fill an ocean with weaponry } the rosebloods - Fright - 11-05-2018 CONFETTI & CONFESSIONS [align=center]
It was an ugly, ungodly noise that his paws made when they sloshed through the marsh. The mud had turned his back hindlegs a sludgy brown up to the bend. His mechanical forepaws no longer held their metallic shine after being dirtied. Somehow, he’d ended up slinging some of the muck onto his left cheek and he swore up and down he could taste the earth in his mouth. What kept him going was the spirit of duty, curiosity, and the fact that he was plainly okay with and enjoyed being freaking filthy. Oh, and he didn’t want to look like a loser in front of his comrades. He’d brought along two other ambassadors to the Tanglewood with him. Eddie, a raccoon who he didn’t know well (yet) but he seemed chill, well…kinda. As for Perry, he seriously wondered how the skittish coyote was doing in all the mud and mystic and marsh. The little serval shot a glance over his shoulder to mutter a quick, "Darned…you’d think we’d almost be there, but I bet it’s not far now!” He tried to be positive, he really did. He’d lived for years and years and so on as a spirit, reincarnated twice into two healthy lives that were both cut short. Now he was in a living body again, breathing new life but he was ignorant in what this world held. He’d not met many of the groups that inhabited the lands. So he was naturally interested. More mud and more mud, but he hadn’t felt nor smelt that they’d quite reached the border. Maybe he’d lead them all past it by accident. He figured he was close enough so he called out with words and with telepathy,”Tanglewood? You’ve got visitors from the Rosebloods. Hurry and come out, I wanna see what y’all are like. My name’s Frightfur, a physician and just one of the ambassadors from my place to…yours.” Gifts. It occurred to him that he forgot gifts. He really, really hoped Perry or Eddie remembered because it would sure look lame to be thought of as stingy or something. He did not have anything against the mess of a pathway the three of them had taken, keeping his head down as he heard his companions walk along with him. He came to notice that Frightfur was struggling, remnants of mud contrasting greatly to his ivory palette and spoiling his robotic appearance. Perry would have felt sorry for the male if it hadn't been for the fact that he looked like he was having fun, enjoying the rough outdoors and natural elements. He thought it to be normal, ears casually twitching about in search of any dangerous noise or sounds he would have to take note of. So far everything had been going smoothly and he felt calm with the silence that befell the group. Well, he had never been too fearful of anything. Most things were met by the male with indifference, eyes cold and watching, glasslike as he made decisions within his running head. Perry was simply used to the world that revolved around him and constant changes of scenery made him feel almost nostalgic if not for the fact that he had joined the Rosebloods for the sake of settling down. He merely blinks at the serval's comment, face blank because he wasn't sure how to respond. Perry didn't like speaking because it made everyone think he was awfully shy. He was only hesitant to socialise because it was usually a two-way deal. His horrible stutter often caused others to ask him to re-iterate and the stress of trying to stop his words from shaking and trembling only made his stammers worse. To top it all off, he seemed meek because his voice was so soft. It was easy for his words to become strangled by the wind, buried by the murmur of thoughts. The coyote decides to give the male a polite nod. To be honest, he only signed up to be an ambassador for the walking. He may consider himself an energy conservationist but walking had never been something he thought tired him. It was just walking, moving, surviving. In terms of the actual interacting aspects of being an ambassador, he only wanted to do it as part of a challenge. At the time, it had almost felt to him like an expectation - an expectation that he had to sign up. It was strange but Perry still had yet to get used to a social life. His jaws clench at his basket's handle, tired from the weight of the gifts he was holding. Again and again the canine would consider putting it down, letting himself swallow and take a moment to breathe before picking it up again. But every time he planned to do so, his eyes would catch the appearance of watered soil, knowing that the straw would be ruined the moment he put them down. He brought mainly Egyptian-inspired jewelry, exotic flowers, herbs and a few paints that had been made by crushed plants. Perry could only do so much considering the short timespan he had been living within the Rosebloods, the male furrowing his brows just a little when he wondered what on earth he would do the next time he visited Tanglewood. It was strange to know that he was coming here bearing gifts because he'd spent all his life avoiding such big groups, not looking for trouble and knowing there would be no use hanging around if he didn't want to say. He heard big communities preferred others to come and stay rather than visit, often taking the time to try and persuade. He would have been intensely annoyed if that had happened to him but here he was: walking with two creatures he hardly knew, representing a group he had only just joined and going to a place he would have never naturally stepped foot in. When he heard Frightfur's telepathic call, he stiffened a little. He has seen powers before and should have expected such phenomenons considering the serval's unique appearance but he couldn't help but feel immediately unsettled by the voice in his head. He would have thought himself as mad had it not been for the words the young creature spoke, addressing to Tanglewood that he understood that Frightfur was doing this because it was hard to project so far and wide otherwise. Perry knew that he, for sure, would not have the audacity to even shout. His vocal cords weren't the most trained. Well, on the topic of speaking, the coyote would prefer to wait for members to appear in front of him first as he places the basket down, making sure they didn't touch anything dirty as his eyes pick up again, glistening in quiet wait. Eddie was a little more used to wandering than he'd like to admit. Once he'd gotten older and more independent, he'd gotten more prone to walking around for some sort of interesting news. He may or may not have come off as a bit of a gossip, but that was hardly Eddie's problem. Though he'd admit, he wasn't sure why he'd signed up to be ambassador, because it was miserable. He's a little small to be working his way through so much mud, covered thick in mud up to his chin. He supposes he's had worse. They're all just lucky Eddie hadn't been the one to carry the gifts over. Eddie resists a snort at Frightfur's (and what sort of name was that?) attempt at positivity. It wasn't a bad mindset. But the poor kid(eddie sometimes wondered if he really was a kid,) was filthy, and the sound his joints had made .. well, needless to say, it could be better. Hopefully their future visits were more tolerable, because even Venom, who'd been fairly ecstatic at getting out, had been absolutely silent in his head, mimicking Eddie's own discomfort. So, needless to say, Eddie is rather relieved when Frightfur decides they've come far enough. Telepathy was a little jarring, but Eddie could live with it. He'll probably pass out for as long as his bodymate allows once they get back, and then he'll hopefully be more ready when the next visit comes up. This being said, though, the filthy raccoon settles beside Frightfur, intently watching for when a Tangler would hopefully arrive. "He-hello," the soft, stuttering voice did belong to a Tangler, albiet a small rookie. The scrawny alabaster and white vixen tried not to creep so much as actually walk towards the visiting trio. Aside form the way random parts of her body decided to lose corporal solidity, she managed it, even keeping her erratic teleporting in check.AND SOMETHING NEW WILL BREAK THE DAY Still, it was clear from the way her mitch-matched hues gleamed, she was lacking severely in confidence. Ambassadors. They didn't seem bad, but she met everyone with a little panic in her eyes. They were strangers, all of them, after all. "I-I'm Kiira," she offered, inclining her head slightly. "I-I'm j-just a rookie h-here, b-but wel-welcome." "T-thank you f-for the gifts." Kiira didn't feel too uncomfortable offering gratitude and whatnot until someone else arrived, but she hoped someone would arrive soon. That way someone with a steadier, louder voice could take over. "… I-I'm s-sure someone c-can bring y-you any w-water or food... I-if you're ti-tired or hungry." She wonders how far they walked and what their home looked like. Perhaps she could repay them the favor one day, for the gifts. Seemed like the right thing to do, far as she felt concerned. She fretted over the idea of a long journey though, given her body's glitching condition. She wore out rather quickly. The very thought of having so many males at the borders would have usually terrified the pink-furred feline, but for once, she had actually walked up and faced them. Her brain was telling her to run, to just get out of there, but she held strong. Why? She had no idea. The blind felidae had moved towards the group with clumsy apprehension in her steps, the three legged woman still unsure of her surroundings now that she was blind. Morgan was teaching her, though, and soon, metal had wrapped around her missing appendage, making a quick, make-shift prosthetic for her to stand on. With a creak and click, the girl had finally arrived at the borders, where she could scent Kiira, leaning down to gently nudge the glitching feline with her muzzle in greeting. "Welcome to Tanglewood. Since Kiira here already has offered everything, my name is Delilah. I'm the medic here." She spoke calmly, a gentle, motherly smile on her face. It was typical of her, despite how roughed up she actually looked. She was always kind to those around her, even those who had harmed her, just a bit stiffer. It wasn't in her to be mean to someone. "What brings you all here today?" She asked the question, knowing that their water wasn't exactly.. Drinkable to those who weren't used to radioactive liquids. It was dangerous, and could cause some throwing up and fevers, so she didn't suggest it. More power to them, though. He has seen a number of different phenomenons in his life - dragons and demons, pigs with wings or vicious manticores - but this...this was definitely something he hasn't seen before. She looked like a holographic projection, stuttering and flickering, image unstable. Even her heterochromia seemed to tell a story who simply couldn't keep still if she tried. Perry couldn't help but emphasise with her stutter, unsure if the girl was meek or if it was caused by her glitching movements, the fact that her body couldn't stay in one place. She was like light, a ray of sunshine through the window, seemingly intangible, unable to grasp the physical bounds of reality. Kiira. He offers the rookie a sweet smile, pitying her attempts to be hospitable to them. He didn't know what it was like to have powers but the flickering of her body seemed painful. He couldn't imagine what it must have felt like. Even though it might not have given her any sensations other than inconvenience, he couldn't help but feel bad. "Perry," he introduces himself, pointing a paw over his heart. He didn't want to say too much because of his stutter, thinking her to be rather brave to speak up on behalf of Tanglewood. He shakes his head at the girl's offer. He wasn't particularly hungry but he didn't mind the idea of staying around for a little longer just to look around. But before he could say his thoughts again, he raises a figurative brow at the next fem who approached. It seemed that she didn't hear Frightfur's telepathic call about them visiting as their ambassadors - nothing much. He frowns, thinking it a little rude of her but doing his best to give her the benefit of the doubt that maybe, just maybe, she couldn't hear telepathic calls? "A-Ambassadors," the coyote repeats, frowning a little at the woman. He doesn't want to appear rude but he hated having to echo the words of others, hated speaking when he didn't have to. It was a good thing he didn't live here in Tanglewood because if that were a daily occurrence, he knew he definitely wouldn't like to get along with the medic. His eyes settle back onto Kiira, returning the rookie's initial offer, "Could...Could y-you show us a-a-around the place?" Re: fill an ocean with weaponry } the rosebloods - HAMMOND - 11-08-2018 [align=center][div style="text-align: justify; width: 60%; font-family: georgial; font-size: 11pt;"]When the Rosebloods had first shown up during Axle's tenure in Tanglewood, them showing up in camp for an event had been totally unannounced. With no context offered, even as he growled at the leader, the only thing the Heeler could do was treat them with the same caution he had done with Sunhaven. One or two of them lingering at his borders may've been reasonable, but three? There was never a need for three unless they were planning on doing something vile - Axle wasn't going to be victim to that. The Guardsman pushed himself out of the foliage, ears pinned to the back of his cranium and teeth bared in warning. For a time he would've ignored them, let them talk and step out when they ultimately caused issues, but they wanted to travel deeper in. A far cry from the sweet females, the Heeler stepped closer to the strangers than them. As a free spirit, he didn't have to do anything he didn't want to do, as a Firebrand and Guardsman, there were certain duties to uphold - protection. "Why?" he questioned bluntly, unable to help the guarded growl behind his tone. Help me. He swallowed a lump in his throat. You bad dog. It's all your fault. Would he cause another fire if he bit these folk instead? It'd be worth it if he meant he was safe, but whilst they weren't gesturing or revealing their inner aggression he couldn't justify attacking. Many came to their borders for safety, many came to destroy his temporary home, anyone could be lying and Axle wouldn't take the risk. His nostrils flared, an impatient snort escaping them as he contemplated whether or not to try and hurry them up. It was oddly unusual that she didn't hear the telepathic call, really. Normally, she would have heard something like that, but it had been so long since telepathy had been used that she just dismissed the voice as one of the voices in her head. Perry spoke, and the medic's fur rose in tandem with his voice. It wasn't that he was scary, Delilah just thought she could handle the stress of talking to males this once. It seemed androphobia had different plans for her today. Luckily, she heard the familiar snap of Axle from behind her, and seeing him as one of the few men she could trust, she had scooted back quickly and hid behind him, his much larger form hiding her pretty well. For a maine coon, she wasn't very large, probably because of her being the runt of her litter. The medic peeked out from behind the canine, her body trying not to physically touch Axle because she knew he didn't like being touched without being asked beforehand, if at all. Pale pink eyes seemed to stare for a moment before the medic finally spoke up again. "We.. We can take you to our camp, but I have.. Have to warn you of the radioactivity.. If you stay for too long, it'll make you sick.. S-Since you don't live here.." Delilah squeaked out, a sigh leaving her lips as she tried, willed her heart to calm down- to stop beating so fast. These guys won't hurt you. The little vixen felt her muscles tense slightly but her eyes gleamed with bright friendliness the moment Perry smiled at her. He stuttered too, she realized. He didn't seem very shy either, just quiet. For that she felt glad. Her own stutter, although certainly connected to her sensitive nature, was more involuntary than anything. Perhaps a result of her 'glitching': Kiira knew not for sure.AND SOMETHING NEW WILL BREAK THE DAY She bounced on her paws, glancing towards Delilah and Axle -- the latter of which she thought a little rude, afterall they said they were ambassadors and Kiira felt inclined to trust Perry at the very least -- chewing the inside of her cheek. "I-I w-wouldn't mind... O-offering a t-tour..." But her medic had a good point. "I-if everyone feels... Safe a-about it a-an' Morgan agrees." "B-But I don-don't want to p-put an-anyone in danger." The rookie didn't want to see their ambassadors get sick. [ Mobile ] |
