A MASK OF MY OWN FACE
The dragonet snuck around the territory, eyes focused on something infront of her. It looked to be a large bird atop a tree stump, probably watching it's own prey. It was a good bit bigger than her but that's why she chose it.

The child lunged, making the fiercest roar she could. Unfortunately she landed short, alerting the bird and causing it to screech at her. Dario screeched back, but the bird struck at her with its claws, raking them across her face. She shrieked and swatted in fear, smacking the bird across the head as it went for another strike, and sending it into the ground.

After she managed to kill it (earning more scratches on her neck and face as a result), she began to drag it to the town, hoping to find one person in particular. As she entered the town she dropped the bird and called out. "Mom? Mom? Can you come here, please?"

Hopefully Aphra liked it, she killed it just for her mother!

Re: Please don't fake it! - hunting injury - ARVID R. - 05-09-2021

Oh. What a poor, poor, stupid little kid. Clearly she was far too young and naive to realize that Aphra was a bitch of a mother, and wouldn't care one iota about Dario catching anything. She probably wouldn't care about the injuries that the young dragon had sustained, either. Arvid couldn't help the frown on his muzzle as he wandered over, shaking his head from side to side before he spoke, "Er, kid...? Not sure calling for your mom is such a good idea right now..." The canine was technically still a "kid" as well, but he was at least old enough to know how Aphra was. Namely, he knew that she was a terrible mother.

While the dire wolf knew that Aphra was unlikely to give Dario any praise, that didn't stop him from offering some, he supposed. Sitting down near Lethe, he hesitated momentarily before he spoke once more, "Nice job on catching that bird, though. That's pretty impressive, considering your age..." He then turned his head, calling out, "Byr? You nearby? Dario got a bit banged up." The dragonet's injuries hardly seemed all that serious, but he still figured that he would call for the guru, just in case. Dario was still young, and an infection could easily prove fatal.

"Of fucking course she did." Came Aphra's icy hiss from behind Arvid, just now approaching the scene, obviously alerted by Dario's calls for her. She wasn't exactly enthusiastic that one of the slime-bastards were calling for her, let alone had been out of camp in the first place. "You stupid dragonet." Aphra turned her sharp gaze towards Dario now, completely ignoring Lethe (who ironically was being the least troublemaking one of the clutch, though Aphra certainly didn't enjoy how forgetful Lethe was). "I told you not to leave camp. Do you want to go missing like your other sister?"[glow=COLOR,1,400]✧*:・゚[/glow]

Re: Please don't fake it! - hunting injury - angelembrace - 05-10-2021

If anyone knew how, well...Aphra-like his mother could be, it was surely him. In fact, if he was being truly honest, the moment he heard Dario request Aphra's audience, willingly, he winced. The poor thing was clearly unaware that Aphra had no interest in the affairs of her own children or their search for her maternal affection. They would learn, and hopefully learn quickly, or else Dario would be in for one hell of a ride and a lot of mental suffering for a child to endure. A constant cycle.

While Angelembrace constantly told himself that he had no interest in the clutch either, holding himself to a higher regard for his personal accomplishments and the fact he was both born first and did not come with slime, a twinge of sympathy was felt at the brute shut down that Aphra delivered, despite the minor injuries that the dragonet had sustained. On one hand, while not the softest of words chosen, Aphra did make somewhat of a good point under the disgust, one that Angel could and would have agreed with even had there been no previous bias. Hunting on her own was dangerous, she was still small enough to be carried off, perhaps even by the prey she had targeted. The jaguar cub simply squinted at the scratches, noting if there was anything to prioritize but found none. Simply banged up was all. "Do not go far from the safety of camp, Dario. You could have been eaten." While not as cold as their mother had been, Angel's voice was certainly not what one might call supportive or concerned, just vaguely disappointed in the decision. They had already lost one of the clutch, after all. Ah, but...the catch was impressive. A sigh escaped him. "Take pride in your bird, but do not do it again."

A MASK OF MY OWN FACE
The dragonet bounced in her feet with the compliments given to her, a smile ever wider on her face. "I caught it for Mom!"

And when her mother hissed at her and scolded the child, she recoiled like she was struck. It was pretty obvious that Dario was taking it harshly, and she stared at the bird she caught. Maudes words didn't matter, and neither did her half-brother's words. Dario huffed, clasped a talon over her kill, and shoved it toward her mother. "Caught it for you."

And then she wanted out - she wanted to walk away. And so she attempted to weave her way from the group.

Caught it for her, huh? Impressive but not enough for Aphra, unfortunately, and even if she had cared, it seemed Dario was already trying to leave the scene in order for Aphra to be able to defend herself. With an ear flicking to ignore any glares she was receiving from NPCs and may receive from her other clanmates, Aphra picked up the bird in her mouth, turning around to take it back home.[glow=COLOR,1,400]✧*:・゚[/glow]
