self-contained universe → paradise valley, first meeting - calliope - 11-29-2018 ♛ This was finally it. Paradise Valley was finally back. The once-dead clan finally had people in it, no longer isolating Divinity, no longer leaving her in the dust like the others had done in the past. The people who grew up in the clan entirely were gone, leaving only these newcomers to learn the traditions and to keep the clan's legacy going. She had faith, though. Everyone seemed rather promising. They were perfect, almost.
Everything was exactly how she needed it to be. Flower crown adorned on her head, Divinity stood on a makeshift pedestal made of boxes and hay from the barn. It was a bit wobbly, not to mention dusty and rather unprofessional, but it would have to do for now. The place had become a bit run down, after all, with only her to look after everything. Even for someone like Divinity, there was only so much she could do. Now that there were people here, though, she knew the clan would progress in no time. All they needed to do was to get a little push, to finally be motivated to create a grand legacy. "Citizens of Paradise Valley," she called out, voice echoing off of the barn walls and carrying on outside, "gather in the barn for a meeting." Her tail curled around her paws as she watched every file in, a small smile gracing her face. As soon as she noticed that there were plenty of people present, she decided to continue. "I'd like to start of by thanking everyone here," she addressed the crowd, voice warm and full of cheer. "You've all decided to brave through everything to get here, and I know the lot of you are uncertain about your futures here." Again, the clan wasn't in the best shape. The territory still held its natural beauty, but some aspects of the clan were clearly neglected, and the place was desolate if it weren't for the nymphs and few people that were wandering around. "I'm here to promise you that your lives will be beautiful here." She paused for a second, just hoping her promises would have some sort of effect on everyone. "We are at the beginning of something great. I know you all will help Paradise Valley thrive, and I look forward towards that," she continued, clearly proud of the group that had gathered. "We don't have any news this week, but I'd like to call everyone into action. Our territory is a bit of a mess. Vines, weeds, and small critters among other things, have overtaken many of our important buildings and farmland. A few structures are falling apart, too. I wish to make everything available for and safe for public use. I know it's a boring job, but it needs to be done. If you wish to organize any cleaning or building, feel free to come forward. Otherwise, I will take care of it." She waited for everyone to process that information before speaking up again. "In other news, I'll be introducing our wonderful clan to a few different other groups. I know we're small, but I believe our prescence should be known. If anyone wishes to come with me, feel free to speak up." Sure, going to other groups was a bit risky, but Div truthfully believed that this would be a good step for the clan. She'd take any chance to make allies, or at the very least, trade partners, as that would greatly benefit the clan. "Since our rankings are pretty scarce and all, I'm giving some of you try out to be promoted, but don't take this promotion lightly. You gotta show that you're capable of taking a part of this role, otherwise you'll be stripped of it." Her tail flicked, as she soon realized she ran out of things to say. "If anyone has anything to add, or any questions or concerns, now is your time to speak up." She knew Prin might have something to announce, but she figured everyone might as well have a chance to add something to the mix. //quick note that this has no set date/time;; it pretty much just takes place after everyone's joined. if your character joins after this meeting starts, feel free to post. you can even post before your character joins or is introduced. → welcome to paradise valley, everyone! → many buildings and patches of farmland are overtaken with plantlife and animals, or are falling apart and are in desparate need of rennovation. there will be building and cleaning parties in the future. anyone who wishes to lead either of these can step forward. → in order to get their name out there, members are requested to go along with divinity and converse with other clans. anyone interested can speak up, as it is best for multiple people to go at once. → prin is also going out to a few different groups, so he is also open for people going with him. → HP tryouts are open! they can be found here! → there is no set date for the HPs to be announced, but it will be decided soon. → the olive branch and firethorn branch are open, so let the leaders know what branch you want to be a part of. never had i imagined myself leading, much less a large, though small now, group. even though i had been the eldest of of my friend group, dylan had always been the leading type. i could see myself as someone who could lead, and i thought i would do well. well, now i am being tested on how well i really think i am.

paradise valley was a peaceful, beautiful place, one i could find myself living in forever. with the different assortments of flowers, the rolling hills, the tall mountains surrounding the area, the mist covering the meadows in the morning, the lake as it rippled in the pale moonlight, the island in the center of the lake, standing proud: it was beautiful. i often found myself wandering the territory, finding more and more interesting things as time went on. and because of my childish nature, i even got along well with the nymphs, who helped show me the tunnels to the point where i knew it like the back of my paw. divinity, well, she was something else. i found it odd that she only ate things like fruits, vegetables; things that did not have even one ounce of meat in them. what was it that she called herself? a "vegetarian?" it was a term i would have to get used to, as well as her diet, but i decided it was best not to question it. she is quite nice, as well, having a bubbly character like myself. i appreciated her help when i first came, as the nymphs, though i hate to admit, scared me out of my wits. i may or may not have been sobbing hysterically (a little bit of an exaggeration, but it's for the comedic affect) when she found me. we had spoken, deciding that it was finally time to open up paradise valley to the public. warmth- and nervousness- welled up inside my chest as i heard the call. gathering up gookmal and odeng, my sweet sugar gliders, i stood inside my hut for a moment, knowing i was forgetting something. "ah!" the noise escaped my throat as i remembered what it was: my flower crown. it was laced with many different flowers: roses, peonies, tulips, plumerias, and my favorite, three smeraldo flowers right in the front. they were something extraordinary. not grown naturally, they are a white flower spray painted blue. hints of pink and purple also hide inside of the flower, making up my favorite colors. taking a deep breath, i shifted my broad shoulders, and padded over towards the door, hesitating greatly before pushing it open. stepping outside, i breathed in the sweet smell of the nature that surrounded me. hearing the soft chittering of my companions as they sat on my shoulder, i chuckled to myself, jogging over to the barn where divinity was. i should have been there earlier, but i had gotten sidetracked, doing... well, nothing of importance. more like mentally preparing myself for this moment. entering the barn, i flashed a grin at div, making my way over to the makeshift pedestal. sitting below it, i looked at those who had arrived, a large grin plastered on my handsome face. "안녕하세요, 안녕하세요!" i exclaimed before divinity spoke, becoming quiet as she continued on with the announcements, nodding along when needed. when she had finished, i stood up, my tail flickering behind me as i bowed deeply. "it is our great pleasure to have you all here today. we cannot thank you enough, and your bravery, as divinity stated, is greatly appreciated." i paused, continuing on. "high positions will be decided soon, as the date is unknown as of now. i will also be going to a group, and will take a few volunteers with me as well." clearing my throat, i shuffled my crooked paws slightly. "i am willing to have a few suggestions from you all considering on what we should clean up or add to paradise valley. i believe groups might be necessary, so there are many paws doing something at once, but different jobs. please, speak up if you have any." i smiled, dipping my head. "if you would like to be in either the olive branch or firethorn branch, let us know! i will gladly help anyone out with any questions with the firethorn branch, and i'm sure divinity will do the same with the olive branch. otherwise, thank you for coming. it really means a lot. meeting dismissed if no one has anything to add." i puffed out my chest, proud of what i had said without locking up once. looking up at divinity with a large grin on my face, i looked back at the crowd happiness sparkling in my eyes. we had done it. Re: self-contained universe → paradise valley, first meeting - toboggan - 11-30-2018 Z enim udarcem ne podreš hrasta; ‘little strokes fell great oaks’. Just one of many proverbs he had in his bountiful satchel of phrases, this distinguishing saying betokens a difficult task, a doing of great adversity. Difficult perfectly described the undertaking that both Divinity and Crownedprince had eagerly planned to fulfill. Paradise Valley had once been the spotlight of the unpolished world, God’s personal purlieu, one may suggest, though not anymore. Now, the leading deuce, both of whom had taken turns in helping themselves to the spotlight and addressing the audience, envisioned a restoration. Personally, the bear trusted his wisdom in saying it to be a fool’s errand. Those present were nothing but a humble assemblage - even the full efforts deriving from everybody would not be enough to return the word ‘paradise’ to Paradise Valley. A realist, not a pessimist, Tomislav had identified the cure as soon as the issue had been diagnosed (a perfect trait to carry, if one wishes to pursue a path of healing others); their numbers were way too low, and their resources were practically fictional. However, the fact that he was here was enough to shut him up. Something interesting was bound to happen.
The massive mammal uncomfortably trekked into the building on his superior’s orders, his oaky stumps for limbs prudently navigating the male’s immense figure throughout the forming crowd. Assuming the unfortunate, and that he accidentally slipped on a comrade and tumbled over, it may have been a catastrophic turn of events for everybody. Thus, he took extra care in each and every footstep, treating them as his own children. Once he found a spot that didn’t put anybody’s lives at stake, his large rump collided with the floor in a sitting motion, then allowing his hardy noggin to find those in the spotlight. Initially, Divinity spoke, a female he had known from a distance for little more than a while now, beginning by thanking those present, to continue by glossing over her objectives to be sought after. Following afterwards, Crownedprince communicated, essentially elaborating on what his equal had to say before touching up on branches. Personally, he was more one for peace, hence the olive branch appearing much more appealing to his eyes. He had nil questions to speak of, when the two leaders brought them up. However, a shred of interest had retained in his system from when one of the two spieled something along the lines of visiting other groups. It seemed risky to do so, putting both the health and secrecy of those involved in harm’s way. If someone of his stature (colossal and scary) were to come along for the ride, despite his personality reflecting not an ounce of his unsound appearance, then perhaps even the least bit of safety could be shone on the group. "I will come", he’d state, tone completely devoid of the care that he held for his tribemates, ”and I will help.” As long as he knew he had been aiding the clan in any way, he could rest soundly. These folk were his family, and he had to protect them with all his might. Re: self-contained universe → paradise valley, first meeting - guts - 12-02-2018
He still felt out of place here among them. It had been a while now since he had his last kill, his last mission, and yet he still felt like the murderer he had come to recognize himself as. He had shielded himself long enough, and in a way, he was trying to atone for what he had done. He was uncomfortable here in serenity, but he was determined. He had come this far and he had no intentions of backing down now. The day he had come to Paradise Valley was fresh in his mind, as if it was only yesterday. He was running, a fugitive for all he had done. They were looking for him, eager to punish him for his crimes. He didn't bring any of this up, not bothering to tell any of them his story. He simply told them he was a traveler. With a dry voice, throat parched for water, he let the lie slip off his tongue so easily, just like others before. He had still left himself as somewhat of a mystery to the others. Lacking the grace of his group-mates, Locus stepped in with the heaviness of a soldier, a stern gaze scanning and calculating the surroundings. It looked like a dump, but he was no stickler for aesthetics. It would just have to do. He turned his eyes to settle on Divinity, a figure he had come to respect, not for her poweress or cunning like others, but for her dedication. She was doing the best for her people and he could admire that trait about her. He sits to listen, ears perked forward to listen to what the leader had to say. He nods, caught between the decision of going to greet clans with Crownedprince or staying behind to help clean up. He pauses for a moment, thinking, then speaks after his decision. "I can lead a clean-up party, ma'am." he wasn't exactly a charismatic figure, and while he would have liked to know what kinds of clans they'd go up against, he figured his skills would be best suited here. After all, if any heavy labor was needed, he was probably the best candidate. "speech" Re: self-contained universe → paradise valley, first meeting - Character Graveyard. - 12-02-2018 Upon hearing a sudden call for a meeting, Hana had immediately gotten up from her spot in the sun and headed in the direction of where Divinity's call came from. Winter was on it's way and she wasn't too excited for the freezing weather it would bring. Life with either of her fathers and siblings, couldn't possibly be better than life in Paradise Valley. The lithe feline arrived at the meeting, heterochromia eyes scanning her surroundings, not minding the mess. Most of the territory was a mess, which was a shame. The red-pelted female perked both of her ears upward, focusing on Divinity and Crownedprince as the duo spoke. "I'd like to be apart of the Olive branch, if that's alright? I can also come along to converse with other groups." She offered. code by spacexual |
