SAW AWAY • ximen’s ceremony - CORRUPTTIMELINES - 05-05-2022

Corrupttimelines had a sinking feeling in the pit of his stomach. Ximen had been murdered in cold blood by a stranger to him, and perhaps a stranger to Ximen himself. From his prolonged medical experience, the tom pieces together that he had put up quite a fight. Yet, he couldn’t help but feel it was all for naught. After all, the senseless bloodshed had resulted in the murder of another person he had known. Albeit his knowledge of the former did not run deep, he had walked the same soil and felt the same feelings. They had breathed the same air and perhaps even loved the same love before. Only the cruel taste of a slithering, seeping fate would come to know for certain. Corrupttimelines didn’t know anything anymore.
As he trudged into the territory with the remainder of the necessary things, the feline figured it was best to lie the former to rest before the onslaught that was sure to follow his death occurred. With assistance, he had brought Ximen to the resting place requested and his body lie with a thin cloth draped over it. This was of Cory’s doing, an attempt to hide the gruesome display that was left upon their borders. He wanted to cause such a display. After all, nobody wanted to remember someone they loved like that.
Somber eyes trailed over the deceased, and then his head raised and he left out a loud mewl. “To those that wish to attend, we are sending parting wishes to Ximen, I encourage you all to participate in this ceremony from life to the afterlife,” he cried out loud, shaking his head in dismay as he thought about what he’d have to do.
He had to restrain contain himself.

cory. the coyote was the first to approach the scene, pawsteps heavy and optics unusually dull. she missed ximen a lot and having seen that, what happened to him, had made something happen inside of her. she took a deep breath, skin pulling taunt against her ribcage, and stopped at the other's side. dipping her head down to see the way cory laid a cloth over ximen's mutilated body. seeing but not processing it.

His face looked dull amongst the crowd. Recognition appeared towards the two main spectators, Kiara and Vintara. It felt wrong to be hosting this. He wanted to cause this. The family should be up here with the fallen, not him. But, he supposed it was apart of his duties as a member of Tanglewood.
Slowly, a moment of silence occurred. Ximen’s lifeless body was lowered into the ground, and all Cory could do was stare.
