being a turtle was hard enough. being a baby turtle was the hardest thing ever. he was slower then a snail when walking with the adults. he was to small to find food alone. only hunting bugs or tadpoles was no fun. heck, he had a hard time doing much of anything, really. that was why he bothered adults more often. he relied on them heavily. the struggle was real, but this issue was a bit different.

he was stuck.

you see, he went to go to a smaller pool of water to swim. he loved swimming. he always would love swimming. alas, he decided to go over a rock in his way. what he could not have foreseen was the crevasse between one and the other. he assumed it was a solid rock and that was his undoing.

he took one false step on top and that was it. he toppled into the crevasse. upside down. now he lay there, little feet kicking as he tried to escape. squeaks of terror leaving him as he struggle.

Family.

Corrupttimelines had little to no family his whole life. As far as he remembered, the large dragon had always lived alone. It was a wretched existence, to live and not be known nor loved. The universe was punishing him for his misdeeds, why else would it be him being afflicted with this? Perhaps Cory really was a bad person. Perhapshe would be a horrible father to Vintara, who was currently flipped over nearby.

It had taken a second for the wyvern to notice. The soft cries fell upon deaf ears for a mere moment, and then he began to process it. With wide eyes, he frantically moved closer, rushing to help his adoptive child. “Vintara!” he hollered, attempting to nudge the turtle to their feet. A soft smile followed, and he dipped his head. “Be more careful.

thankfully, he was not upside down long. that was good, because he was not a happy turtle when stuck. a tender paw would roll him free. once he was on all four feet, he would look up at his father with wide eyes. taking in his words carefully, and nodding softly. he looked towards the nearby water and then back to cory. blinking as if he was thinking it out. he would decide to pull his legs into his shell.

his head still out, he would simply look up at cory with those ever watchful eyes.
