THE COALITION GUIDE (7/??)[WIP] - The Coalition - 07-04-2018

THE COALITION

This was the farthest north you had ever been. You had been walking for hours in a seemingly endless clearing with no destination in mind. What was it you wanted? Ah, yes. You had heard whispers of a place. Solace, sanctuary, and refuge—those were the three words that popped into your mind when you tried to remember.

You wanted an escape.

You felt a speck of cold hit your nose, and you looked up toward the pale sky to see it was beginning to snow. The forest was not too far away…and suddenly you were stopped in your tracks by three creatures. The one to the left a dark, sleek feline wielding a dagger, the one in the middle a long furred mastiff dog the color of chocolate, and the one to the right a small, cloaked fennec fox with a bag of assortments on its back. The canine spoke first. “Halt, on behalf of the Coalition and our Empress!”

You agreed with a nod, swallowing down your unease. Where were you?

— TERRITORY
- main camp is an abandoned samurai temple
- many hidden doors and such to explore
- surrounded by a vast forest
- territory has a beach, usually reserved for water based training along with the New Blood festival (sometimes)
- traditional Japanese fishing huts are found along this beach as well, though most choose to stay within the walls of the samurai temple

THE FOREST -
The forest surrounding and protecting the Coalition is a dense array of deciduous and evergreen trees. Berry and flower bushes litter the ground they can claim, some completely harmless and even edible, others? Better hope you can get home fast enough. Larger animals might find the forest hard to navigate agility wise, usually why you don’t see them as Shinobi. However, the forest has kept those who wish the Coalition harm at bay, getting them lost, never to be seen again. The locals have their own tricks for not meeting the same fate.

THE GREAT CRYPTOMERIA -
A large Cryptomeria tree and supposedly the oldest and largest tree within the Coalition's forest. It is The first landmark Novices and Inductees learn about, as well as the place climbing, highground defense and offense takes place.

STATUE YARD -
gotta rewrite this one oof

THE RAPIDS - [url=https://ak3.picdn.net/shutterstock/videos/18198673/thumb/1.jpg]♛

A freshwater river flowing down from the mountains, not recommended for swimming, period. Novices are not allowed here without at least two others who can swim well with them. Many have lost their lives to falling in, even before the Coalition’s time.

THE WOUND -
A charred area further into the territory, most likely burned by a wildfire about four months before the Coalition’s formation. Its still ridden with ash, but some who garden attempt to help heal the wound whenever they can. More often than not, the area is plagued with thick fog, it is not recommended to go in without a light.

— TRADITIONS
NEW BLOOD FESTIVAL
A 'newer' tradition, one made when the coalition was first founded. Wanting a time for novices to be proud of themselves and anything they could achieve, Rosie thought of the Festival, one hosted and planned by the novices themselves. Normally, there would be capture the flag for Shinobi Novices, spectated by the clan, a public sparring match for the Soldier Novices, along with a feast and dance prepared by the Merchant novices (who usually have the head of the operation, being the event planner division).

THE BALL GAME
A nod to Rosie's homeland, the ball game is played by using one's body to keep an almost 3kg ball in play, gaining points by hitting it into one of two vertical hoops (north team hits to the west hoop, south team to the east). It is a game sometimes played with the heads of one's enemies. Alongside its entertainment value, the Coalition uses it to settle material disputes, such as the Grand Merchant's vote ending in a tie, who gets to keep an item both member's found. It only works when there is something to gain or lose. All dispute matches are spectated by the high positions.

— RANKS
EMPRESS/EMPEROR - All around leader, anything goes pretty much at this rank
Rosie Played by [member=883]Elumina[/member]

IMPERIAL PRINCE/PRINCESS/MAJESTY - Second in command, most often the eldest family of the current leader, can be substituted for someone of grand trust, can do anything but declare war, as long as they consult with the current leader first

ROYAL PHYSICIANS - Fully trained healers, the only healers who can tend to the Leader, Imperial and their family(families), but can heal anyone and also hold try-outs for physicians

PHYSICIANS - Those in training to become healers, can heal anyone except the leader, imperial and their family (families)

GRAND MERCHANT - Leader of the Merchant group, the most respected of their class. The only leader to come out of a democratic vote within their own group. Handles trade routes for their class and inventory for the whole group, as well as taking suggested events up to the leader, whether ic or ooc. One of the counsel members for the leader and imperial

GRAND GENERAL - Leader of the Coalition's army, the most trusted and elite of their class according to both the group and the current leader. They help handle battle plans and lead most, if not all of the raids that the group has. One of the counsel members for the leader and imperial.

Shinobi - Fully trained assassins of the coalition, they specialize in espionage, hand to hand combat and range killing.

Merchants - the group's traders and event coordinators, they are trained in basic defense/offense but normally do not engage in combat.
