they think they're better than you | cosette - pallid-i - 10-14-2018 One Chance
Yes Man had no idea what he was doing. The male was pushing his paws into the sand, pulling them out, and then repeating. This wasn't a usual thing Yes Man did, but he really was at a loss for what he should be doing. Which was anything but this, really. He was sure if anyone caught him like this, he would get yelled at, but the smiling savannah didn't care if he was yelled at. It wouldn't be the first or last time since someone's yelled at him.

She was used to being kept busy, and now that she didn't have things to do 24/7, it was a bit irritating. It had been nice at first, but now it just brought her boredom and feelings of uselessness. So she tried her best to find things to do. Even if they were just mundane tasks, she did it, if only to keep herself busy and her mind away from certain things. Coming across Yes man as he was doing...whatever it was he thought he was doing, she found it somewhat hard to approach him. She had never really had family before--her mother, maybe, but it didn't last. She was afraid this wouldn't, either, that he would be taken away from her just like the rest. Good things didn't last. Still, the feline found herself padding over to him and examining the hole he was making in the sand, though it didn't remain long as it kept falling back in on itself. "What are you doing?" she asks, though it's a somewhat stupid question. She wasn't even sure if he knew himself. But it was a way to start a conversation, maybe a start to getting to know one another. It was funny, not really knowing much about her own kin. He jolted up suddenly, sending sand flying everywhere. The smiling male turned to look at Cos and his whiskers twitched. It was the one who gave him that massive migraine. He'd be angry if he could, but the small memory he got.. Two small bundles of fur nestled together. One silver the other sandy. He got a sense of kinship, but he didn't want to jump into this. He was scared, truth be told. Scared of this.. power, Cosette seemed to have when she was around him. It wasn't supernatural in nature. It was just... The power of kinship, he supposed. Still, Yes Man didn't want to call her kin. Not yet. This was all so new to him, and he didn't want to lean into the softness that was a sibling. He had to come off as fierce, no matter what. He was the former ardent of the Pitt, after all.
"I was doing nothing! Nothing at all!" He suddenly piped up, almost forgetting to speak. He got up and padded around Cosette, tail waving back and forth. "What are you doing?" code by spacexual

She wasn't expected to be strong and unmovable, everyone already knew she wasn't. Either way, she would cling onto this, try to keep this feeling from going away. It had been so long since she had felt this way, since she had been with family. She wouldn't let it go so easily. But if he wasn't ready, then Cosette would wait. There was no use in forcing things. Even though she wanted the connection, to know what had happened to him in all their days away from one another, she wouldn't pry it from him. She knew better. As he walks around her, she watches him with a hint of wariness, a hint of a smile on her face at his quick response. "Asking you what you're doing." she replies, smiling at her joke. That was probably as humorous as she got. |
