Drowning.

How do you describe the surreal feeling? Water cascades down the hips of your tender body, slowly swirling across every length of your being. Startled waves shift back and forth, creating ripples in time and the space around you. Overwhelming pressure draws into your being, your very flesh, and slowly the surface begins to dissipate into darkness from your glassy optics. Then, as you feel the very last inch of your breath dwindle into nothing, relaxation shifts and takes it’s hold on your body. Your heart rate finally fades away into a soft drum beat, before the drums cease playing.

Unless you’re Cory.

In a flash, the wyvern gags and chokes, rasping for air as his body lumbers over the border with a familiar aching sensation. Crystalline droplets soar across the barren landscape beside him, as his rather weak limbs strained to yank his aching frame forward. Weak, shallow, raspy breaths uttered past large, unforgiving lips. His frame inched up and down as agony surely ripped through his body like razor blades. “Ghaaa…ahh..ha,” he whimpered out, a doubtful and angry expression taking up the length of the large creature’s face. Moments later, he heaved and spit a large quantity of salty liquid up beside him. Only then, did his brain begin to process his shortcoming.

He had no idea where he was, or how he had gotten here. In fact, all he knew was that he had never been here before in his life. What was he supposed to do?

⛥ there's talk going 'round this town ⛥

the great beast wouldn't be alone for too long, heavy paws of bone color drifitng along with a quick pace. a voice that she didn't know reached her ears and brought her all too quickly to the shore. she remembered the feeling of water seeping into her from every angle, from the mouth and nose. drowning ... drowning was never a fun thing. before her wide-eyed gaze would be a dark wyvern, spitting out water.

her jog slowed as she approached the wyvern with a cautious, "aye. ya alright?", as she stepped closer. well shit, that was a dumb question to ask considering he seemed to be soaked to the bone, "easy there big fella. easy ....", she rumbled as she came to a stop in front of him. was it a bad idea to ask who he was? maybe so, it wasn't something the fae was going to ask at this very moment. "you uh, you climbed out of the water huh?", she asked, memories of meeting atbash swirling behind her eyes and causing her chest to squeeze and ache. breathing in and out, staring at him in consternation. not the smoothest greeting, merlin.
