Send me Away - nightmare - to find them a fortune - Ares - 03-21-2021

For the Record, this is self-destructive
For the record, I'm aware of that.
The night was cool - not chilly, thankfully - as Ares slept in the Medici den. Curled up with the scent of herbs all around her helped sooth her... most of the time. Soon she began to twitch, pulling herself closer. Her face distorted into that of fear, of confusion.

I paced around, for hours on empty,
I jumped at the slightest of sounds.
I couldn't stand the person inside me,
I turned all the mirrors around.

Tanglewood's swamp was... an unwelcome sight. Even worse when it was smoldering, burnt, blazed. Deathly silent, the girl got closer, paws becoming darker with ash. Scaled. Wings flared. Distorted snarl. She watched as tanglers fled, some fought and fell. Lioness stood firm, small grey kitten standing beside. Fire welled around them. Still they stood, both pleading. [color=red]THEY ARE NOTHING, ARES. No, they were - are - will be, everything. Will always be everything. Nothing could compare. Nothing. Still, she watched as the feathered beast leapt, fire erupting from it's toothed jaws.

She gasped, jolting awake with pain roaring up her legs and back, head pounding, someone in the doorway. Someone in the doorway? She looked at the entrance. Sleek feline, winged, horned, thagomizer tail. Glowing red eyes. Ares blinked and they were gone. "Wha- augh!" She hissed, trying to stand on her legs but buckling under the pain. Hot white pain. Like fire did it rage in her.

At times, the Irishman did not sleep.  Occasionally, Rowena wore him out enough to simply drift away, but many nights the faerie lingered awake.  A silent sentry outside the den he and his daughter chose.

Accustomed to staying alert, the pirate tensed at the sound of someone's voice -- a hiss no less.  Peering into his own den to double-check on his sleeping child, Séamus quietly made his way to the medici den.  Ah, I don't think I've met her before.  But that wasn't very important.

"You alright there?" He kept his voice low, wary of waking the rest of the camp.  Ares did not, in fact, look alright to him.  On instinct, the wildcat inhaled, subconsciously searching for the smell of any painkillers.

Through tear-blurred vision she stared up at Séamus, body frozen in pain. But quiet the whisper through gritted teeth, [color=red]"There's poppy seeds against the wall - I need two of them, please." She forced her head to move in the direction to where the seeds were, a cluster of them on a flat leaf. She steeled herself as more pain resonated within her, almost as though she was burning from the inside out, like she was literally on fire.

The faerie nodded, keeping one eye on the suffering girl as he gathered the seeds and brought them straight to her, gently passing them over.  "'ere you are.  Deep breaths, yeah?  Could you tell me what 'appened?"

With more context, perhaps the Irishman could do more -- especially as he saw no obvious, direct injuries.
