open --- don't fly away - Keona. - 04-12-2018 Keona was a wandering child. She was prone to sneaking away, and exploring the world around her. Exploring the camp was only so satisfying, but she was, truthfully, willing to do so, if only so that she knew the layout like the back of her paws. She had been capable of traversing from point a to point b on her father's ship with little difficulty after enough practice. Although, she was admittedly uncoordinated and a moving ship was not always easy so she wasn't exactly the expert she would claim she was.
The tiny kitten was on the brink of deciding to wander off again. She was terribly bored, and her willingness to locate someone to play with was low. She found many of the npc kits she should play with too tiresome anyway. Oh well. She had a map slowly forming in her mind - she knew who to avoid and who she just might be small enough to dart pass - when something tickled her nose. Or rather, landed on her nose. It was not, she knew by the texture, a leaf. Her brows creased, but the young beta didn't want to move quite yet. I'm going to sneeze. She really wanted to know. She had never encountered a butterfly before. Listening in on others' conversations might have been interesting, but none of the Typhoon's members with the exception of Georgie were really the sort to voice their innermost thoughts and weaknesses in public. Besides, the beach may have been the safest place on the island at night, but he couldn't be cooped up on a single strip of sand during the day. Hunting may not have been the most exciting activity in the world- you couldn't even hold down your prey just to watch it squirm, that messed up the meat's flavor and texture- but it was something to get him off the beach for a bit. Emerging from the jungle with a fallen mouse in his jaws, the jackal noticed Keona standing still and looking cross-eyed at something. Quirking a brow, he jogged over and eyed the insect perched on the kitten's nose. It didn't look harmful, but he couldn't pass it off as harmless, either. It could be poisonous, or have some blood-sucking mechanism like a mosquito, or worse. "Oy, shoo!" he growled, waving a paw at the pest. "Leave her alone!" Re: open --- don't fly away - Keona. - 04-12-2018 So distracted, Keona almost did not hear Papercutter's approach. At his warning growl, she began to grow a little more fretful. Now the desire to remain still amplified; she did not want to scare something that might sting or poison her. She had, aside from receiving a pinch from a - rude, as she still liked to believe - defensive crab, avoided getting hurt by any of the Typhoon's strange new creatures.
As far as she could tell, the creature she was currently encountering only wanted to sit. She did not feel a stinger anywhere. There was probably... Six, she hopes, legs. If it came from above, which she is fairly certain, that made it... Winged. Winged with six legs. Insect, right? "Know?" Keona tentatively asks, moving her mouth very carefully. Even if she did not feel it, it could have a stinger, couldn't it? What if he didn't? This was certainly a situation. And she hadn't even left the camp yet. code by spacexual Re: open --- don't fly away - Luciferr - 04-14-2018 Hymn of Ruin LUCIFER GRIMM — MALE — TYPHOON — VERY DIFFICULT A dark shadow fell across the two of them, Lucifer watching the two and their apparent confusion over a fluttering butterfly with something like amusement - of course he didn't know either of them and hopefully from where he sat overlooking the two from a slight inclined ledge, he wouldn't startle them too badly. he was aware his appearance looked far from friendly - even if his face wasn't marred by a glowing scar. Lucifer huffed lightly, stretching out and lowering his head down to peer at the two and the small insect "found a fluttering friend?" the deep baritone rumbled quietly, best not to startle them or the insect - butterflies were nervous creatures, possibly these two might be as well. Re: open --- don't fly away - Verdigris - 04-16-2018 The insect didn't fly away, seemingly not bothered by his yelling. How? He'd never met an insect that wouldn't either flee in terror or try to defend itself when startled. There was no way it wasn't scared- he was several dozen times its size, and his voice was loud, so there was no way it couldn't fear him. Maybe it was frozen in fright, or even dead. Yes, that was the most logical answer. "Try tilting your head," he recommended, flicking his good ear. "If it falls, it's dead. If not, it's probably clinging on for dear life, out of fear." The arrival of Lucifer drew his attention away from Keona and the pest for a moment, allowing his left ear to just barely catch the word "friend". "Friend?" he asked, quirking a brow. "Are these things docile?" If it was harmless, then... well, he could claim deniability, but he had a feeling the others wouldn't let him live it down. |
