinesis pushed the door open, the pastel feline covered head to toe in raspberry vines and thorns from her attempts at de-leafing them.

"Welcome, Selby! For what do I deserve your visit for today?" Delilah chimed cheerfully, the scent of Crow's child hitting her nose pleasantly. It was pleasing to have some company for once..

This was her house? It shouldn’t have surprised him so much, especially since the pink feline seemed like the type to enjoy gardening. "Hello, Delilah! I had no idea that this was your home, and I’m very sorry to come uninvited like this—" he began, before taking in her disheveled appearance.

"Do you need some help with the, ah, vines?" he asked, not recognizing the plant. Which, he supposed, was the exact reason he had knocked on her door in the first place. "What kind of plant is it? I have a garden too, but I’ve never seen that one before...” He trailed off, gently reaching forward to examine a leaf. Round and triangular with distinctive ridges. The plant smelled nice, but he still couldn’t place a name to the vine.

Delilah was pleased that the male had been so interested in the fact that she had a garden- Nobody ever noticed the fact that she grew such odd plants, took care of them so well. The pastel felidae supposed that it was easier that way, so nobody would come and steal her herbs. They were rare herbs, ones that were harder to find due to the season and habitat they lived in. However, Delilah managed- her earth elementals allowed her to grow certain plants every once in a while and reap some seeds from them.

Lifting up a paw, Delilah laughed softly when she remembered just what she had been doing before. Her ear flicked, telekinesis tugging a raspberry leaf off of the vine and holding it out for the other to take if he wished to.
"They're raspberry vines- The leaves can be picked and ground into a fine powder or chewed, helps with bleeding and pain. My mother used them for birthings that went wrong." She meowed softly, hissing a little when a thorn pricked her side a bit. "The vines have pretty sharp thorns on them, so be careful-" She added, stepping out of her home and closing her door behind her, a basket floating at her side that she had lifted up.

"Raspberry bushes are normally not found in our territory due to the swamp's toxic radiation, but I've managed to germinate a few seeds in my home and get them to mutate just enough to cope with the radiation-"

[align=center][div style="width: 51%; text-align: justify; font-size: 10pt; letter-spacing: -1px; font-family: georgia;"]Selby hummed lowly to himself as Delilah offered the leaf, accepting it from her graciously. No one else had such an extensive garden. He knew that his father occasionally grew herbs or mushrooms, but it was nothing like this. The sawbone held the small leaf up to the sun, examining the veins. Raspberries, huh? He’d read about the berries before, but never had heard anything about the plant itself. It seemed amazing that the little leaves could do so much.

"Wow, Delilah," he said slowly, processing everything she’d said. Bleeding and pain, could be used during childbirth. "You know a lot about plants. You must care about them a lot." Selby thought about his position as sawbone, and though he knew lots about the plants in his own garden, he knew there were lots of things in medicine that he knew nothing about. Things that Delilah seemed to know a lot about. "Would you mind— I mean, if you’re not busy or anything— telling me about some of the other plants?" he asked carefully, not wishing to offend or displease.
