After taking home the baby rat that Michael had gave her, and the supplies he gave with it, Vayne got things set up for her new friend. She wanted to make sure he was comfortable and once she was sure that he seemed okay with his new living arrangements, Vayne gently picked him up and carried him to the outside of her home. She didn't want to bring her new companion on the beach with her yet and so, she just sat outside of Diya and Roxanne's home, a smile on her face as she pet and tickled the rat. Eventually, the young girl brought out a bag of cheese, trying to teach Silv some tricks. "Sit." Vayne said in a gentle tone, trying to gently push Silv's hindquarters down to show what she meant.[glow=COLOR,1,400] ━ ✧*:・゚[/glow] Re: BREAKING THE HABIT // playing with new companion - Keona. - 03-04-2021 [table][tr][td]

Friends she did not mind. She had a few. But not many that she often shared her space with. Only one she would willingly spend entire nights with. To allow a place in her room to sleep. [/td][/tr][/table]When Michael announced Princess' litter, she'd simply been curious. Preferring to simply check in rather than adopt. A baby rat simply wasn't for her. Nor would she probably be very good for a baby rat. Too distant. Often not even in the sky parlor. Doing her rounds and trying to check up on everyone. Spending her free time besides the ocean. Keona and a baby anything would not work well. But it was nice to see Princess' children cared for. By those who had the commitment for it. And Vayne happy. The poor girl had gone through enough. It was nice to give her a little friend. "Aloha, Vayne," the petite fae murmured. Pale hues blinking at the scent of cheese. Ah. A little training? Keona hummed softly in thought. "If there's anyway I can help, just tell me. I don't mind." And she was a little curious. Her cousin's raven companion, Fiachra, had quite a head on his shoulders. But a stubborn streak too. He certainly knew a few things. Just... Didn't always cooperate. Certainly didn't preform tricks. © MADI Re: BREAKING THE HABIT // playing with new companion - VAYNE CIPHER-VANTAS. - 03-04-2021 [glow=white,1,400]LIKE WE FORGET WHO WE CAN TRUST ! — 。+゚.[/glow]
"Aloha!" Vayne chirped back the greeting. She rather liked the way Keona said 'aloha', if she was quite honest. Maybe she would continue doing so from now on, but then again, it sort of was Keona's thing wasn't it? She didn't want to step on Keona's toes. "I'm just trying to some training with Silv. Do you have any tips on how to get him to listen?" She didn't think that the Dealer had any pets or companions and she definitely wasn't aware of Fiachra. Still, any sort of tip would be appreciated nonetheless, even if it didn't necessarily work.[glow=COLOR,1,400] ━ ✧*:・゚[/glow] Re: BREAKING THE HABIT // playing with new companion - Morrison - 03-04-2021 MORRISON
The quaint prattling of two reached his ears, causing his gaze to shift away from the sky and back down to the ground. Interested eyes traced the scene in the distance, watching at the small feline gave way to a small rat and... tame it? Morrison watched in confusion. If that little thing was roaming on the deck of his ship, it would be a crimson pool by the time he squashed it underneath his paw, not a insentient pet. They were prey. Nor friend, nor foe, just food. He couldn't say for certain though, as he had met a few small creatures that could talk and walk the plank without any issue. Intrigued by the sight, he pushed himself to his haunches and wandered after Keona, the kind feline who welcomed him politely him at the border. Upon arrival, Morrison settled near her. His attention focused downwards at Vayne and their companion though, trying to figure out their dynamic. "Aloha," he mimicked. "Vayne-" He caught the child's names during Keona's arrival and internally noted to remember that for the future. "-you have a nice lil lad here. What's his purpose?" Morrison hoped it would be to overfeed the rat so they'd be nice and meaty for their next meal, but he highly doubted it... It had a name too, after all. Re: BREAKING THE HABIT // playing with new companion - salem - 03-04-2021 [align=center] ♦ | SALEM Keona's familiar words of greeting lulled the small wildcat over. Vine-wrapped paws padding over slowly, with no interest in crowding anyone. Subconsciously, he shifted closer to his friend, dark eyes moving curiously over the subject."Aloha," he echoed in a bare murmur, the word accompanied by a shy smile. Salem wondered at times if Keona possessed a favorite word, and if it would be the one she uttered everyday -- light in tone and capable of a multitude of meanings. Salem adored it himself, though he particularly enjoyed the way she said it. He shifted his paws; searching for an encouraging thought to share. Vayne seemed excited and he wished to offer something to help, though he had no experience with training rats. Keeping a pet or companion existed as an entirely foreign concept to the feline. Sheepishly, Salem's ears rested flat against his head. Listening for any child could be a difficult concept to teach. "The... Cheese is a reward, right?" He inquired hesitantly. "Maybe you should give him a small bite to start off... Get his interest?" It was the best starting place he could come up with -- hopefully it made sense. "He's just a pet. A little companion." Vayne replied to Morrison, looking up at him with shining eyes. She seemed rather proud of her new friend, and completely naïve as to what the male was thinking about. Not that she would be able to tell anyway, given she had no mental powers at the moment. "I'm trying to train him right now. Just for funsie's, I guess?" She didn't know for sure, it just seemed like fun. Fortunately though Salem came by to offer advice, even if he didn't entirely know what to do. "Yeah, it's a reward. I can try that, I think." With that, Vayne turned back around and once again gently pushed Silv's hindquarters to the ground, telling him to 'sit' once more. She quickly offered a bit of cheese to him, to which he quickly accepted and started to munch on.[glow=COLOR,1,400] ━ ✧*:・゚[/glow] Re: BREAKING THE HABIT // playing with new companion - michael t. - 03-07-2021 He had actually been heading for Diya's home to say hi when he saw Vayne, along with Silv. A cheerful smile came to his face as soon as he saw them, moving over and sitting beside Keona as he purred, "Hello there, Vayne. I'm glad that you and Silv seem to be getting along." He really was glad, considering how much he cared for his rats and their children. It was because of this that he ignored Morrison's comment, figuring the other was just being ignorant. Surely he had heard of pets before, right? If he hadn't, then he must've had quite a sad life – Michael couldn't imagine being half as happy without the companionship of his mischief of rats. Looking towards Silv himself, the jet black bobcat smiled and said, chuckling, "Well, at least he seems to like the cheese. A couple of mine are more picky eaters, and they like more unusual little snacks." It was a bit of a pain, when he had to go scouring the territory for one thing in particular for one of his pets. Michael then mentioned, laughing and shaking his head a bit, "Just, uh... be sure not to overfeed him. If he starts shaking you down for treats, he could end up getting sick pretty easily." Thankfully, Vayne didn't seem like the type to overfeed him too much. She might've been quite the softy, but she also wouldn't want Silv to get sick. — Reggan

Vayne didn't really know how to take care of a pet in all honesty, but she knew how to take care of herself for the most part and that's all that mattered, right? Though she was definitely glad when Michael came over and gave her a little bit of advice; she honestly wasn't even sure if she was supposed to or allowed to do this at all. "Oh, I didn't know that." Vayne replied, her eyes wide, looking down at Silv for a moment just to make sure he wasn't attempting to get at the rest of the bag of cheese she had. "Is it bad if I give them something like this?" She asked just to be sure.[glow=COLOR,1,400] ━ ✧*:・゚[/glow] |
