BOY, THIS BEAT HITS SO DIFFERENT.
As the day drew to a close the heated lioness was stalking through the brush. A lot of Tanglers were skin and bones but with the rains came a invigorating energy and the will to survive. She had decided to try and see if anything had decided to come back or come out because of the rains. Something that she could share with the majority of the group to at least get their bellies filled for the night. It had almost been fruitless till she came across a herd of deer just on the outskirts of their territory. It would be a fight. She was weakened because of how the weather had treated them and she had given birth not that long ago. Her jaws quivered with the need to sink her teeth into one in particular. A massive stag with very large antlers. Her head lowered as she crept through the dried foliage, eyes of luminous blue fixated on the large buck.

Her tail twitched once before she suddenly broke from her covering. Her heart pounded in her chest. She needed to make this count and she couldn't make this up. Her paws thundered against the ground as she scattered the herd. Looking for her specific target she found the buck and launched herself, thick claws dug into the flesh of the deer's back and she hung on as be bucked. The strength of her prey was strong but she clung on because they needed this food. Her jaws clamped on to the back of the buck's neck and she twisted trying to get the herbivore to fall. And fall he did but right on top of her as he flipped. A hiss of pain left her as she flipped herself over and disregarding her own ached she lunged to tear the buck's throat and kill it quickly. Finally. Gently she sat panting for breath as she looked at the food. Now all she needed was to drag it back home.

Things were slowly starting to go back to normal, something Vigenere appreciated. It wasn't unusual for the tom to enjoy the rain, but after the heatwave, he was relieved that the weather was dreary. It certainly beat being hot and miserable, that's for sure. And just like the old days, Vigenere was back on his feet with the intention of provoking for Tanglewood and ensuring their safety. Turning his head as he heard rustling and a hiss, Vigenere searched around for the source - coming across Elsweyr just as she finished her kill.

"That's quite the catch." The savannah complimented with a dip of his head as he padded over. "Do you need help getting it back to camp?" Of course, he wasn't in his jaguar body nor was he any sort of big cat - but being half-serval meant that he did have some of their genes. Fortunately, he had a bit more serval traits as opposed to his littermates.[glow=COLOR,1,400]✧*:・゚[/glow]

A limp rabbit, dripping blood out of a neck puncture, hung in the air. Ximen carried his hunting knives in his pack, but he considered telekinesis the premier way to carry carcasses. Prevented the blood from staining his personal items or clogging his sense of smell, and he was less likely to eat his entire kill for a large meal if it wasn’t clamped between his teeth the whole way back.

He sniffed and stopped next to Elsweyr and Vigenere. A grimace of irritation crossed his face, and the lazy bastard glanced at his hovering rabbit. Fuck. No excuse not to help, right?

“Nice catch, Elsweyr. She can drag it back, right?” he grumbled. His nose wrinkled at the thought of shoving the rabbit in his bag—fuck, then he’d have to clean all his specialty blades and toss out any permanently stained cotton. “Yeah, looks like Elsweyr and Vigenere are good. Well, he will see them back home. Have fun!”

/ out unless he's stopped lmfao lazy bastard

"She would appreciate the help, yes!" The woman smile brightly as she looked at Vig, just thrilled to be able to hunt properly again. The drought had definitely taken a toll on the territory and she was hoping to lead a patrol into the neutral grounds soon to try and get more food into camp. Her gaze then shifted over to look as her brother came upon the scene and then he was promptly turning to leave after complimenting the catch but not offering to help. A soft chuckle left her throat as that was typical of her brother and she moved forward, trying to hid her limp but also attempting to catch his tail with her paw. "She thinks not. Ximen is fit enough to help them carry it back home, yes? He doesn't have anything else to do." Her tone was a tease then as she moved back to the buck to grab the carcass by the neck and lift it up, waiting on Vig and Xi for their help.

When Elsweyr’s paw caught his tail, the cheetah’s black fur stood up. Sighing, he stopped, looking over his shoulder, his golden eyes snapping between his sister and the buck. The rabbit carcass giggled in his telekinetic grip in silent protest—look at this very important escort mission—but he released the argument with one loud exhale.

“Nothing else to do, indeed,” he sighed. Nobody else thought of naps as something to do, so he knew better than to argue.

Glancing between the floating rabbit and the buck’s horns, his golden eyes gleamed. A smirk overtook his neutral expression; he waved a paw.

He impaled the rabbit on the buck’s horns. Not much blood, not much gore, given the whole dead-before-mutilation status. Still, he considered it a clever solution to keep his satchel unbloodied and save his own brain the strain of telekinetically carrying it while coordinating moving the damned buck.

Trotting to the buck’s rear, he chomped the butt and hoisted.

Well that was... certainly one way to grab the animal, Vigenere supposed. An amused snort left the tom as he tried to maneuver himself underneath the carcass, to ease the weight off of Ximen and Elsweyr's jaws; it was the least he could do in the situation.[glow=COLOR,1,400]✧*:・゚[/glow]

IT MUST BE BELIEVED TO BE SEEN
It seemed as though there would be three larger felines with one medium sized one soon enough near the border. Moth hadn't been there during the drought, having been captured and taken somewhere else, so she had been well enough off during the whole ordeal. Something she was both greatful for and saddened, considering she hadn't been there to help her group get through it when they needed her most. Moth knew of the different plants they could have eaten to at least have survived a little longer when needed, the proper mixes of things she had stored in her closet that - although they wouldn't have tasted great - would have saved off the hunger pains until the stores were gone. Instead they had just sat in her home drying up and going bad. She was here now though and that was all that mattered.

Seeing the catch, the female would quickly come over, tighting the bag around her shoulders before she finally spoke."I'll switch out to help if anyone needs it, I know it's been a rough couple weeks." She didn't want to outright say anyone in Tanglewood was weak, but they certainly weren't as strong as they had been when she had left, the aftermath of being starved and without water for so long.
