[div style="width: 480px; text-align: justify; font-family: verdana; font-size: 12pt; line-height: 13px;"]swamps and forest weren't a lion's natural habitat- that was one thing the young male knew. then again, neither was his original home, either. his home had been cold, rainy.. it wasn't the natural habitat of a lion in any sense of the word, but this heat was something that poet didn't enjoy. his fur was too thick for this. and the mud caked over his paws wasn't helping any.he had stopped at a tree, having wandered through the swamp for long enough and deciding he needed to rest before he fell unconscious. it might happen either way, he thought to himself, holding no mental barrier to hide his thoughts, not thinking any telepaths might be here. he began to wipe his large paws off on one of the many trees around him, trying to get the mud from his fur and not wanting to lick it straight off, however, this proved harder then he had initially thought it would. "ah, damn," he began, voice hushed and gentle, "looks like i'll have to wash off later." Re: [ HE WILL TEAR YOUR CITY DOWN ] joining - MYERS - 07-27-2019 [align=center][div style="text-align:justify;width:65%;font-family:verdana;"]Michael wasn't sure if anyone should be living here. Between the pollution-ridden marshland, the landfill on the outskirts, and the massive crater that made his head ache every time he stayed too close for too long, this place was far from habitable. And, yet, here they stayed, strange bunch that they were. He reasoned that this was as good as he deserved: he knew no other group in the area, and figured none of them would be keen on his kind. What that was, exactly, he wasn't sure, but the faint ringing in his ears and dull feeling of guilt that clung to his every thought gave him a clue. He's walking because he can, because nobody is telling him not to. About a month prior, he was but a hostage under the scrutiny of a stranger who claimed to be a doctor - every step he took was monitored, every twitch of his ear a sign of something terrible, every breath too hot or too shallow or too aggressive. Everything Michael had done was a mistake, a sign of some crucial flaw that made him a monster which needed to be contained. Now, free to do as he pleased, he constantly felt as though all eyes were on him: thus he hid in the shadows, lurked just out of sight. He felt safer when he was the only aware of his own whereabouts. It's as he plods through the mud, picking up each paw just to hear the faint suck of wet clay and debris underfoot, that he comes across an unfamiliar scent. And, in following this scent rather blindly, he bumps right into the chest of a stranger - a large stranger, much taller than his canid frame. Michael steps back, eyes narrowing ever-so-slightly, and allows himself a good look at the newcomer. He would ask what they want, who they are - but the words stick in his dry throat and escape his half-parted mouth as a faint wheeze. Instead, he tilts his head in question. That ought to say enough. [div style="width: 480px; text-align: justify; font-family: verdana; font-size: 12pt; line-height: 13px;"]the feeling of someone bumping right into him startled him into reality. shifting so he could get a good look at the stranger, he would dip his head a bit, offering as much of a smile as lions really could. this guy didn't look too good, but he had more then enough manners not to say a word about the other's condition."im very sorry, sir, i would've moved if i had seen you." he stated, knowing that he certainly would have. he didn't like feeling like he was in someone's way. "im poetking. do you, by chance, live here? or somewhere nearby? or are you simply a wanderer like me?" he inquired, offering another little smile. Re: [ HE WILL TEAR YOUR CITY DOWN ] joining - DELILAH. - 07-28-2019 Delilah Evergarden
tanglewood | 23 m/o | femme | dark faerie "Who is that?" A stranger- the last time a stranger had come to tanglewood when she was alive, it was her murderer. She wanted no part in that. Again. It was a male, though. She didn't know what breed or species- "You've stumbled upon Tanglewood. This is our swamp. I'm Delilah, this boy right here is.. Michael, I think? How can we help you?" The blind felidae made soft mewing clicking sounds, sort of an odd communication method- nobody would probably pick up on it, but she was sure she'd sound a bit odd. The cherry blossoms that wafted from her pelt told a different story- those from long past knew what the scent meant due to living in a toxic swamp. "Are you injured anywhere?" tags: Re: [ HE WILL TEAR YOUR CITY DOWN ] joining - MYERS - 07-28-2019 [align=center][div style="text-align:justify;width:65%;font-family:verdana;"]He's used to being the tallest in the room - his stature for a wolf was well past average. Looking up at Poetking was a little intimidating for someone who was so used to looking down on his surroundings. Michael remains silent, the slight flick of his ears the only sign of acknowledgement he offered at the lion's words; he flexes his paws, feels the mud between his claws as something of a grounding mechanism. Strangers are not his friends. Poetking, he calls himself. It's too many syllables, he thinks, too many sounds that tangle in his throat, enough to make him choke. He doesn't like to be heard, and making listless attempts at saying simple words - a failure that'll prompt more ridicule, he thinks - isn't worth his time. A female approaches, and as he listens to the gentle click of her voice he decides he isn't going to try with her, either. She calls him a boy. A child. His jaw tightens as he cuts a glance in Delilah's direction. Michael looks back to Poetking, awaiting his response. There isn't much else he can do but play bystander, anyway. "its a pleasure to meet you two," he chirped, trying to get himself lower to the ground. he was tired, and tired meant he could faint at any moment. "i was.. hoping for A place to rest. i fear i may be sick." /mobile :^( |
