I NEED YOU SO MUCH CLOSER / death - spacexual - 06-30-2019

VIDEO KILLED THE RADIO STAR — tags
It had been a rough few days for the male, ultimately resulting in a fatal mistake - all of which his own doing. Being sent into this life, though he forced himself not to think of it, was truly suffering. Though there were things here he would make himself focus on and appreciate, the tragedy of it all trumped those, no matter how hard he tried to convert his feelings into something more positive. At the very least, they had to be productive. And so, he's decided that he will do something noble. He will slay their greatest enemy. He'd already been defeated before, in front of their leader no less. He did not wish to be so sloppy. He was a hero of mortals - he cannot come into this life already failing.

Unsurprisingly, however, he could not come out victorious. The former God was sloppy in this new body and still had little idea over how it worked. The memories from before are still too fresh, still feel so close, but just out of reach, and somehow at the same time an entire lifetime away. He was doomed to lose from the start. But, he'd never thought of it like this. He's lost fights before, but not like this - not three times in a row. Not against the worst beast to exist, a three headed one he should have been used to, and most certainly not a tiny fox that he should have - could have taken easily before. Defeat is not this normal. Defeat is not okay. He's failed himself - his purpose. Who was he, without his powers of Gods, without his title of a hero? He cannot hide his shame, his fear as his body glows from the wounds he'd received, only making his target more obvious in the end.

The male did not ever perceive himself as a fool. He'd been a hard working boy, so how could he even consider the possibility of losing now? Strategy was something he was expected to be familiar with, and most certainly was. But, that would not come to his aid now. Strategy had little use when he'd no idea how to even really move properly in his own body. That control he'd built up over millennia all came crashing down, because he's had no experience on four legs. He'd only had his pack - who could very much take care of themselves in the end. And they were gone, too. It was all, all gone. This is why his failure was inevitable, but he still cannot perceive it so. He's never felt such pain in his existence.

He was supposed to be the God of light and dark. He was supposed to be the son of Zeus and Hera. He was supposed to be the hero of mortals. He was supposed to be there for them, and to always be victorious. How can he lose? How can he feel this way? This pain? How could they have all lost? Were they all so powerless?

Could he die?

What happens when a fallen God dies?

Where will he go?

Hades had been defeated, too.

Perhaps it is better this way.

But, no one would see it - besides the very enemy that had dropped his lifeless body off now, the desert's scents roaming in the air.

However,

something else was there, too.
A marbled fox, unconscious, yes, but certainly alive, now laid beside the dead body.

And barks - thousands at once - far off in the distance.

bad girlfriend
Death wasn't something Myhri had considered for himself. Heroics weren't for him, either. Myhri just wanted an easy life, living in the middle of the extremes and staying under the radar. Repeated abuses circled his mind, Orange Eyes making his life a living hell at every step. The thought of her made his ears flatten. That was one fight he had run from. He could have killed her, wrapped his fangs around his neck and dug in, murdering the rascal for hurting him and using him.

But he didn't. That was a wall he couldn't leap, killing someone. He would be no hero if he did, after all. He would be as bad as them for trying to kill him in turn, for doing something he didn't really do. Myhri was only reminded of this futile circle- where dog eats dog, and Pittians murder jaguars- when he came across the body. Myhri had been wandering the cold tundra to find food, but found something deathly instead.

It only reminded him of that bear. It only reminded him of the trek they all went upon, the one that all came to an end. But Damianos' had ended early. The sharp, warm smell of the desert. The unmoving, bloodied body of the god that Myhri had learned to care for, to feed- that god couldn't even do that much for himself. Myhri slowly sat, his heart racing and mind blank. Did he scream for help? Would he cry over the body of the god? Would he cry? No, Myhri didn't cry. He wouldn't, he couldn't just cry-

In his stupor, he barely managed to notice the body laying next to Damian.

In the silence the three shared, Myhri barely noticed the yips in the distance.

Myhri's jaw worked for a moment, before prying open and mumbling a few words. "Sabishiku naru yo." He managed. He couldn't understand, really, why he missed him. Why he couldn't just move past it, like he had with so many others before. Slowly, he looked towards the marbled fox. Myhri stared at him, and looked on, before slowly pushing to his paws. He stepped about Damian's body gently, before lowering his nose towards the fox and gently nudging him with it.

"Hey." He whispered, afraid of breaking the silence of the tender situation.

Kliment was a scavenger, a hunter, and a true carnivore at heart. The smell of death that lingered in the air attracted him over like any predator that was hungry for a bit of flesh though this time it was different, the smell of death was lingering onto one of his clanmates or rather two of them. He swallowed the saliva already building at the roof of his mouth, he made his way towards Myhri and Damianos' limp corpse before lowering it down close to the form itself noticing a certain scent that was lingering on it. The Pitt. He could feel his snout scrunched up forming a snarl, his tail lashed to the sides in sudden anger only to find himself staring at the body once more with his pair of blank, emotionless pseudo eyes. He ran his barbed tongue over Damian's cheek letting out a soft chuffs, it would be a waste to let the body decay underneath the ground and,not preserve the meat but he couldn't really find himself being able to eat the jaguar to begin with. He supposed that he was gaining a bit of sense or at least a form of feeling for the jaguar not one of romantic intentions but rather one that made him feel defensive of the big cat, he felt like he had failed the fallen God. It took a bit for the giant brute to even look at the marbled fox even if his attention was diverted at the moment, he felt a low growl escaping his throat upon hearing the barking in the distance. His ears twitched quite a bit trying to depict when those far off barks would arrive, he hesitantly picked up Damian's corpse as carefully as he could before locking his attention onto the marbled fox once again.
