It should not have been a suprise, that he had left all that time ago. It had been close to a moon now since Vaas' presence has quietly folded into the background of the hustle and bustle. Where- at a certain point he could no longer be found on the territory itself. The once acclaimed king of his own jungle ad seemingly returned to his roots, slipping into the forest without a trace. It had been a harsh month gone and even harsher moment without any trace of the once familiar faces that the tiger had claimed to know.

Vaas craved the noise, so sudden and chaotic was his clan- his family. So he returned, simple wants and simple needs, Vaas found himself at the border's of the Palm Glades and was suddenly hesitant. Was there anyone there that he would remember? That would remember him?

Unfortunately for Vaas, the first person to approach was someone that didn't know him. A young snow leopard with a twisted forepaw, limping as he walked. It was a natural limp though, even if that was something he was ashamed of. "Uh, hey there." Drayden greeted, looking up at Vaas, his eyes sparkling with awe for a brief moment. "You're at the border of The Palm Glades, my name's Drayden Cipher, I'm a Gladiator. What brings you here?"[glow=COLOR,1,400] ━ ✧*:･ﾟ[/glow]

It was rather unfortunate indeed for Vaas seeing as most that he used to know were all likely gone and now, he would be confronted by unfamiliar faces to even a new face sitting in the throne. Although, it would likely be a mutual unfamiliarity between the both of them since Winterhymns had never met the tiger or heard of him. A soft sigh left his maw while he was walking along the beach only to notice Drayden in the distance did he pick up the pace with both of his folded ears twitching in curiosity. There was only a few big animals within the group so seeing another one appear to likely return or join made the Pendragon a bit happy though he kept his lavender gaze fixated onto the tiger with his tail lashing behind him gently "Why hello there."

He chose to greet gently before taking a moment to compose himself before deciding to introduce himself with a small smile present on his maw "I am Winterhymns Pendragon, I am the legate of Palm Glades. How may we help you?" His inquiry was a gentle one and he would sit down next to Drayden offering the gladiator a gentle smile only for his attention to return to Vaas.

Small and slightly sleepy he approached the group of older animals. Not sure why he had chosen to come this far on his own. Maybe he was looking for a cuddle buddy for an afternoon nap? That was always good considering how sleepy he already was. His gaze lowered to the ground for a moment before he realized that everyone was doing introductions. All speaking almost proudly of their positions. Oh. He could do that too. Uh....it he actually could remember what his own rank was. Slowly the half blind kit tried to think, tiny tongue sticking out in thought as he squinted. But the word never came to mind. Instead he finally gave up and went to sit beside his Mapa, tilting his head up. "Wow, you're so big..." He squeaked out as he looked up at the tiger. Bigger than well his own Mapa! And that was impressive

Smiling lightly he lifted a paw in an attempt to place it on the tiger's just to see how big they were in comparison. Oh and he needed to do that thing that everyone else did too. "I'm Goldenkit, mister." His two toned face was bright and open as he wagged his stumped tail back and forth.

~ ☼ It was still so shocking, just how quickly her family had disappeared, right in front of her eyes. First it had been Drifting and Quasar vanishing, then not long after Medusa had died, and just a few weeks ago Rhinestone had disappeared as well, now she hadn't seen Foam in a while, and...and there wasn't anything she could do about it. She was supposed to be a Discens now, strong, tough, on her way to becoming a full-fledged Immune, but she...she didn't feel any less powerless than when she was just a Tirone. She was just glad that Winter had been kind enough to offer her a place in his home, having someone, anyone, around to support her right now, it felt like it made a difference. Things had changed a lot in these past few months, groupmates came and went, but not all of the changes were bad, just...most of them weren't really good.

Approaching the fairly large gathering at their border, Onyx wondered just what she would find there, though she had a feeling she already knew what it was. They hadn't exactly had any visitors in the past months, aside from those that were here to join, but who knew, maybe today she'd be proven wrong! Ruffling her wings a bit to knock off some of her looser scales, the hybrid couldn't help but feel like there was something she was missing here, something about the scent from just ahead that was...familiar. It wasn't easily recognizable, but she knew for sure that this was someone she had met before, and as she passed around the last tree in between herself and the crowd, her eyes locked onto the 'new arrival', and she froze. Memories filtered in, of the cold winter months, back when her language skills were still awful, of a tiger handing out cloaks, the scent of herbs that came with a long time of working as a medic, and of the affection he had shown to Rhinestone. "Hold on...Vaas? Is that you?" It took her longer than she would have liked, to remember his name, and...and this had to be him, it looked exactly like him!

Moments taken out of his life, stolen from him- where would he be without the glades? Why did he ever leave? The answers were selfish and unnecessary, too much was too good and he simply didn't trust it. It was easy after that, to spiral back into older, more dangerous habits. When the blame for his solitude was himself alone, his fear, his failure.

Vaas in comparison was older, nearing the age of past his prime. Three year old Siberian Tiger's frame was large, scarred and in horrid disarray, the scent of rouge covered up long ago any claim he had to this clan- what right was there, what left? He was no longer the leader of the boardwalk staring down a ruddy cat who stumbled into his home. The slight warble to the young leopards leg caught his attention immediately, it was immediate- instinctual of a predictor, and only the tiger's own rueful mood kept him from focusing on it entirely. Red rimmed jungle eyes watched the stranger- walk in his territory - his home.

The flash of anger isn't unexpected, but it catches him off guard here. It's only caught in the edge of his form, a shudder of inaction where a large whipcord tail hit the ground with a resounding silence. "Vaas" He smile on Winter's face felt fake to him- false to a king of a concrete jungle now lost to him. One he had to- fight earn to return to. Barter with these stranger's just to find the familiar spaces where he used to walk. "Vaas Montenegro"

"The legate, huh?" The tiger's voice was cool, indifferent. It's emotion in the lack of it. Jade eyes glanced towards the stranger- Winterhymns Pendragon. took rhinestonestar's place where- where was he? Vaas took a moment to look around, at the face of strangers. "I'm sure you're new, It's only been a moon and they really cleaned the house didn't they. I was the boss of the boardwalk, before the merge, your predecessor-" Rhine, Mi Rey- gone. "welcomed me in, with open arms"

There was a bitter, sudden urge to laugh at the Medici that had took his place. He felt a wave of his own emotions shudder, visible through his pelt like a ripple of muscle. Black paws extended into the dirt, claws digging softly into the flesh of the earth and shredding the grass under his paws. Then-then-

Two cubs bundled forth, one more hesitant than the former. ANd his eyes narrowed down on the scaled one. Onyxkit- oh he remebered that cloak that he made for her. clasps to hook at their wings and keep them warm through the first true blizzard the beach ahd seen before-

well, before he left really.

"It's only been a month, I-" his eyes zeroed in on Onyxkit when he spoke, "I miss my family, the family I found here in the Palm glades"

If Drayden could hear Vaas's thoughts on his twisted forepaw, he probably would have gone to hide behind Winterhymns, or press it closer to his chest as if attempting to hide it. Fortunately though, the cub didn't hear Vaas's thoughts, even if he could feel the much older male's gaze on him. "You're talking about Rhinestonestar..?" Drayden half-asked, half-noted when the tiger brought up Winterhymn's predeccessor. "She's been gone for a while now, I think." He finished. "But you're still welcome to stay here if you want to."[glow=COLOR,1,400] ━ ✧*:･ﾟ[/glow]

~ ☼ It was a bit of a shock she'd admit, to see someone she knew at their borders, someone who had just disappeared nearly a month ago. This was...it was the first time someone had ever left like that and actually returned, at least, it was the first time that she had experienced this herself. Was it too late too hold out hope then, that some of the others might come back soon too, that maybe...maybe Rhinestone might...Rhinestone...oh, he had been close hadn't he, to their former Legate. The hybrid couldn't help but wince at the mention of his former family, a family that had all but vanished over the course of the past month, much like he himself had. She didn't want to say it herself, she wasn't sure if she could get the words to come out right, but thankfully, she didn't have to.

Without that family here anymore though, would he still stay? Onyx wasn't quite sure what she would have chosen, had she been in a similar situation, but with the very thing he had come for now gone...she couldn't hold it against him if he just left. She didn't want him to, she may not have really talked with him much, not that she could hold much of a conversation back then anyways, but there was still a connection there. "Would...would you like to stay?" the Discens asked hesitantly, the thought of Vaas leaving heavy on her mind. Back out into the woods, never to be seen again, just like Quasar and Drifting, like her mama, it...it would be fitting, in a sad way.
