"You're Lethe, right?" The female approached upon hearing a small chirp, tilt to her head and smile on her lips. "What do you have there?" The dragoness was basically Inferno's sister, or half sister, whatever, but Inferno wasn't sure what to do with her. Nor did she particularly care, with what happened with Aphra and how many times her mother wanted to whore herself out.

Re: the plants eat it with their leaves ._. book - angelembrace - 05-12-2021

Books. You loved them or you had no interest in the slightest, and Angel found himself on the nerdier end of the book interest spectrum, reading quite frequently. Capable of going through a lot of academic text specifically before he was even an apprentice was an impressive feat if he did say so himself, but something told him that baby Lethe was not...going to reach his personal standard for himself. Not that he would come down on the dragonet for something that petty, he had a limit on what he would pick on.

Intrigued by the sound of turning pages, having been out looking for more potential things to study on his own, Angelembrace raised his brow at the image of Lethe poking at a botany book of sorts. Where had she gotten that? His first assumption for anything related to plants was Saturn, but...Saturn was blind. The curiosity ate away at him all the same, and he couldn't help but find any answers, if there were any. "Lethe, where did you get that book?"

Aphra was grateful that at least one of the slimey freaks weren't getting into trouble. Oleander was missing somewhere, the stars above knew whether she was alive or dead (Aphra certainly didn't care) and Dario went off into the territory where she could have gotten snapped up by one of the carnivorous plants. Again, not that Aphra cared - but she had to act like it. Aphra walked past Lethe, glancing down to see that her daughter had a book and stopped. Could Lethe even read? Likely not, and even if she did she probably 'forgot' how to do it. If there was one gripe Aphra had about Lethe that didn't involve the excessive slime, it would definitely be how forgetful she was.

"Enjoying the plants, dear?" Aphra cooed in a sweet voice, trying to act like she cared and was interested in what Lethe was doing. Like Angelembrace, she was curious where Lethe even got the book in the first place, but since he already asked, she felt no need to. Inferno was here, too, though Aphra had nothing to say to her at the moment.[glow=COLOR,1,400]✧*:・゚[/glow]

Aphra fought herself from retorting a remark about Lethe's forgetfulness, particularly whether or not this book belonged to someone. She should know that, it wasn't as if its been hours or weeks since she got the book, right...? Regardless, that wasn't what Aphra was going to focus entirely on, especially when Lethe asked her if she had a favorite plant. "You like sunflowers?" The mother asked for clarification, once again holding back a smart remark. Sunflowers weren't very poisonous (to her knowledge), but it is what it is, she supposed. "My favorite are foxgloves. I can show you, if you want." She gestured to the book with a paw. "Your sister Oleander is named after a flower, too, y'know." Not that Lethe would remember, probably.[glow=COLOR,1,400]✧*:・゚[/glow]

She narrowed her optics as Aphra approached, the mother of three children from different fathers. Tail flicking she'd return gaze back to Lethe as she addressed their mother as 'ma'am'. A worried frown settled onto Inferno's features and she padded over to Angelembrace. "You ever call her ma'am?" Quiet enough for the dragon baby not to her, but her head snapped across as Aphra mentioned showing her own daughter what foxglove was. "Lethe, say no." She chided gently, briefly baring teeth at Aphra. "Foxglove plants are poisonous and you should not touch them."

Aphra's ears flicked as Inferno bared her teeth at her, unfazed by the action. Amused slightly, really, but mostly unfazed. "The book, Inferno. As far as I am aware, there are no foxgloves around here." Although it would be nice to have a little garden of them. Maybe she could talk to Romulus or someone with earth elementals to help her grow some, but that was something she could figure out later on.[glow=COLOR,1,400]✧*:・゚[/glow]

Re: the plants eat it with their leaves ._. book - ARVID R. - 05-15-2021

Very much unlike Lethe, Arvid had a tendency to thrive when he was in the spotlight. Hell, there was a reason why he had captured all those prisoners, besides just wanting some test subjects to indulge in the sciences with. Specifically, he had wanted to impress. Particularly Sojourn, but really he didn't care who he was impressing, as long as he could get them to think about only him, even if it was only for a little while. This didn't mean that he was constantly desperate for attention, no – such a thing would be a pretty big detriment to his research – he just enjoyed it. He liked being center stage, and found that it drove him to do bigger and better things in the future, as well. There was a chance that could end up angering some people, sure, but he didn't care. He'd take them on without hesitation if he needed to. Really, it would seem to anyone with eyes that Arvid and Lethe were pretty much polar opposites.

Yet, it seemed as though they shared an interest in books in common. Sure, Leche technically wasn't reading the book, but curiosity could certainly lead to that later on down the line. For now, she could enjoy the pictures. Later? Perhaps she could even read the "scribbles" that came along with them.

It was because of this shared interest that Arvid found his tail wagging as he approached, glancing over the book that the tiny dragon had with her. He let out a low hum of approval before speaking, multicolored eyes gleaming, "Well, Lethe... no matter where you found this book, it's quite the interesting one. Maybe at some point I could teach you how to read it properly? The pictures are very nice, but the facts that come along with them are also fascinating." Especially to him, considering how heavily his work with poisons relied on plants. This knowledge was made somewhat obvious as he heard Inferno and Aphra arguing, glancing over before he spoke up plainly, "Actually... even if there were foxgloves growing around here, it wouldn't be an issue to look at or touch them. The plants are only deadly when ingested – so as long as she didn't eat them, she'd be fine." Not that he trusted a child who was still so young not to stuff a poisonous plant into her mouth.

She rolled her optics as Aphra mentioned showing Lethe the foxglove in the book. "Nobody can ever be too sure with you, mother. How was I supposed to know you didn't mean actually showing her the plant and shoving it down her throat?"
