GONE TOO FAR, FROM PRIDE TO SHAME

The sloshing and splashing of water were welcoming to her ears - the white noise of the nearby ocean gentle on her mind. The lioness stared into the shallows, eyes focusing on the gravel and rocks under the shimmering waters. Paws were soaked, muzzle partially wet as well, but the wicker basket of fish was satisfying enough for her to keep diving her face toward a school of fish.

Wriggling in her maw, she held the fish up above the water, a smile on her face. Wings fluttered gently and she crunched down on the fish, dropping it into the basket afterwards. Then she returned to her position, still as a statue above the shallows, eyes focusing on the gravel and rocks under the shimmering waters.
