Left wet and slick with mud, or at the least the sediment which had gathered about the bed of the slow moving stream, the child seemed nothing like such, dripping as he stumbled through the undergrowth. For the better part of the day he had waded through the calm waters, felt mud squish beneath bare toes gripping at the hidden rocks beneath, arm held out to steady him yet it was no help. He knew his bandages would need to be changed once he got back, the once pristine linen marred by the gunk which left his clothes an even larger mess, the shirt and shorts likely to be thrown out rather than an attempt made to clean either.

Yet there was a smile on his lips, one seemingly so rare now, laughter dancing in the dark eyes, alight with a joy which curled about his heart. So soon had his childhood been taken, given to work he loved and found himself entranced by, but still it felt nice to get away from it, and there was no secret to his love of the life present on the island. The trek hadn't entirely been for nought, one pocket strangely mobile, shifting slightly and giving off faint croaks every now and then. It seemed Sil had a disgruntled passenger along, his purpose for such unknown but surely it was of high priority for only such would drive him to become as messy as he was. By no means one who hated every speck of dust and grime he preferred simply to keep it off him, and so he was an odd sight.

Stumbling into the bay he looked about for any others before scampering off, moving towards the Capricorn where briefly he was staying until other arrangements could be made, all the while laughter rising. He was the picture of a little boy enjoying his time, freed from the responsibilities put before him for a time, forgetting the constant struggle to contain his thoughts, a budding headache lingering about his temples for he couldn't quite process how fast his thoughts were. None of it was here, however, just the joy of his prize and Sil slipping upon the cobbles as muddied feet couldn't quite find a proper grip upon the smooth stone.

While it was not an odd sight for the tiny girl to be seen running across the beach, the youngest of the O Faoláin clan currently lingered outside Capricorn.  When she was tired, or bored, it was a nice landmarked place to sit, her legs crossed over each other as she fought with a mess of curls trying to blow away in the sea breeze.

Pale, sea-green hues lingered blankly ahead, made duller with boredom.  Her small, nimble hands worked with a rubix cube absently, fingers grazing carefully over little markings in each square.  While the puzzle had been fun for a while, her attention was fizzling out more and more every second.  The sound of a muffled croak popped it like a balloon, and her interest in the toy vanished away entirely.

Her keen ears picked up slick feet trying - with difficulty - to go up, and the tell-tale signs of another being.  Her head quickly tilted, wild curls following, aiming to "look" in the other child's direction as well as possible.  "Aloha kakahiaka," she chirped, albeit rather quietly.  A tinge of her father and uncles' irish accents had begun linking into her own voice, her Hawaiian spoken with a strange conglomeration of the two cultures.

"Do'you have a frog?" Or a toad, she supposed, since they also croaked.

Re: pocket frog ✨ human au - CLEO R. C. - 08-25-2018

They had tried to tame her mess of curls that morning, brushstroke after brushstroke pulled through the tangles in a fruitless attempt to make her appear a little less wild and a little more like a young lady. Cleo hadn't originally been opposed to the process, but sat there fuming now, scalp burning as the unfamiliar woman continued to tug and pull and tug and pull. Though not certain, the child presumed that her hair looked even worse than before, a frizzy thing that was not so easily manipulated into looking neat and orderly, her reasons for being there and being cooperative dwindling to only a few select few- namely, owning up for her recent bratty behavior.  She'd sigh, tempted to put her face into the palms of her tiny hands before she was suddenly (and miraculously) alerted that the lady was all done and that she was free to go.

Thank god, Cleo thought to herself, rising in an abrupt motion only to fetch Eshe from the table in which she rested upon. The snake looked relieved to be once more in the hands of her carrier, the deaf girl's presence enough to sate any restless emotions she might have detected otherwise.  She smiled brightly before scampering away, drawn elsewhere by some sort of innate sibling instinct, those reddish-brown eyes of hers bright as she found who she was looking for. "Hello, brother!" Her greeting sounded, cheery and appearing seemingly unbothered by the problems that currently vexed her, "Did I hear something about a frog?" Ah yes, she did hear something about a frog, twirling to show off the hearing aids that she wore in both ears. She didn't anticipate any compliments or even notice of her newest (and most favorite) piece of technology, but was keen on highlighting the fact that sounds came loud and clear to her now. "What's the frog's name, Silus? You've got to tell me!"

(i needed cheery cleo in ONE thread lol,,, also this is so bad bc i'm rushed i'm sorry!!)

Many amongst them knew of various languages, spoke them within a free manner for some had learnt it before the more common was taught to them, others given years to practice and perfect it. And yet Silus seemed amongst the few who held no inkling of other language, had learnt only the common tongue for it was easiest to pick up, yet he longed to learn more.

His pace slowed some, though still he moved closer for he had no wish to find himself taking a spill back down the slope towards the beach, looking towards the other with a mix of curiosity and faint distrust in dark brown eyes. For a time he didn't speak, though his hands moved to curl almost protectively about the pocket set low on his stomach, until he noticed her gaze was strange. Though upon him for the most part, if a little off center, she seemed to look through him rather than at him. “Oh ah, yeah,” quickly the words tumbled from the child, sheepish now, a faint touch of pink within his cheeks reflecting the tone of slight embarrassment within his voice.

It did not matter he was a child he was meant to present himself within a certain fashion but he had been taken by surprise when the frog had first showed itself and went about catching it with glee, never thinking he would end up meeting another on the way back.

For a short moment his eyes narrowed as the words spoken towards him registered, turning with a question upon his lips until he noticed the hearing aids, a smile quickly rising. Indeed no compliment would arise, prone to being rather reserved Sil held no want to have aspects of his own person pointed out and thought little of doing so for others, but all too clear was his joy at this new development, one he likely would give his full attention later when they were alone.

“Didn' ask, 'e sure is chatty though,” as if to show indeed it was a croak arose from his pocket once more and from it a head poked out. Blinking a few times it made to jump but Silus proved a tad quicker, gently taking hold of the frog and lifting it up, spreading his hands out so it sat on his palms. Somewhat plain it was green with patches of grey and brown along it, giving a croak every now and then though it seemed content, for the moment at least, to simply sit in his cupped hands. "Wanna 'elp me name 'im?"

Re: pocket frog ✨ human au - FELIKS - 08-31-2018

[align=center][div style="text-align: justify; width: 60%; font-family: georgial; font-size: 11pt;"]"Steve," a cough escaped from his hoarse throat, pride swelling in Feliks' voice as he offered up his choice of name to Silus. Though happy to call out his suggestion as he leaned up against one of the walls of the Capricorn, the blonde didn't make any attempts to move closer to the children. It seemed odd, they weren't his own and they all seemed absorbed in their own little worlds as they gawked over the amphibian, there had to be people in their early 30's around to talk to. With rings started to form around green eyes and shoulder length hair tied up in one of the laziest buns imaginable, it wasn't like he hadn't been trying. Sitting up all night just to see if anyone was around, beggars couldn't be choosers in the end and the adult would just have to make do also getting interested in a frog. For a brief moment as he thought, Feliks looked down at his beat up shoes, smirking. "You should name him Steve,". The relevance of Steve? Shoulders would have to shrug if asked about such a thing. It just seemed like a fitting name for a derpy little hopping animal, especially since he wasn't too keen on teaching children about his favourite insult just yet. Assclown.

Not always so crude when it came to naming pets, Feliks crossed his arms when he started thinking back to his own companions. Birds mainly, a pony and a lizard. Their names were Pony and Lizard, with the birds being unnamed due to their similar appearances. Creativity was normally the man's strong suit, but during times of laziness the basic names were the only ones he could think of. They weren't terrible, just uninspired, almost like his outfit. Shorts and a tank, perfect for showing off quite how skinny he was, but at least it kept him cool on the tropical Island he found himself on. Isla Typhoona he'd have to call it, if no one else had already. "Khal Frogo, Kermit, Żabko, Hoppy, Derpy, lotta other names if Steve's too cool for you," his smile grew less conceited, at least treating his own suggestions more seriously now. "Or am I too old to be giving suggestions?". He wouldn't be offended, he really wouldn't.

I will not take this anymore; these words will never be ignored. you want a battle? here's a war
"Just call 'im Croaker," the Irishman grinned.  He ran a hand absently through his short, red hair, inclining to approach his neice as he arrived on the scene.  He liked to believe she looked like him, moreso than Kian.  The sentiment of course, was rather useless, considering he and his brother were identical twins.  Just alike.  Physically, at least.

He reached out to fondly ruffle the blind girl's hair, a pair of similar sea green eyes glinting.  A moment later, he was leaning against the wall of Capricorn, hands folded across his green tweed vest, thoughtful frown gracing his clean-shaven face. "Sean.  Or Flyswatter," clearly, he was not taking this very seriously.  Seamus never was one for pets.  Aside from the family dog, he knew little of animal companions. Frogs, especially, were a tad on the odd side.  Not his first choice for animal friends.  A dog.  A cat.  Maybe a bird.  He did not mind, however, throwing around some amusing names along with Feliks.  It made things interesting.
