HOLY WATERS | open, hunting - NUI HARIME - 07-18-2018

ASPIRING FIRES !
nui harime — female — snowbound — eaglehearted — hard physicality
there were few things better than hunting, simply put it.

to let natural instinct override her body. to let her lean muscles flex, to steady herself for the thrill of demolishing prey. it was born into her blood, into her very being. stripped down to her barest elements; an animal, garnering for food. she knows that with plenty of nourishment within the clan, there is no need, yet she will not reject her base instincts.

the snow underfoot is frigid and sharp, yet it sends a fiery chill through her veins. ignites her. nui, thin and streamlined, flexes her lean muscles, displaying power hidden in a delicate body. she was built to be a hunter. she was born to kill. that is the truth of her existence. she was built to look pretty. she was built to create things for her mistress, yet there were core things at heart that could not be changed. such as this. this was her truth.

deadly hunter. cutthroat. she knows all this to be true. she revels in it, and she cuts loose. her body ripples like a fish, swift as it cuts the boundaries of worldly speed, leaving plumes of kicked up snow in her wake.

her prey barely has time to react before her claws snap shut over it's form, crushing bone as she pierces deep into flesh, pressing the mole against the hard packed, frozen water.

she always preferred fresh meat better than processed food, anyways.

Re: HOLY WATERS | open, hunting - dead chars - 07-18-2018

" IT'S FINE NOW. WHY? BECAUSE I AM HERE! "
Toshinori had never actually hunted before.

Yes, he was a serval. Yes, he was an adult. But he had never hunted before, for the simple fact that he'd never needed to. He had been a human up until a few days ago, able to buy his own food from shops and grocery stores and such. He'd never developed the drive or the instinct because... he hadn't needed to. He'd been a human.

Then he'd died.

And now, he was a serval, desperately hungry and unwilling to take what he hadn't earned. Ever since his death, he'd been a bit weird about earning things, even if the stockpiled food in camp was caught for everybody. But he was so, so very bad at hunting that often times, he just went hungry. He wasn't a killer, after all. He was a hero, a symbol of peace. Or... he had been.

Still, the killing drive wasn't in him in the slightest. He was no deadly hunter, no cutthroat. He could be intimidating in his other form, but that was over now. He didn't have the power to transform anymore. Still, Toshinori was trying his best. The feline was crouched ungracefully near the shore of a frozen river, eyeing the same more Nui had been. He was much too loud though, snow crunching under his paws as he tried to creep closer. His baggy sweater dragged against the wet ground and disturbed it. Each time he moved he winced for fear of scaring the prey away, but it remained still. That was, until a blur of cat up and took it.

The serval rose from his hiding place (though that had been lousy, too), shadowed cerulean eyes wide with surprise. He hadn't even noticed the molly, so he definitely hadn't thought the mole would have been gone so quickly. It wasn't like he'd had high hopes, but he had been hoping that if the prey did disappear, it would simply be because he was bad at hunting. Really, he just didn't want other people to see him trying and failing. Not... again. He'd had enough of failure, and yet it seemed to be trailing him at every step.

"Nice catch," the serval commented, though his tone was a bit hollow with disappointment. He pushed a smile to his cracked lips, watching as Nui pushed the mole into the ice. The thought occurred that this girl probably didn't know him, and he hoped she didn't mind the sudden conversation too much. He didn't think he'd startled her, but if he had, it wasn't his intention. "Ah- I'm Toshinori by the way."

Re: HOLY WATERS | open, hunting - arcy - 07-19-2018

Izuku was a .. decent .. hunter. Not the cleanest killer, rather messy and focused on getting it over with before it could get away, no no no. He'd spent months on his own surviving on garbage before he learned well enough. It'd mostly taken that long, though, because he was too starved and weak before then to waste time on something like that. By now, Izuku isn't sure? He's okay at fishing. Except he falls in the water a lot and it's kind of terrifying because he's back there all over again. .. Izuku, eventually, would like to try and learn better. First, though, he'd have to heal. He can't hunt if he has a leg burned this badly.
So. Izuku had happened to be in the right place at the right time to witness the hunt. He'd seen All Might, and he'd considered approaching but then promptly decided that he'd be more of a hindrance than anything. All Might may be loud, but Izuku was a shockingly green figure against the snow. Look, he may love Snowbound with his whole heart, but Izuku is not intended to camouflage here. He could at least semi-manage it  in forests and greenery, even if he wasn't quite the right shade. But, well, then somebody else caught it. Izuku's ears prick.
"Clean," He says a little absently, but loud enough to announce his presence as he lopsidedly strides into complete view, tail waving. He's a little impressed. It's probably honestly why he'd gotten scary vibes from her when she joined. Good at killing, even if it was just hunting. .. Though. With their prey population, Izuku is struck with the realization that there's no way of telling if prey is feral or not at first glance. Izuku's ears turn nervously. Right. Fish. He was just gonna eat fish, no problem. Anyways. He gives Nui a little grin from .. wherever he is. Opposite of Toshinori, at least. He knows her already. Unless she forgot his name already, he wasn't too worried.

Re: HOLY WATERS | open, hunting - ATBASH CIPHER. - 07-19-2018

ATBASH CIPHER
i should've said what i hear
i should have let myself fear
Hunting didn't come natural for Atbash, despite what one may think. Back at home, she wasn't expected to be anything but a stay-at-home mom, let alone a hunter. Did she know how to hunt? Of course, she was just a tad clumsy at it and often ended up chasing her prey a lot longer than she should be. And with the recent additions of prey-like creatures joining, Atbash had been wary of the animals and had to double check to make sure they weren't sentient. Atbash made her way over to the slowly forming group, having scented the smell of freshly killed prey.

"Nice catch!" Atbash purred, her eyes shining as she stared at the mole Nui caught. Moles weren't one of the animals that joined recently, so she wasn't too wary about the kill. Although that didn't mean there couldn't be a sentient mole out there, somewhere.

hunting, in a way. was soothing to her. the crunch of bone. the blood. the smell of crimson. truth be told, the felidae was always lusting to sink her teeth into something. to kill it. hunting was just a way to treat herself to her desires.

nui leaned down, quick to take the flesh between her fur and crunch down to ensure her kill was dead. and it already seemed like she had an audience. so preoccupied with what she was doing that she hadn't even bothered to pay attention to her surroundings.

as quickly as she had gripped the mole, she dropped it, once more a nimble paw over the corpse in a subconscious gesture. the praise was enticing and it made nui glow, pleased with her success.

"why thank you," came her satisfied purr, lips tilted upwards in a rendition of a bloody smile. ivory stained by the ichor of her prey, and directed at all three.

soon enough, with the introduction of an unfamiliar member, her attention zeroed in on the serval. one she hadn't seen before. an exotic creature with an exotic pelt.  lovely.
"toshinori, huh? well im nui harime. pleased to meet you.
