OH GOD YOU'RE TEARING ME APART // recarving signs - CHALICE AKAODON. - 05-05-2021

There were multiple marks in the trees of Tanglewood's swamp that had little symbols carved into them. Chalice had to look into them, to see what they meant and if they were important, and once she learned that yes, these were important, the maned lioness made her way back out to the swamp. Using her sword, the woman redid the old carvings, redoing them to make them pop out more and to hopefully be more obvious. Chalice was quiet as she did so, her tail tip flicking as she moved along the swamp. Something to get her mind off of the heat, at the very least.[glow=white,1,400]✧*:・゚[/glow]

There were many little things, traditions and whatnot, that the surviving members of Tanglewood either no longer celebrated or kept up with, or simply forgot, or even just weren't here to witness them at their prime. Arrow couldn't blame them, the hardships that had beat them down left them too far down to really worry about things that weren't a top priority, like survival. But it was nice to see someone fixing something up through it all, warmed her heart really to know something wasn't going to go unnoticed.

Catching sight of Chalice as the maned lioness set out to recarve the symbols, one of Arrow's ears twitched in interest and slight amusement. It was enough to have her almost forget how dusty the dried out dirt beneath her paws felt, or how everything green had turned brown, or was in the process of doing so. "Interestin' things, huh?"

As much as Chalice wanted to, there was no way to warn Tanglewood of the heatwave or possible upcoming heatwaves; no one could really predict or change the weather. Hell, Chalice wasn't even sure if this heatwave was the first Tanglewood experienced or if they've dealt with it before. Although then again, given how unprepared everyone was for this wave, it was likely this was the first.

The sound of someone approaching made Chalice's ears flick, with the lioness turning around as Arrow spoke up. "They are." She agreed with a polite dip of her head. "Although I wonder how our enemies have not noticed them yet." Or have they? She wouldn't know.[glow=white,1,400]✧*:・゚[/glow]

EVERY OCCASION HAS ITS DISCUSSION—

"well if the heat wave is going to happen for a long time i'd suggest we ally up." the cub would muse out loud as he followed his mother to arrive at the scene. "i mean, only so we don't get attacked because we don't know where moth is, and we also don't know when it will be over. plus with all the plants drying up," he gestured to one random wilted clump with his chin, "the herbs we do have are most likely going to be useless should anyone get hurt."

Must be one of Arrow’s kids. Chalice mused to herself as she watched Lucinder wander up, voicing his own concerns and suggesting that Tanglewood ally themselves with another group. ”Good idea, although if I do recall -“ Chalice looked over at Arrow, as if silently asking for confirmation. ”We are allies with The Typhoon. Has Elsweyr planned on having a patrol visit them soon?” If certainly wouldn’t hurt to reach out and ask for help, even if it means admitting weakness.

”Cant imagine they ever cared, or noticed. Then again, we try to keep the meanings under wraps so we can point and laugh when they go down the wrong path.” A mischievous grin matched her equally mischievous response, glancing at the fresh symbol once more. Now that she thought about it, there was a lot of Tanglewood history that either could be taught to the new ones, or needed upkeep. She was in the process of running through her mind for anything that came to mind immediately when her son arrived, which she frowned about for a moment. He shouldn’t have been this far away from the home, and then she realized, with a jolt, she sounded just like Aurum. Guess she finally got it after all. ”Yeah, we’ve got the Typhoon. Damn pirates. Not really known for sharing and caring but-“ She looked up at the bright sky with a squint, then back down and nodding to Chalice. ”Very soon. Even if the rain comes back soon, we’ve still lost a lot of...supplies.” There was a brief pause in her sentence, a pause where she almost wanted to replace supplies with ”fuckin’ shit.”, but her kid was here and she didn’t want them to go back home with new additions to their vocabulary and have Elsweyr ground her ass too.

Ha, that was rich. Chalice grinned at the comment Arrow gave about enemies walking down the wrong path, a chuckle escaping her before the Vassal went on about The Typhoon. "We're definitely going to need help. I hate to say that I don't trust them or anything, but I do hope they will help us out." Did they have a reason not to?[glow=white,1,400]✧*:・゚[/glow]

LIKE WHAT YOU SEE? THEN YOU GOT GOOD VISION
BOY, THIS BEAT HITS SO DIFFERENT.
"She hopes so too...." The lioness had been quiet as she caught sight of the small group moving along the swamp. The carvings were something that she had noticed but she had not really paid them any mind. As she gave a small smile she moved to lightly brush her muzzle up against Arrow's before carefully nudging her son. She was still worried very much for her children and how she was going to feed them in the coming months. Things were not as well off in the swamp as most wanted and she didn't enjoy letting her new home down. Still it was all she could do and she tried to make the best of things. "She doesn't have much trust in the pirates either but they are all that Tanglewood has. So we all need to have some faith. She believes things will get better soon."

upon seeing his other mother approach a smile carved his face and he hopped in place before she nudged him. after that he sat down next to elsweyr and pressed his face into her shoulder with a happy sigh. arrow slipped up with her words and he let his  gaze linger on her briefly before looking back to chalice.
