FLY LIKE AN EAGLE / JOINING - Beatles. - 07-22-2018

BODIE
Shoooot, this place was beautiful! His mocha-colored visionaries had never laid upon a land so vibrant and tropical. As someone who had been raised in the high Sierras, who knew practically every rock crevice and every crack in the roads, he had yet to see the ocean itself. Bodie had seen pictures of it, of course. There were parks near and on the ocean; at least from what he had seen on the map, anyways. Maybe one day, he had once thought to himself, he would be given the opportunity to visit a beach. The sand, the sun, the salty air, the waves; it was all there for him to experience.

He never thought that he'd be making the trek alone, though.

His handler had gone out hiking, far much longer than Bodie had anticipated, so he had decided to up and find him on his own. He had traveled deep into the mountains and valleys, though in a few weeks time, it looked like he was all by himself. Bodie had hills upon hills to explore, and once he had finally surpassed them all, that was when he saw the distant island civilization. It was intriguing; it seemed that there was abandoned railroad tracks leading towards the land. Thankfully, the tide hadn't swallowed them, and so Bodie could follow along with dry paws.

The German Shepherd trotted along towards the main entrance, his ID tag dangling from his black collar. He arrived at the entrance, peering up at the various names and symbols scratched into the walls and the signs. Bodie, having no knowledge of the clans, was quite confused. Oh well; it didn't hurt to see if anyone was out there. "Hey! Anyone around?" He barked.

"Anyone around?" "A-Aloha." The tiny Striker craned her neck up towards the voice's origin, bouncing nervously on her paws.  She found the railroad track an interesting place to wander, but she had not anticipated any strangers today. Perhaps she should have; there'd been a high influx lately.  Enough to hurt her brain sometimes.  Too many names.  Too many voices and scents to memorize.  Keona chewed the inside of her cheek.  What was she supposed to say here?  She couldn't remember.

"'m... Keona... Who're you?" A short pause, her brow creased sharply.  "… W-why're you here?"

[align=center][div style="borderwidth=0px; text-align: justify; width: 520px; padding-bottom: 17px; overflow: stretch; font-family: verdana;"]Her breathing was shaky, though she tried her best to keep her body still. Watching the lone stranger, the wolf padded up softly next to Keona. It was true, there had been plenty of joiners in the past week. Even when Rochelle had joined Captain Pincher had commented on how many joiners there were, and she bet it was double the amount this week. It brought a smile to her face, among all of the troubles she felt, that wandering souls found their place here. There was always the assurance of a friendly face strolling into the Typhoon, and Bodie was no exception,

His demeanor relaxed her in ways she felt thankful for. The curiosity, the uncomplicated splendor of the canine she was looking at. And there was Keona too, who no matter what, always made her laugh a little in the back of her mind. She couldn't help but remember when the Striker had gotten caught in that ball of yarn. It was pleasant, she thought, to be here. That was ... a wild thought. For a moment, she felt at ease with everything. This is The Typhoon, by the way ... do you have a name, friend?" She commented warmly after Keona spoke, feeling that the younger one was unsure about the interaction.

BODIE
// mobile, excuse the sloppiness aaaa

A kitten had been the first to greet him. A scrawny little kitten, at that. A number of animals were known to instinctively prey on cats, and canines were no exception. However, you wouldn’t be experiencing any aggression from Bodie. He was raised to respect all creatures, from the tallest tree to the tiniest ant. German Shepherds were known to be one of the more dangerous breeds of dog, with those teeth and those unshakeable, scissor-grip jaws, but Bodie was hardly ever a threat. No, the only thing he really used was his nose. He had an impeccable sense of smell and hearing.

So, Bodie simply wasn’t a threat to the young kit. In fact, he had managed a small smile and was slightly lowering towards the ground so that his height wouldn’t be so off-putting. Upon further observation, Bodie observed that this she-kit was blind. Her sightless luminaries were incredible, and the fact that she had navigated herself out here was even more so. A part of him wanted to ask her about that, but he also knew that some people were particularly sensitive about their conditions. So, the German Shepherd answered in a friendly tone of voice, “Why hello, miss Keona. ‘m just a traveler. Say, is there anyone I could talk to about—“

Before he could finish his question, another presence had arrived. This time, an adult. It was a wolf, by the looks of it, and she was littered with scars. Bodie couldn’t help but wonder about them. Wolves were tough, wild creatures. They tended to get into a lot of scraps over the years, and this fae was no exception. The good thing was that she didn’t appear to be in any physical pain. The dog rose back to his paws, standing at full height, and he slightly raised his brows. Wow, that was quite the name. “This place is called The Typhoon? It looks mighty nice here, I’d say. More like a paradise than a typhoon.” The canine commented, his Southern accent quite noticeable in his words. Bodie returned a smile, and he continued, “My name’s Bodie, miss. I was wonderin’ if I could stay here.” He glanced downward briefly before meeting her gaze once more, “My paws are gettin’ awfully tired from walkin’.” Not to mention that he wanted to explore the island, which was rich in plants and animals... perhaps new ones that he had never seen before.

KIAN Ó FAOLÁIN
So bring on all the monsters, That lie sleeping in the blue
I'll fight 'em all bare handed, Screaming I ain't scared of you
"If you don't mind that you'd be hanging around with a bunch of pirates," the Irishman called as he stepped onto the scene, stationing himself behind his daughter with his lips quirked into a grin. Though he did not like it, there wasn't much stopping Keona from wandering off.  Another newcommer at the border.  Kian knew he was going to have a fun time trying to learn all the new names now for sure.

"'course you're more than welcome if that's the case." The feline inclined his head, "Kian Ó Faoláin.  Welcome the Typhoon, Bodie."

You will always be a monster, there is no turning back from it.
But what type of monster you become is entirely up to you -

"ah another new face" a rumbling baritone growl queried as a dark shadow fell across the group, the void black form of the obsidian dragon making his way from the treeline t the small welcoming committee with a curious gaze.

ah new blood then - Bodie, if he'd caught the name correctly.

he snorted at Kian's words but true enough, they were after all - and oddly that might've been the most lucrative thing he'd found himself as in recent years, sneered at for being 'of the pirates' rather than 'tainted child of void' a how things changed

"Lucifer Grimm, you are welcome to join us of course"

Re: FLY LIKE AN EAGLE / JOINING - MARCELLUS - 07-22-2018

HEARTFELT PROMISES { .:*・°☆ } ——— [size=10pt]TAGS
Marcellus had to agree with the place being beautiful. Beautiful beaches and bays to relax and sunbath in, the caress of calm winds unlike harsher ones and yet these still gave off a gentle breeze to keep cool, the jungle full of prey and wildlife, and even the ocean that was clear in color and see through which made it even more beautiful. Marcel had been beginning to grow accustomed to every nook and cranny in the place, spending his times exploring the territory and even going off sometimes from the designated path on his run to check out things on the sides. He had a sharp eye for things, paying attention to even the most little of details that nearly nothing ever escaped his blue and pink hued eyes. He wasn't exactly a perfectionist, but he might as well have been called that considering he acted exactly like one. He preferred a more lesser underdog word for the description that he thought fit him perfectly and completely. His attention to detail would be around that word and not the art of a perfectionist, which he didn't consider himself as. Besides paying attention to detail in the territory he paid attention to detail all around him, the king cheetah having an appreciation for things that were precise and exact.

When he first made his trek to the vast island his paws were aching, he was tired, his bones ached with agony and told him to stop walking and just sit for a while. Traveling with three legs didn't make the journey easier on him either, his legs nearly giving in with heavy and tired eyes. His previous small injuries from when he managed in Tanglewood didn't make things any easier on him and had made his journey only all the more complicated for him. Well that was in the past somewhat and now he was in The Typhoon, no longer having to do a long trek like that one. Well unless they decided to move that is which he really hope they didn't. He was enjoying this island way too much for that. Even though the island wasn't suitable for his activities (His daily running, hunting, etc), he still enjoyed the place and would of really liked to spend his whole life here, even if it there did happen to be an active volcano right on the island and sharing it with them, though Marcel didn't mind as long as the shit didn't erupt and burn them.

The piebald king cheetah was striding through the rain forest, looking at the little mini totems and even looking around for some hidden things he could find, even looking around for prey here and there. He wasn't an amazing hunter or a good one even, but he would learn. He had lost all his wildcat mannerisms when he had gotten captured by the humans, getting used to being fed in a bowl or the disgusting treats they tried to tempt him with which didn't work. What did they expect? He was a wild cheetah not a domesticated feline. Now he would have to adjust to hunting all the same again, a painful experience in which he knew when he was a young cub but lost when he got taken by them. Marcel's ears twitched when the male heard voices at the wall, his tail flicking behind him as he began limping towards them. Lately the stream of joiners had been a lot, joiners appearing at their borders like no man's business. Oh well, all the more better for them anyways.

He listened to their conversation, catching the males name, his reasons for being in front of the territory, the usual. Just as he suspected, another joiner. He couldn't help but look over the male to realize that he was wearing man made stuff, the male holding back a snort. This guy was a dog and frankly from what he remembered, humans kept dogs. There had been another dog in The Typhoon which he didn't mind, but this guy looked like he actually wanted to be with humans. Marcellus forced his eyes to stop from forming into a narrow, holding back a short. "Marcellus. Welcome." His tone was visibly curt with the male as he turned to begin padding off. Usually he wasn't like this but he wouldn't be sticking around to properly greet this guy.
